That light at the end of the tunnel thingy...if that is just the effect of the lack of oxygen on the brain, then what an amazing thing that it should be so comforting and take away all fear of death. I almost died when having one of my children and had an Out of Body Experience. While I was looking down on myself, I saw a brilliant light and it was so wonderful and welcoming that I was completely unafraid and tried to move towards it. Obviously I didnt die(!) but I dont now have any fear of dying, just a feeling of sadness that I will leave behind those I love. I'm not sure what happens AFTER death, but I do believe that we live on, in our genes if nothing else - why else are we all doing our family history, if we dont feel we have some connection to the past and some to the future? I would love to think we all go to a nicer place with our loved ones - just hope I don't bump into my first husband if we do! Debby

I believe that our souls go on to a more spiritual place. Im a firm believer. I have had 'my' proof! Pat

We all have different ideas of what happens to us when we depart. I like to think that we go on that way we can meet up with our loved ones. I know not everyone shares that belief but these are just my thoughts... Lindax

I believe that we die and decay like all living things. The brain dies and in the process of dying the lack of oxygen causes the light at the end of the tunnel effect. Louise

I wish I did believe in life after. My Mother does and it gave her great comfort when her Dad died. I would love a bit of that comfort when my own parents start to fail...but unfortunately it's all a bit far fetched for me. Sue xx

Reincarnation, its what Ive always believed,we decide what we come back as,we decide what we need to learn,until we are 100% pure. When that happens we go onto a higher plain. So ive got trillions of lives left yet!!lol

Perhaps we just read what we want into things happening Geoff, maybe the clock would have stopped anyway, and the smell may just be something of the deceased that is near, who knows? Lynda

i believe thers something after death, i mean how many ppl have lost someone close then once they have passes wierd things happen eg clocks stop at certain time, smells?

Some very interesting comments on here. Isn't it strange how some believe so deeply where as others don't believe at all. Not at all sure what it's all about. I just think if there is something after this life, you see all your family, how nice, if not then it was nice while it lasted. Lynda

I agree with Jayvee! You don't have to go to a spiritualist church or dabble in contacting spirits to find out what happens after death! The best selling book in the world is the Bible! Why? 'Cos it explains very clearly that God has provided a place for us to spend eternity with Him, and it tells us quite clearly how it is possible for us to get there, and what it will be like! Denise

I don't think there is anything 'on the other side'. We die and decay. Perhaps fortunately, we will never know the real truth - if my belief is wrong, I will have a (hopefully nice) surprise.

As a Christian I believe in the teachings of the Bible which, I'm glad to say, is full of promises and assurances of life after death for those who've accepted Jesus Christ as their Saviour.

I believe we go to another place to rest and properly relax untill such a time when we are reborn. I think it's better to think like this than just think once we die thats it. It just seems that life itsn't worth it if we can learn and take things to make a better life someday whether it be a reborn life of our own or help someone else. Sx

I reckon this life is pretty good, so hope I ave loads more years on this planet, hope the next bits as good, if there is one that is. Glad you're pleased Andy :)))

I think this world we are in is hell! when we die we go to a better place call it heaven or what you like. Davex
