Agree with you Linda, I always liked the boards although I tried to steer clear of the bickering. I think after a while it was easy to tell thew people who kept it going. I have to say I only ever had 1 person smack my wrists for something I said and at the time I did think they were a bit paranoid as they took my thread completely the wrong way, however I let it go and have had no problems since.I think the people on here are great and so supportive. xxxx

I think it SEEMS friendlier because people are wary about posting.....either because they think they will get jumped on for having an opinion.......or because their thread will be zapped if they mention anything slightly controversial...........mind you it doesn't even have to be controversial now does it! BLAND is the word I'd use to describe this board at the moment!

Many of the nice ones are still here, using both sites and many others too as well. Sadly a few of the nice ones will never touch GR General Topics board with a bargepole anymore, such the hurt has been. I certainly dont feel 'safe' on here. .Apart from a few who need two trees such as adoptees which Gr could keep a tab on.........Gr should stop multiple accounts .......(some troublemakers have confessed they are using more than one account to post as different peeps on the board.) And also stop multiple name change (have a boardname section which after registering, if you need to change, it must be with consent from GR.) Until these measures are undertaken, I will constantly be on my guard. Elaine x

Personally I feel the spirit has gone from the boards. People dont want to enter into debates for fear that they will be classed as troublemakers for having a differing opinion. People are told what they can or cannot post by other members, Members got told off for 'Arguing'.the other day and had their hand slapped like a small child , and told not to argue because somewhere in the world Ken Dodds dads dog was dead. (Pardon the humorous pun) The thing is, why post to tell people what and what not to post...one persons argument is another's debate.And besides (I havent seen arguing here for a short while to warrant such a thread. Yes it may be nice at present, but if you look, the board is mainly full of birthday announcements (nothing against them btw)...good mornings and games and quizzes. With very little in between. People are afraid to post. Elaine x
