How exciting Jenny - do hope things won't take long for Toni and Lloyd. When I had my son 24 years ago, I was induced 2 hours after my waters broke as things weren't happening very quickly. I was put on a drip at 9 pm then when the nurses changed shifts, at 10 p.m. another one said 'Oh this isn't a lot of good' and speeded up the drip, which is when all my breathing and control went out of the window. I was already 'wired up' to an epidural and so couldn't feel to push, it was so unpleasant and as an older mum to be I was feeling the strain somewhat. I had had a very busy week before hand, finishing decorating etc, had had an idiot woman drive into my driver's door of my car two days previously (while I was driving!! - she crossed my path and said she didn't see my driving up the hill and following the lane round - she nearly had a heart attack when she saw me struggling out of the car looking like an elephant) and I had had little sleep or rest that day. My son was finally born at 4.30 am. with the help of forceps, and I was really glad of the cuppa then. So these things can be speeded up depending on the state of the mum and the baby. Hope little lady comes along before I go to bed! Liz

Lloyd has just rung, Toni had to ask for Epidural, first one did not work, so she has had another that is now working. I am so pleasd that she has decided to have this done. Jenny xx

I am finding it so different. Four Grandsons are my eldest two Daughters. This is Son's first and I cannot be at the Birth as only Father and one Grandparent can be present. Obviously Toni's Mum wants to be with her. Son has sat there since 8am this morning, doesnt ring until after 3pm, tells me he has no credits on his phone, and I finally get in touch with him at 9.30pm tonight.i have worried from the very beginning of this pregnancy, and really feel so frustrated that I could scream. Older Daughters are 230 miles away are begging for info. Is this a natural thing or what???Sorry, I am so worried, excited and ancious. Spelling. Jenny xx

You were so frustrated with him at the time...and yet now...granny to be is leaping around all excited for them! She'll be glad to be 'not pregnant' in this heat - long hot night for all. hope news comes soon! Pretty name lined up? Jess x

My first labour was nearly 15 hours of, well, labour! I was cream-crackered at the end and if they'd said they were going to take the baby away and sell it, I would have said 'fine'. 2nd time round, baby was a few days late but they decided to induce me and I was very keen on getting it over and done with. Took about 3 hours from start to finish and afterwards I was feeling fantastic and wanting my cup of tea!
