Carol, I'm glad someone else remembers - yes they were a bit lethal. Took your life in your hands riding on them - when one bit of the hat 'bumped' against the central pole if you didn't hang on you were in trouble. Not something you wanted to be on if a gang of bigger and heavier kids climbed on the other side. They had one in my local park in the 70s, probably long gone now. I also didn't like those big roundabouts with the running boards round the edge that you climbed onto then sat on, holding onto the metal bars that radiated from the centre. If you wanted to get off when no -one else did you literally had to jump and take your chances. And do you remember those other rides - the ones that were like a 6 seater wooden 'rocking horse' on a metal base - each seat had a metal handlebar in front. The whole thing rocked back and forward. When it rocked, it bumped heavily against the base and you ended up with a numb bum if you stayed on too long. Angela

We have brill spray pool a few miles away ..squirts out of the ground at random out of sprays in the air no pool just hoses that pop up at random an you dont know which way ANYONE FANCY RUNNING THROUGH TO SEE IF THEY GET CAUGHT

Anne, but I got a pendant with a picture of the Bay City Rollers in! Teresa, that's no fair I never had a Sindy. My mum gave me another doll at told me it was Cindy but it isn't the same. I did get a Pippa later though with the hinges in the knees. Angela

Not really!!!!!! I can see that..... We used to do the catering for a few up this way, especially the Jacobites in Nairn ... from 4pm Friday till 4pm Sunday non stop food!! Still have the badges but club disbanded, even bikers get older :-((
