Afternoon Kathleen,Brenda ,and anyone else who happens by .
Been to the metro centre today and got my new nokia put onto vodaphone ,and went to 03 and purchased a brand new skype phone lol, i can now phone anyone in the world for as long as i like free of charge, good news to a scot he he.
I have 100 free minutes a month talk time in the uk ,and ditto text messages ,and so i reckon i am well sorted ,all i need now is to get buddies skype phone numbers and i am set to go.
Not a bad contract either ,£7-50 monthly with no hidden charges, but it means i no longer need to lug the lappy around town looking for free wi fi when i have that phone in my pocket ,how neat is that?
Not Bad eh,Brenda?,sitting in that bakery in fleetwood ,talking to mates in oz or canada ,and new zealand ,orrrr even blighty ,free of charge [ a scotties dream he he].
Freds day off today ,well spent to ,or will be when the phone is up and running so,i will go andget the tea while it is charging, and tonight ,i will peruse the instructions instead of read a book .
Catch you all later,Fred.

goodmorning at the moment there is a cool breeze but we are in for a scorcher I have to get myskates on as this is a busy day will do 4hrs more training and then it is on to picking up two of the children and all of us getting glammed up for bryan's graduation , he and I had a great dinner last night at the wing place he introduced me to gar par which turned out to be onion rings covered in a garlic and parmasean sauce very good quite light and the onion rings were not greasy he had wings and I had fish and chips!!! then he had a blizzard at the dairy queen (ice cream shop), it is fun to have time with the children one on one quite special really as you learn all about the hopes and dreams. the humidex will hit 38 to-day , I am watching as much tennis as I can though I think that I will miss rogers match to-day live but can see a replay on the computor this evening later on. oh yes we now get law and order uk on the tele on thursday nights the lead detective is a familiar actor to me bradley something or other did he play in coronation street!!, well it is time to get the day started brenda I hope the bathroom is now finished and kathleen enjoyed your latest message bye for now dorothy

Good morning all, lovely sunny morning again - the second one as it was nice and warm yesterday also.
Not had the heating on Fred and at the moment have the setting down on the lowest. Hot water needs just a little cold added to make it right for bathing and shower so keeping it down for the time being to try to make up for all that electricity we used with the immersion heater and electric heaters - I dread to think what that bill will be.
Brenda, you are not having much luck with your bathroom, hope the leak gets sorted quickly. Pleased to hear you managed to sort out a holiday, hope you have a good break away.
Dorothy what a disappointment that the tennis was not on your TV - I watched Andy Murray for a while but had things to do so didn't see any other matches. Hope your new venture goes well, good to get something that brings in a little extra cash - and keeps you out of mischief!!! Mind you I do wonder how you find the time as you seem to keep very busy all the time.
I hope Sylvia and Johan are feeling better, it seems to have been one thing after another but Sylvia is always very positive about it all. Getting older does bring problems, we look forward to our families growing up and retiring from work, having some time to do other things - and then along comes something to upset our plans - life gets tedious don't it !!!
Wasn't there a song about that?
John - belated Happy Birthday and Anniversary greetings to you both. Hope that Gayle is able to start her treatment soon, it has been a long wait.
Have been trying to catch up a bit on my research - uncovered a skeleton or two on the way. Certainly looks as though some of my Aunties told a few big fibs - and they were so prim and proper as well. Have found a new fourth cousin - well I think he found me but between us we have confirmed quite a lot. This is my paternal grandmother's family - grandfather is a real puzzle being Irish. Irish research is a nightmare.
My granddaughter has just been offered a studio flat - she is thrilled to bits but now feeling a little bit guilty about leaving her Mum, she shouldn't as it will be better for them both in the long run. My daughter has her problems and Indira's health is suffering because of the stress. She is nearing the end of her college course, she has worked really hard but illness and other problems have made it all very difficult for her. Keeping my fingers crossed that her exams go well now.
Fred, never thought of putting mustard on the toast with sardines - tried it and it works really well. Don't think I will risk having champers in the bath - it is too much of a struggle to get out of the bath as it is (these old bones don't co-operate so well) I would probably be stuck there. Old age is not so much creeping up as coming at a full gallop !!

Have a great day all of you
Love
Kathleen

John Report 23 Jun 2009 04:34

Hi everyone
Gayle saw her surgeon a few days after 1 June comment, learnt a fistula was in her right arm just above the wrist. When the surgeon felt the area he said it felt as it was working which was then confirmed by an ultra-sound. The reason why they thought the fisula was working was due the severe swelling of her arm. Gayle sees the specialist on 17 July and we should know then when dialysis begins.
On Sunday I was 61 and today we celebrate our 36th wedding anniversary. Where has the years gone.
Take care, John

monday evening fred do try the champers and a bowl of strawberries as well it makes for a fun bath sorry that the new bath has leak brenda, well to-day was the best of times and the worst of times I will start with the worst wimbledon was not on the tele as they showed the golf final I was up at 6-30 showered and all ready for it I was not impressed, the best was I went for training with the charity and it went well the gray matter still works plus I got paid for it as well, two more mornings of training and then I should be good to go, as I will be doing this in my own home they pick up the cost for a 2nd phone line and a fax machine in time so that is not bad, these cost come out of a different fund supplied by a good bloke, to-morrow evening I am taking bryan for a belated birthday dinner to wild wings a chicken wing place he like he printed off a menu for me last evening showing that I can have some different salads seved in torteia bowls ( spelt that wrong, on wednesday the whole family are going t o the graduation it is going to be 30-35 on wed, bl--dy hot I shall melt that is it for me this evening bye for now dorothy

Weeeeell, what a morning here again ,cool ,a fret which is making everything damp, and it seems to be getting darker ,not lighter.
I did manage to get a load of stuff in last night after i had taken the bairns home, and am now left with just the beetroot and the late cabbage to go out.
I think for something to do ,i will go to town this morning for a mooch about ,a trip to the coast is a waste of time in this sort of weather.
Hi Dorothy ,he he ,kinky eh? never heard of champers in the bath before lol, whatever turns you on i suppose,or is it me that dosn't know how the other half lives ,the nearest i could manage is a glass of ginger beer he he.
We have the other female granddaughter stopping next weekend ,{Sophie] so ,if the weather is any better ,and that's a biiiig,if,we will go down Tynemouth for a picnic, you never know ,we may even bump in to Jenny if she is out and about.
Not long to go and our library reopens Brenda ,and i have loads of research to do ,that i can't do on line.plenty of skeletons rattling and waiting to get out of the cupboard methinks.
Nothing from Kathleen since she had the boiler and extra radiators put in ,wonder if she is lazing in the blessed warmth ,and also having one or two glasses of champers in the bath, could be catching this idea ,i had better hide the bottles we have, from Liz ,i have enough bother getting her out of the bath as it is he he.
Salad for dinner like me Brenda? with a little bit of grated dutch cheese and a red onion ,good for reducing the fat,my doc' told me to take a garlic capsule every night to help lower levels ,and it seems to work.
I like my sardines on toast too ,with a scraping of mustard on the toast instead of butter or marge, and a dusting of pepper and garlic powder ,you can't get more low fat than that.
I tend to use low fat mayo instead of salad cream because it is far lower in sugar and fat than salad cream which i use for sandwich fillings with egg ,or tuna and even use it on jackets ,one of my favourite meals ,as you say ,plenty of variety.
Time to go now and prise the wife out of bed ,gonna hide those perishing books of hers ,that way ,i may get her up at a decent hour lol.Catch you all later ,Fred.

Got the paint and John has painted the ceiling, two coats.we have all had a bath today and it was heaven, don't we take such things for granted!!! They are tiling the bathroom tomorrow and should be finished by Wednesday (I hope).just have the sink to plumb in ,then the towel rail, which is like a radiator and then put the new cabinet up for us.
Might have that champers whenits all done Dorothy.
Fred I am om CHolestrol tablets and have been put on this fat free /low fat regime by the doc,to bring down one of the bad fats in the blood.but to also loose weight. Not doing to bad just have to keep it interesting.
Off to watch tv now .See you soon Take care Brenda

Morning Brenda, the trams were off last time we were down too ,so ,i hope they have nearly finished the lines by now,i miss my rides right round the system ,and of course ,our bus passes are valid country wide, which means i can leave the car on site and relax.
We are hoping to get down again in a few weeks ,it will be nice to see the place again.
You are on low fats and i am on that ,plus a low sugar diet too,so we must be on the same sort of foods.
Are you on cholesteral tablets then? they certainly help to keep the fat levels down ,and i still have a little cheese from time to time and manage to get away with it,by limiting the size of the portions.
The weather here is still darned lousy lot's of rain and wind ,and i isssss bored ,can't get into the garden ,and there is tons of stuff to plant out [sigh] maybe it's time to grasp the nettle with the changing weather patterns and start planting rice instead of brassica lol.
Hope everyone is having a nice weekend despite conditions outside, and enjoying their time off.
Catch you all later. Fred.

Just a quick hello, had a good day today ,went to Bury with a friend ,she lives over Stockport way and can get the train to Piccadilly and then the tram with one ticket .however the trams are not running in town ,they are doing new tracks so she had to get on a bus from one side of town to the other to get the tram and I got on the tram near me ,we had a good walk round mainly the market ,she has been before but was very impressed. She wants to come again.
we now have the new bath and toilet installed,so will be having a good soak tomorrow .after John has painted the ceiling, before they tile the walls !!.

Morning all,all this talk of boilers ,baths and kitchen sinks ,crikey ,i think you lot with all these items going wrong has put the mokkers on my weather ,so stop it you hear ,Fred gets up this morning ,20 june ,nearly mid summer ,and has had to put the heating on.
I wouldn't worry too much about the missing water Brenda it couldn't have leaked much or it would have come through the ceiling,it has probably been absorbed by the wood and plaster.
Washing in the kitchen sink? i couldn't get IN the kitchen sink ,lol, not since i was a toddler in the war have i done that ,you lot must have all got Belfast sinks or even horse troughs he he.
Liz was pretty drained by the time we got home from the funeral and sat watching the cookery programmes for an hour or two ,but i don't think she was seeing anything if you know what i mean ,so come 9 pm ,i packed her off to bed.
I think it hit her that her cousin was younger than she, which makes one realise that we are all vunerable at that sort of age.
We have Jordan this weekend and Chris will be here by 10-30 am ,a full house lol,so i will do French Onion Soup for dinner with briosh, topped with Parmasan cheese, for tea ,lol ,i havn't a clue yet ,but i may do a madras curry ,or khorma which both the bairns like.
Have to take the boss her cuppa up now ,and see how she is this morning ,catch you later peeps Fred.

hi oh brenda the visions of washing in the kitchen sink wow how far we have come Ihope that it all gets fixed for you soon, you and kathleen have really had a lot to put up with. nothing much new at the moment just getting the place in order as it will be tennis and not much of anything else for the next two weeks, though on monday the opening day I do have a training session re doing calls for this community pick up service I think I mentioned it about a year ago they have been doing some changes to the program, now one can do this from home , they called me and asked if I was still interested so I said yes it will give me something to do plus some extra cash which will help to-wards a ticket home next year, and people in the area like the calls as the service picks up clothes small household goods etc, the service also has a store that supplies clothes to people who may have lost their homes to fires or are down ontheir luck. next week they say we are due for a heat wave temps in the high 80-90's from one extreme to the other, hope we hear from fred soon bye for now dorothy

Kathleen Report 18 Jun 2009 11:11

Good morning everyone, it's not a bad morning - bit cloudy and breezy but dry so hope to be able to tidy up a bit outside later.

Having the new boiler fitted - well it is fitted now, up and running and what a difference!! It should save me a fortune as it heats up so quickly. Two new radiators which completes what Chris had already done, much more efficient than the old ones, throws out more heat. Lovely man who is doing the work, will recommend him to Age Concern - very pleasant and doesn't leave loads of mess behind.

Can't stay any longer as he needs to switch the power off - it has been off most of the last couple of days so have to keep the computer turned off.

Catch up with you later.
Love
Kathleen
