Just the one account for me - can't afford and don't need more than one. Kaye x

I have two accounts, one for my family and one for Hubbies lot. His account is under Ernest Henderson, but I only ever post on the boards in my name. I also explain to anyone I contact on behalf of hubby who I am so that they are not misled. Helen :-)

Only one, though I can see reasons why people would want/need more than one and can't see a problem if accounts are easily identifiable so they can't be used for disruptive purposes so easily. GR does a very poor job of securing and policing the site and most of their stated 'can'ts' are really 'cant be botherd's.'.

I have one ever paid for one membership, but somewhere along the line, I acquired two memberships numbers, one for my board name and one for my real name - all down to GR - not my doing! Bev x

Only one paid up and posting account, but three freebies for one name study, another branch I'm researching and a twiglet for a friend. It's good for hot matches, but I have to have different first names for each, otherwise I absentmindedly try to post while wearing the wrong hat. I have never posted on Success as it's bad for GR's ego.

I have only ever had this one account in this name. I can't see if anyone has more than one account for dubious purposes that they would admit to it can you? Ann Glos

I have three one I set up when I first joined EONS ago that was for an old email that got shut down and I don't know the password to anymore and now just has to st there with onthing but my name on it and no way of getting rid. This one which is mine and the one I pay subs for so I can post and contact members and a third one which is in my name and is able to view my tree (of my useable account) that I give to people that contact me through my website and want to view the tree but aren't genealogists so don't have the software for gedcoms etc. It's not subscribed so they can't post or anything and is quite safe.

One, although its my second account, the first one being dead, deceased, nailed to its perch (I closed it, nor GR, before anyone insinuates the latter). My wife has an account oo but doesn't often use it. I'm not a coward, I'm happy to attribute my name to anything I have to say.

I should add that if I do create an account for OH's tree I will never post on the boards in his name or from his account. Gwynne

Unknown Report 20 Jul 2006 05:48

I have two accounts as I am researching two trees. I don't think I've ever posted on the general board in my other account but 4 regulars on here know the name and number for that account.

Guinevere

Guinevere Report 20 Jul 2006 05:42

I joined in the very early days then cancelled that account when I became a paying member 3 years ago. I only keep a very small tree on here of direct ancestors of myself and OH. If GR ever develop a decent tree format I may want to put bigger trees on and will open another account for OH to keep them separate. Gwynne

why would anyone have more than one? And if as you say people have multiple ones to 'stir up trouble', jeez someone should get out more!
