I've been hanging about because I can take a lot of it - the V in particular, the religious parents, not blindness, but my Mum had something done to her eye - think it was a cataract, tummy ache (more intenstinal - the dread constipation again), not Wilma but the name Fred??? I get dizzy sometimes - did yesterday for no apparent reason - put it down to low blood pressure. It's all very tenuous, but thought it might be worth mentioning? Kaye x |

Helen1959 | Report | 10 Jul 2006 13:48 |
not a loan, but a re-morgage, to do some improvements. Helen |

Did you use to go to her for advice when you were younger about your finances? |

Helen1959 | Report | 10 Jul 2006 13:52 |
well when I first started working she advised me to divide my wages up into 3, one part to save, one part to use weekly and one part to her for my keep, and she did help us out a couple of times when money was tight. Helen |

I feel she was very wise and sensible where money was concerned and so are you. She says there is no reason why you can't ask her for advice now about money or anything for that matter. just find a quiet spot and she will be there and ask away. You are feeling uneasy about borrowing money and are right to. She says ask her how the money can be shifted about what you have already and scale down your plans. just ask her yourself what she means and she will show you. She says you may need to move house a couple of years down the line and housing market is likely to go through a very unstable phase and she doesn't want you to get stuck. |

Both Mum and Dad were reasonablely carful with money but they did have some financial problems when Dad had to finish work but they managed to get out of it. It's funny you saying about moving house because I was only thinking the other day, that we have been in this house for 7 years and when Phil was in the Army we used to move around every few years and the longest we ever remained in one place was 7 years, so I suppose I've been feeling like I've got itchy feet, but We haven't even talked about moving. I suppose that once the girls fly the nest, the house will be too big for just the 2 of us, but I can't see that happening for a while especially with Lyndsey, she loves her home comforts too much lol Helen |

Louise, were you looking at the photo that I sent you? only that was of Mum and Dad and Lyndsey, just after Dad had had his heart attack. I will take on board what you said about asking Mum for her advice, she was a very special lady and has been gone from us for almost 5 years. Dad is the one who doesn't agree with this sort of thing and when Mum and I went to see a medium many years ago we had to keep it quiet from him. Many thanks for the reading love Helen XXXXXXXX |
