Weather report from West Wiltshire! Back from the school run, loads of idiots out driving this morning. It's slushy and mucky, and although the sky's brightening a bit, it's just started to snow again here. I've just rung Pat and we've made the very disappointing decision not to attempt it - so sorry Mags and everyone. OH says that part of the M4 is almost closed, and he passed one minor accident on his way to work (which is the same way I'd have to go). I also had chocs to bring - only Quality Street, very poor comparison to the hand piped chocs LOL - but sooo disappointed. It's also very cold here, only 1 degree, so bit concerned about actually making it back from Bristol safely. Mandy :(

Thanks for letting me know, Mandy and Pat. The sun is trying to come out here LOL - but the roads are attrocious, I know. Still waiting for a reply from Ann Morgan but it's only a few minutes since I sent her a message. I have to make the decision and it has to be that the meet is CANCELLED. Thanks everyone. Mags xxx

I shall miss meeting old friends (and Rick) and all those I have been looking foward to meeting for such a long time. I've now heard from Ann in Gloucester and sadly they won't be able to make it either - a very wise decision given the chaos on the roads right now. I am waiting to get confirmation from Ann Morgan that she has received my message but it looks like the lunch will be cancelled. Will confirm asap Mags xxx

Have e mailed you Mags. roads not good at all here. We didn't think it would be very responsible to travel on the motorways in case more comes down later. didn't want to be one of thos people yous ee on tV sitting in our car in 2 foot of snow. such a shame after all your organising and some lovely people I wanted to meet. OHHHHHHHHH CHRIS! Our surprise guest ain't coming! I am gutted too. I understand completely. Hopefully we can catch up later in the year. IF I can get hold of EVERYONE, then it probably would be best to cancel BUT I will confirm that as soon as I can. It's raining in Frome ! But it had snowed earlier. Surrounding areas look a bit grim on the TV. I could probably get to Mandy's OK at the moment but who knows what it will be like later? I will await an executive decision from those worst affected. Pat

Just had a message from Jan to say that the roads are gridlocked around Bristol. That may improve later, you never know but it does look as if travel by road or rail will be difficult. Please would those that were due to come let me know whether or not you are still going to be able to make it. Mags xxx
