And btw I deleted my comments cos Terry did and I didn't want to cause a big issue for Terrys sake!!!! If Terry would like to repost cool that's fine I just didn't understand what he was trying to say as it was a bit garbled. He said some stuff about size which no one understood. If you did, please fill us in and maybe we would understand his point better but no one jumped down his throat for his comments most of us i believe just didn't have a clue what he was on about. xx

It's true though, isn't it, that we all give our parents 'edited highlights' of our lives, and protect them, if we can, from the things we know they wouldn't like us doing or would worry about. :-) There is much in the world that is so sad. Frankly, I think it's between adults themselves if they wish to exchange money for 'sexual favours'. Not something I would do, but it really is a personal matter. I'm not sure I'm in favour of state run brothels, I'm more for the government keeping it's nose out of things that are best left private and trusting the population to take care of themselves for the most part. True, prostitution has been around for thousands of years, and so have the prejudices that judge the men and women who combine sexual activity and money and strive to keep emotion out of the equation. Maybe it's the prejudices we should work on changing.

Constance what's the prob ?? I have never said anything else hon. Read back please and see what I wrote - I have kept some of the stuff on here and deleted others but you can get the general gist. Terry can say what he likes I said that too , but he did admit that his comments may have caused offence - I didn't say that they had I just asked if I had understood them properly. I dont understand what your problem is?xx

Constance. I hope that I haven't put Rubygem Stone off posting in the future - not my intention at all. I was just shocked by the comment. I have said previously that I believed Terry had the perfect right to express his comment and that still stands. It is after all a public forum - I just wanted to make sure I understood what was being said and that I wasn't getting the wrong end of the stick. Terry please don't feel afraid to repost. I wasn't having a pop at you xx

Yes, Teresa, I agree with you. If you're referring to my comment, II wasn't suggesting that the perpetrator(s) of the recent murders is/are men. I was meaning that pretty much all violence against prostitutes is waged by men - and, quite honestly, it's far more likely that the girls in the news just now were murdered by men or a man than not. I must say that I feel for the men who have been arrested too - they may be innocent of any crime and if so their lives and reputations are in tatters already. Trial by media was a subject on another thread and is to be abhorred. There is supposed to be the concept of innocent until proven guilty but the media loses sight of that rather too often. Thank you for claryifying, Muffy. I got a little muddled as to what folks were really meaning! :-(

Hiya Theresa I was responding to Felicity with my answer hon, chances are though it probably will be a man as they seem to think that prostitutes are fair game (pardon the unintentional pun) I have two girls and I just think 'there but for the grace of god go I'. I can drum into them right and wrong and I can beg and plead that they don't take drugs. Ultimately though they will make their own choices. Just like those poor souls did. Whatever mistakes whether it be drugs or anything else these girls made they paid the highest of prices but they are ultimately still somebodys baby I can't forget thatxx

In my opinion, men should be prosecuted like they are in Sweden for paying for sex, in an industry which exploits women. Prostitution really saddens me..

I don't believe anyone has said that all prostitutes are users, just the ones in this case as it has been widely broadcast that they were. My thoughts are with their families this Christmas. Every mothers worst nightmare xx

While it's true that girls are generally compelled into prostitution rather than making a considered career choice, it's for a variety of reasons. It isn't accurate or fair to say that all prostitutes are drug users. It seems very sad to me that so many judgements are made and voiced about prostitutes and so few about the men who use them. I do understand the point that Errol was trying to make, but prostitution shouldn't be a high risk job. It's men's violence that makes it so. Most prostitutes don't earn much either and the ones that do are often having to pay 'protection' to a pimp - often another man. (Don't all jump on me at once - I know that there are plenty of brothel 'madams' too.)
