Mam smaked me and bro if need until we were about 8, after that she only had to count to 3 and we would toe the line. It never did either of us any harm as we knew our boundries and wouldn't cross it on fear of a smack. We only feared the smack, not mam as she was so caring when we were good that we felt bad when she had to smack us as you could see the tear in her eye where her heart was breaking. Dad never layed a finger on either of us, he bark was enough to send us running. |

Oh let me think ....................... Yep I got smacked, yes it hurt, yes it made me behave, no it didn't leave lasting damage it left a child that grew into an adult knowing right from wrong. Do I smack mine - no- why because I only have to look at them and they know they have pressed the wrong button. I do however chase them and say 'You had better run cus if I catch you you;ll be sorry' Both now run for their county - lol, seriously they do!!!!!! |

Violence doesn't solve anything. Sorry hay's. Thing is if you smack a child it may discipline them for a while but when they don't listen to that smack anymore what do you do next, hit them harder. Sorry I think there's other ways to discipline a child. |
