Can I join in? I Saw Three Ships : I saw three ships come sailing in On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; I saw three ships come sailing in On Christmas Day in the morning. And what was in those ships all three, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day? And what was in those ships all three, On Christmas Day in the morning? The Virgin Mary and Christ were there, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; The Virgin Mary and Christ were there, On Christmas Day in the morning. Pray, wither sailed those ships all three, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; Pray, wither sailed those ships all three, On Christmas Day in the morning? O they sailed into Bethlehem, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; O they sailed into Bethlehem, On Christmas Day in the morning. And all the bells on earth shall ring, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; And all the bells on earth shall ring, On Christmas Day in the morning. And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; And all the Angels in Heaven shall sing, On Christmas Day in the morning. And all the souls on earth shall sing, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; And all the souls on earth shall sing, On Christmas Day in the morning. Then let us all rejoice again, On Christmas Day, on Christmas Day; Then let us all rejoice again, On Christmas Day in the morning Maureen |

Mau Little Jesus sweetly sleep reminds me of my Sunday school days. We had it drummed into us not to sing ro-ock you! Here is tonight's offering. Once in royal Davids city, Stood a lowly cattle shed, Where a mother laid her Baby, In a manger for His bed: Mary was that mother mild, Jesus Christ, her little Child. He came down to earth from heaven, Who is God and Lord of all, And His shelter was a stable, And His cradle was a stall: With the poor, and mean, and lowly, Lived on earth our Saviour holy. For He is our childhood's pattern; Day by day, like us, He grew; He was little, weak, and helpless, Tears and smiles, like us He knew; And He cares when we are sad, And he shares when we are glad. And our eyes at last shall see Him, Through His own redeeming love; For that Child so dear and gentle, Is our Lord in heaven above: And He leads His children on, To the place where He is gone. THE SHEPHERDS PIPE CAROL Going through the hills on a night all starry On the way to Bethlehem, Far away I heard a shepherd boy piping Angels brought this message: 'Dance and sing for joy that Christ the King is come to bring us peace on earth, and he's lying cradled there at Bethlehem' 'Tell me, shepherd boy piping tunes so merrily on the way to Bethlehem who will hear your tunes on these hills so lonely on the way to Bethlehem?' Angels brought this message: 'Dance and sing for joy that Christ the King is come to bring us peace on earth, and he's lying cradled there at Bethlehem' 'None may hear my pipes on these hills so lonely on the way to Bethlehem; But a King will hear me play sweet lullabies when I get to Bethlehem.' Angels in the sky came down from on high, Hovered o'er the manger where the babe was lying cradled in the arms of his mother Mary, sleeping now at Bethlehem. 'Where is this new King, shepherd boy piping merrily, Is he there at Bethlehem?' 'I will find him soon by the star shining brightly in the sky o'er Bethlehem.' Angels in the sky brought this message nigh: 'Dance and sing for joy that Christ the new-born King is come to bring peace on earth, and he's lying cradled there at Bethlehem.' 'May I come with you, shepherd boy piping merrily, Come with you to Bethlehem? Pay my homage too at the new King's cradle, is it far to Bethlehem?' Angels in the sky brought this message nigh: 'Dance and sing for joy that Christ the infant King is born this night in lowly stable yonder, Born for you at Bethlehem.' |

Christians, awake! Salute the happy morn whereon the Saviour of mankind was born; rise to adore the mystery of love which hosts of angels chanted from above; with them the joyful tidings first begun of God incarnate, and the Virgin's Son. Then to the watchful shepherds it was told, who heard the angelic herald's voice, 'Behold, I bring good tidings of a Saviour's birth to you and all the nations upon earth; this day hath God fulfilled His promised word, this day is born a Saviour, Christ the Lord.' He spoke, and straightway the celestial choir, in hymns of joy unknown before conspire; the praises of redeeming love they sang, and heaven's whole orb with hallelujahs rang; God's highest glory was their anthem still, 'On earth be peace, and unto men goodwill.' To Bethehem straight the enlightened shepherds ran, to see the wonder God had wrought for man; then to their flocks, still praising God, return, and their glad hearts with holy rapture burn; amazed, the wondrous tidings they proclaim, the first apostles of His infant fame. Then may we hope, the angelic hosts among, to sing, redeemed, a glad triumphal song; He that was born upon this joyful day around us all His glory shall display; saved by His love, incessant we shall sing eternal praise to heaven's almighty King. |

Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. For all is hushed, The world is sleeping, Holy Star its vigil keeping. Still, still, still, One can hear the falling snow. Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth. The night is peaceful all around you, Close your eyes, Let sleep surround you. Sleep, sleep, sleep, 'Tis the eve of our Saviour's birth. Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come. While guardian angels without number, Watch you as you sweetly slumber. Dream, dream, dream, Of the joyous day to come. |

God rest ye merry, gentlemen Let nothing you dismay Remember, Christ, our Saviour Was born on Christmas day To save us all from Satan's power When we were gone astray O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy In Bethlehem, in Israel, This blessed Babe was born And laid within a manger Upon this blessed morn The which His Mother Mary Did nothing take in scorn O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy From God our Heavenly Father A blessed Angel came; And unto certain Shepherds Brought tidings of the same: How that in Bethlehem was born The Son of God by Name. O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy 'Fear not then,' said the Angel, 'Let nothing you affright, This day is born a Saviour Of a pure Virgin bright, To free all those who trust in Him From Satan's power and might.' O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy The shepherds at those tidings Rejoiced much in mind, And left their flocks a-feeding In tempest, storm and wind: And went to Bethlehem straightway The Son of God to find. O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy And when they came to Bethlehem Where our dear Saviour lay, They found Him in a manger, Where oxen feed on hay; His Mother Mary kneeling down, Unto the Lord did pray. O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy Now to the Lord sing praises, All you within this place, And with true love and brotherhood Each other now embrace; This holy tide of Christmas All other doth deface. O tidings of comfort and joy, Comfort and joy O tidings of comfort and joy |

Mary, did you know That your baby boy will one day walk on water? Mary, did you know That your baby boy will save our sons and daughters? Did you know That your baby boy has come to make you new? This child that you've delivered Will soon deliver you Mary, did you know That your baby boy will give sight to a blind man? Mary, did you know That your baby boy will calm a storm with His hand? Did you know That your baby boy has walked where angels trod? And when you kiss your little baby You've kissed the face of God Mary, did you know? The blind will see The deaf will hear And the dead will live again The lame will leap The dumb will speak The praises of the Lamb Mary, did you know That your baby boy is Lord of all creation? Mary, did you know That your baby boy will one day rule the nations? Did you know That your baby boy is heaven's perfect Lamb? This sleeping child you're holding Is the Great I Am Oh Mary did you know? |

Away in a manger, No crib for a bed The little Lord Jesus Laid down His sweet head The stars in the bright sky Looked down where He lay The little Lord Jesus Asleep on the hay The cattle are lowing The poor Baby wakes But little Lord Jesus No crying He makes I love Thee, Lord Jesus Look down from the sky And stay by my side, Until morning is nigh. Be near me, Lord Jesus, I ask Thee to stay Close by me forever And love me I pray Bless all the dear children In Thy tender care And fit us for heaven To live with Thee there |

Awdrey, great minds think alike. I was thinking this afternoon that I would put that one up next! However, here is my alternative offering: O come, O come, Emmanuel And ransom captive Israel That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Rod of Jesse, free Thine own from Satan's tyranny From depths of Hell Thy people save And give them victory o'er the grave Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Day-Spring, come and cheer Our spirits by Thine advent here Disperse the gloomy clouds of night And death's dark shadows put to flight. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, Thou Key of David, come, And open wide our heavenly home; Make safe the way that leads on high, And close the path to misery. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel. O come, O come, Thou Lord of might, Who to Thy tribes, on Sinai's height, In ancient times did'st give the Law, In cloud, and majesty and awe. Rejoice! Rejoice! Emmanuel Shall come to thee, O Israel Angela |

O little town of Bethlehem How still we see thee lie Above thy deep and dreamless sleep The silent stars go by Yet in thy dark streets shineth The everlasting Light The hopes and fears of all the years Are met in thee tonight For Christ is born of Mary And gathered all above While mortals sleep, the angels keep Their watch of wondering love O morning stars together Proclaim the holy birth And praises sing to God the King And Peace to men on earth How silently, how silently The wondrous gift is given! So God imparts to human hearts The blessings of His heaven. No ear may his His coming, But in this world of sin, Where meek souls will receive him still, The dear Christ enters in. O holy Child of Bethlehem Descend to us, we pray Cast out our sin and enter in Be born to us today We hear the Christmas angels The great glad tidings tell O come to us, abide with us Our Lord Emmanuel |

Coventry Carol Lullay, Thou little tiny Child, By, by, lully, lullay. Lullay, Thou little tiny Child. By, by, lully, lullay. O sisters, too, how may we do, For to preserve this day; This poor Youngling for whom we sing, By, by, lully, lullay. Herod the King, in his raging, Charged he hath this day; His men of might, in his own sight, All children young, to slay. Then woe is me, poor Child, for Thee, And ever mourn and say; For Thy parting, nor say nor sing, By, by, lully, lullay. |

Unto us is born a Son, King of quires supernal: See on earth his life begun, Of lords the Lord eternal. Christ, from heaven descending low, Comes on earth a stranger; Ox and ass their owner know, Becradled in the manger. This did Herod sore affray, And grievously bewilder, So he gave the word to slay, And slew the little childer. Of his love and mercy mild This the Christmas story; And O that Mary's gentle child Might lead us up to glory. O and A, and A and O, Cum cantibus in choro, Let our merry organ go, Benedicamus Domino |
