Jennifer I too never smoked inside the house couldnt stand the smell of it then.. I know I couldnt have not told hubby I needed all the support I could get hence using this site.. I did use the patches for 6 weeks not 10 as I kept forgetting to put them on I thought that I would just go it alone in the end. Debs x |

Jennifer, Well done, Isnt that the greatest thing though? When people dont think you can do it - as you then begin to think you will do it to show them so in the end you have more reasons than your original ones to quit, gosh hope that makes sense. Hope you enjoy your pc - shant tell what I plan on having but its no longer a laptop! Debs x |

Hi All, No I have not given into the cigs and dont plan on that either, feel so much better not sure why I didnt do this years ago. James, You wouldnt believe how stressfull it was having them here, to cut a long story short - they left a few days before their flight! I cant imagine we will be sending Christmas cards to each other either!! If I could survive that then I will survive anything without a cig- they must have smoked about 40 between them a day! Not in my house though LOL This is my glovebox - thought I would show you how well I am doing. debs's Glove Compartment Todays Date: 7/19/2006 My Milage: My Quit Date: 4/1/2006 Smoke-Free Days: 109 Cigarettes Not Smoked: 1,641 Amount Saved: $381.5 Life Gained: Days: 9 Hrs: 4 Mins: 50 Seconds: 32 Debs xx |

It has been quite on this thread, glad to see people are still keeping up. Well done Melaine must have been the example you have set him. Debs hope you are coping with extra stress of your brothers family and keeping strong. Joy well done, wont be long till it is a year, which is what the rest will be aiming for. Welcome Shirley Ann, it is easier than you think the hardest step is the first one. When do take it, make sure you have NO CIGARETTES on you, because smoking is a habit, use the patches and keep posting on this thread and you will get a lot of help from ex-smokers. Where has Joanne got to she was going to stop on the 1st of the month, have e.mail but no reply yet James |

Hello Everyone Carol, Glad you enjoyed your week in Norfolk. You certainly did pick a good week weather wise. So you were tempted for one ciggie, never mind don't beat yourself up just get back on track again. I would so love to be a social smoker, several members of my family do this, smoke on a night out then do not bother again for months. I think I am an all or nothing girl ;-) Rosie Do give up. The support on here has been great for me for the last few weeks. I have had several previous attempts that failed but am determined this time. I used Allen Carrs book & lots of willpower but others have used various methods. Yippe 6 weeks today smoke free (excluding the wacky backy in Amsterdam) Ang x |
