Thanks Webster, The Royal Forest sounds great and it is nice and spacious and ideal for a gathering. I'm hoping to be able to make a meet one day as I want to put some faces to the names I know. Aileenx

yes james, i have added you to the list as maz said the castle is a harvester...but is a bit of a hike from the station. The main reason i chose royal forset is because of the diabled access incase anyone couldnt manage the stairs, also it has a nice big carpark and is only 5 mins walk from the station.....I will add u as a maybe aillen, and perhaps you can let me know when u have decided xx

Hi Aileen, yes the Castle is a Harvester, but I don't think it has as much space as the Royal Forest. Woodford station on the central line is about a 15 min slow (uphill) walk from the Castle. You could also get a cab from there to the Royal Forest - probably about a fiver, but I could be a couple of quid out on that! Maz. XX

Glad the place has undergone a make-over because it is a lovely big building in a nice location...sounds good! Hope I can come. Just as an aside, have you considered the Castle in Woodford New Road (I think)? I'm sure it was a Harvester the last time I went and I guess it would be quite close to a Central line station (not sure tho)...haven't been there for about 5 years.....sorry not being much help here am I!! LOLOL

A few years ago I also walked out because the food was so bad, but Webster & I visited there for lunch the other day and the pub has been completed renovated and redecorated. The food was good with a good choice in the menu and there was plenty of room. Chingford Station is just a short walk away and if people want to stay in the evening , there are other restaurants in Chingford or we can go into London.
