I was born in Yorkshire(Sheffield) and moved away 24yrs ago to live in London,. Now live just outside Gt Yarmouth and I wouldn't move anywhere else now, but I still consider myself a good old Yorkshire Lass, even though I no longer have my accent Lindax.

if its family roots that count my main line of Harwoods come from the area north of York. mainly the North/East Riding border. Kirby Underdale Kirby Grindalhythe, Kirkby Moorside, and to be different Goathland. So we are a Yorkshire family that emigrated to london and then west. I hope to get up there this Summer to see some of the original docs. Jim

Hi all. What about the GREY LADY in the theartre Royal? And i beleive that the Grand theartre is haunted by someone. I was there one night watch Keith Charles, the ghost hunting detective. I kept seeing a dark shadow pass me as i sat in my aisle. I thought i was imagining it but it was constant all evening. Strange thing was i didn`t feel frightened at all! Vanessa

Hi Janet, I have never been to one before. It was £3 each to get in and was so packed ( it was a hot day) couldn't get nr half the stalls. I was glad to get out for some air. Never even saw GR stand. Didn't know it was there til I had come out, and saw it on a piece of paper I had picked up. LL

Yep, 'Fraid all hauntings in and around York (and there are lots) are mainly soldiers and monks. Don't want to start a believer or none believer thread but me and hubby saw a monk (ghost) just past Stamford Bridge going towards Leeds quite a few years ago. Not seen owt since tho. LL
