Aileen, has recently ish changed hands again....charlie chalks has been banished and it is a big pub/restaurant....food seems ok, it is clean, bright and airy....and if it is not your taste it is a short walk to chingfords other bars and pubs Just spoke to catherine in manchester (at chester meet) and she is coming too |

Hi, I used to go to the Royal Forest all the time in the 80s when it was more of a huge restaurant then we didn't go for years. Last visited it about 5 years ago and we walked in and walked straight back out again. It really looked like a dive....has it changed back again to being a good place? |

Webster Am sure it's fine, as I said to Maz, I was just being nosey. I have been looking thru the website, you put on Suzy's meet thread. And OMG at some of the reviews, to pubs local to me!!!!!! i swear i must be visiting different pubs to the reviewers or are my standards that low??????? |

have read a couple of reviews, neither were very good lol but as maz said it has recently been taken over, and has new management etc, myself and karrie cutlets plan to make a visit there in a couple of weeks to check out the new menu (went in the summer with the kids) if you google the royal forest, chingford you should be able to find a review, but i dont know how recent |
