I have also put this song on Muffs thread, I love it! Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow Oh the weather outside is frightful But the fire is so delightful And since we've no place to go Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! It doesn't show signs of stopping And I've bought some corn for popping The lights are turned way down low Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! When we finally kiss goodnight How I'll hate going out in the storm! But if you'll really hold me tight All the way home I'll be warm The fire is slowly dying And, my dear, we're still goodbying But as long as you love me so Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow!

Tonight I spent a little time To come up with another rhyme, Then posting it, sat in my gaff I hoped to make somebody laugh; So come on friends, those not in bed, Just click your mouse upon this thread And add a rhyme, for if you do, You'll bring a smile to you know who. ((((Huggles))))

MERRY CHRISTMAS ??? There's the holly and the ivy Hung on the kitchen wall, There's a lovely sprig of mistletoe Hung up there in the hall, There's lots of frosty patterns All across the window pane, These are the signs of joy and cheer, Yes, it's Christmas Day again. Standing in the corner There's a lovely Christmas tree, With presents strewn around it For all the family, Oh, see the children's faces, There broad smiles can be seen, Showing that they're really glad That Santa Claus has been. Just watch their busy fingers Untie the parcel's string, What has Santa brought for me ? They all are wondering, There's a brand new pipe for father, And bedroom slippers for mam, There's a football game for Jimmy And for Sal a doll and pram. Soon the table's laid out And then it's time to eat, And when they've took their places Mum fetches in the meat, There's lots of pork and turkey, Christmas pud and sparkling wine, And then there's nuts and chocolate, Oh ! is'nt Christmas Day divine. Then comes Christmas evening, There's mince pies and cakes for tea, Then when they've finished eating They sit and watch T.V. There's pop and crisps for all the kids And drinks for mum and dad, What a lovely Christmas Day ! It's the best they've ever had. Boxing Day comes round again And they all stop in bed, The kids have got the tummy ache, Mum and dad an awful head, And they're taking salts and tablets To try and ease their pain, Well, they had a Merry Christmas, But, they went too far, again. The seasons greetings to you all Jeff PMSL

Dear Caz, Thanks for your comment, but I have been told that it's rather expensive to get things published. Anyhow love, most of my poems are in the Lancashire Dialect and there may not be a big market for that sort of stuff these days. Still, I'm quite happy to share them with people on here and Joy seems to like them. I've done a few for her, hope it keeps her happy. Best wishes Jeff x

If I had lived long years ago and seen on Christmas night a strange star in the sky aglow I think perhaps I might Have followed close the wise men three, the little holy child to see They brought him presents-rich and rare, I would have brought one too and laid it with the treasures there- perhaps a ball of blue or else a rabbit soft and small for Him to cuddle in the stall I was not there and so you see- I could not bring Him joy That's why at Christmas time I take-a gift to others for his sake

A simple verse which reminds us that there are many less fortunate than ourselves which need our help. Oh, to have dwelt in Bethlehem When the star of the Lord shone bright ! To have sheltered the holy wanderers On that blessed Christmas night ! Hush ! such a glory was not for thee ; But that care may still be thine : For are there not little ones to aid For the sake of the Child divine ? Adelaide A. Procter.

As sparkly Santas go, I am somewhat lacking And before it is sussed, I must do some backtracking Maybe my preference for things green hath me over a barrel. But you see my reddened glow is not due to apparel For it were the sand-kissed rays of heaven's eye That warmed my bones, and caused my skin to fry So, like a beetroot, from foot to face I sit with nothing but a knotted hankie in place And so, it seems, another muddle ensues Of misunderstandings, and misread clues But perhaps it will be soothed by the brotherly cheer That always visits us ..................... at this time of year L

MY CHRISTMAS STORY ‘Santa’s on his way It’s time to go to sleep And don’t forget my bonny one You’ve promised not to peep’ My brothers woke me early Too early for my eyes I cried and woke my mother Imagine her surprise For there I stood full of fear Thinking I’d gone blind I was too young to understand T’was nothing of the kind With eyelids stuck together And siblings running free I stood their wondering glumly What was to become of me It was not fair I shouted Why does this happen to me My brothers had found their presents Underneath the Christmas tree Mother bathed my eyes quite gently With warm water and a cotton ball One eye opened quite reluctantly The other not at all Back to bed we all were sent The morning for to await Mother quietly told us 'Don't get up before it's eight' At eight o'clock that morning Her words they seemed quite wise For immediately on waking I opened up my eyes That Christmas Day I will remember Not for the gifts I had But on restoration of my sight For that I was most glad Many Christmases later, At school there was a request Collectors for the blind were sought And you can guess the rest I stood at Paddington Station Every day after school At weekends I was there all day long My friends thought it quite uncool I didn't worry what they said To me it just felt right I could make Christmas bearable For someone without sight That Christmas Day I will remember Not for the gifts I had But on restoration of my sight For that I was most glad
