CHAPTER NINETEEN It was a cold damp morning on GRrrr St, Joy De Verve had just come out of her house, weighed down with flowers for the church. It was her turn on the flower rota and she took her church duties very seriously.( nothing at all to do with the fact Robsin Hoodly was a church warden) Her hat, firmly pulled down on her head, and shoulders straight, she set off for the church. Just before she turned the corner, out of number 12 came Terenda wafflegob.. dashing out to catch Maggie Blanche Ristol before she went to the newsagent to size up the obiteries columns in the paper. Maggie loved a good funeral. Maggie was just opening her frontt door… “ ‘ere, Mags.. you never guess what” Terenda rushed on without saying good morning, “ that Sheila, from Sheilas wheels has sacked that Steve mc boffin for flirting too much with the customers..specially that Polly Annidin” Maggie sucked her cheeks in “ yeah well that polly is a bit of a rum one anyway, I heard she was planning a kissathon for that children in need tonight..” Terenda interrupted “that Steve will be first in the queue!” Maggie laughed “ooh I don’t know, he quite fancies that Hellena bellbottom.. she does things with a leek.. well… you can imagine” Terenda pondered” I quite like cockaleekie soup” Meanwhile, over at Fondent Fancies, Guin De Vere was struggling to wake up, she had, had such terrible nightmares lately involving john Prescott and an intercity 125. She looked down at her pet cat, jonny Depp and sighed, “ I really must go and see Rose Clacton and get something to help me sleep, this is really affecting my Viennese whirls… Guin, wearily got out of bed and wnet over to her bedroom window, on opening the curtains she was shocked to see none other than Rose, creeping along the street.. walking rather stiffly towards the surgery… hoping nobody would see her.. What on earth had the GP been up to last night? |
