Hi Everyone,well up to now have had a nice day again,went shopping with my sister ,who got all the items she was looking for !!
We did not have a lunch as such just a toasted teacake and a lovelly cup of coffe in BHS bit dear but nice,.
Weather was a bit chilly to say the least!! Bit of a cold wind was blowing so it was really cold in places.It was also quiet up there as it was not market day.
Still lokking for my shoes ,so might have another look if I am out tomorrow with my friends. Not had any arrangements yet so not sure if it is still on.!!

Evening all,had a great weekend,had a walk round Bury on saturday,got some bits and peices,got home and the plastering was finished it looks good. yesterday we did a bit of shopping for a couple of birthday presents,
today i met a friend in town and we had a chinese lunch.which was really great.
Tomorrow I am shopping with my sister in Bury,and might have lunch!
On wednesday I hope to see my other friends for a coffe and if i don't do lunch tomorrow with my sister I might have lunch with them!!.
Glad you have enjoyed your book,Dorothy think that book was No 1 over here .might get it from the library.Hope you have seen the photos from the holiday.
Fred hope you managed your shopping ok,got some seed potatoes last week ,some charlottes,John will sort out the bags again when he has done with the decorating.

goodmorning from a rainy barrie but at least no snow I have to say fred that the dole offices are really nuts when somone is trying to better their job chances they do not give them credit for it, it is the same over here it seems they would rather pay people to stay home which does not improve life for them, hopefully he will land a job soon he does deserve one. I spoke to anne yesterday she was getting ready to have the new boiker (now 5yrs old) fixed as some parts have rotted away and have a new upright radiator installed in the kitchen to the cost of a grand she is not a happy person but she is lucky that she can afford it. also she was mad about the closing of librarys by the new government and the forest etc.as she put it life in england is not great at the moment, one can only hope that it improves for everyone I had a nice afternoon with the two boys yesterday Laura was out with a friend and heard more details from bryan re the trip to aruba and Ian played his guitars for me , andrew and lindy went out for a short time looking at a piece of furniture they may buy we had a late lunch so a good time was had by all, now I am going to spring clean the kitchen just feel in the mood to do , hope you all enjoy this romantic day bye for now dorothy

Morning ladies,we have a nice morning just here ,sunny ,no wind [for a change] and pretty mild for the time of year.
I think i will do a bunny hop this morning [go from one Morrisons to the other ],the first one at the top of the baank for the fuel ,and a quick look to see if they have any large bags of potting compost in ,then off to the other where i will do a little shopping plus potting compost if the first store have none in ,2 bags for a fiver will do me fine and i can get a tenners worth in the boot no problem.
The grandson seems to be enjoying his visit to Poland and his missus ,lol,i hope he takes a couple of pics while he is there,too.
The eldest son Martin has completed his license courses on fork lift trucks ,to try giving himself even more chances of landing a job ,and got told off for doing it? ,the bloke behind the desk said he was unavailable for work while on the course.
The son said ,what would you rather me do ,sit at home on my butt ,or try to get even more qualifications to find employment,did i ask the government to pay for it ?,bloody dole offices ,there is no pleasing some people.he has applied for at least three jobs every week to try finding something.hopefully the interview this Wednesday will see him get a job at one of the bus/coach depots.
He has at least got his new car ,ready in case he lands this job ,he will need transport for the early starts ,and late finishes.
Well off to the shops it is ,and back for a lazy lunch ,left over spuds and cabbage,with some nut cutlets ,and gravy ,with a stir fry for tea.

hi brenda just a quick line I have just finished mo hayder's latest book that is out over here the title is "gone" it is a really good mystery I enjoyed it very much not as dark as some of her books you might enjoy it, no snow to-day I am going over to the family at noon for a visit . bye for now dorothy

goodmorning well brenda re the white stuff I was up at 8am this morning and could not see out of the window as the white stuff was falling fast and furious thick white fluffy flakes now at 9am it is clear as a bell I can see for miles so I guess it was a squall off the lake. so I shall pop out fast ot get the saturday paper and a few odds and ends before it blows in again. not much new over here this week one of ladies in the friday afternoon group is having a birthday on friday so I am in charge of the birthday cake there is a wonderful Italian shop across the road that bakes wonderful cakes so I think I shall splurge and pick one up there ,she has been a good friend to me she was the on that found me last year when I had that episode and got things into place re my son and the ambulance. my sister and her husband leave on the 24th for arizona and come back at the beginning of april they are driving from calgary so they will see quite a bit of the states meeting up with wayne's brother on the way down in vegas for two days and on the way back visiting palm beach to seesome church friends she is hoping for warm weather as calgary has had a bad winter well I shall go and pop out for a bit hope fred and liz are fine bye for now dorothy

We have had a good day weatherwise after a damp start.It was spring like again in the late afternoon.
Did not get to Bury ,but did get to the local pound shop near asda found a couple of bargains but had 2kilos of bird seed for my son to feed the birds in the park and could not carry much else.
Might go to Bury tomorrow while John sits in with the plasterer!!

Evening all,Its been a rather dismal day again here,rained first thing and then dried up with a milder wind than we have been having.
Have not been as busy as you fred,but could do with doing inside my car as well!!
Had my Spanish lesson this afternoon and we had to come out for a fire drill!! which put a dent in the time we had left. It is not as easy as i thought it would be as we cover grammar as well which is getting confusing to say the least and they rsay english can be difficult.!!
Still looking for a holiday but they are still a bit pricy.
Hope its not to long before you get your cuppa outside Fred and you make Hissy a happy bunny!!
Hope dorothy has not got too much white stuff knocking about!!
Hope its dry tomorrow as I might get up to Bury and have another wander round the pound shop and market,

Morning all ,wow ,what a loooooverrly morning warm [for us] sunny ,and fred decided to go out and clean the inside of the car out while i had the chance ,i checked all fluid levels checked the tyres too ,and ran the hoover over the floors before finishing off by polishing the dash ,and door insides.
Since coming in i have done the mornings washing up ,got the dinner prepared ,Tuna pie,brussels from the garden ,to go with cauli' and new potato's.and dusted upstairs .
Now ,time to play ,he he ,so when i have finished on here i will upload my calling card onto the new mobile ,and i'm ready to go ,lol.
I cancall Canada now for a connection charge of 4p,and call either a landline there .or a mobile for 2 p a minute ,so come on all you lot ,don't be shy .pm me Edith Les,Dorothy,this new phone is great ,i can even use it on holiday for the internet if i lose the computer connection ,at £2 for 7 days,how cool is that?

Another week of this sunshine ,and warminmg up and i may be able to go have my cuppa on the patio again ,lol,Hissy is already inviting me to do so ,and sulks when i say it's too cold yet ,it's okay for her with a lovely fur coat ,but i notice even that is coming out in clumps as she begins to get her summer coat.

goodmorning brenda hope john enjoyed the golf all our golf courses are covered in lots of snow, I did not re-arange the furniture as I like where it is just moved it and cleaned behind it, to-day I am going to catch up on some paper work and write some cards so I can get them mailed to-morrow on the way to the doc's, hope you enjoyed a walk around the pound store they are fun it is amazing what you can pick up.I was talking to an old friend in radcliffe yesterday and she was having nice weather near her house to-day it is still very cold snow on the way again but not here as yet. guess that is it for me for the moment take care bye dorothy

Morning all,from a very wet and cold Manchester,it was raining but seems to have stopped and John has gone to golf as the course is open,how long he is out is anyones guess.I am nipping out shortly to Morrisons as they have a few good bargains on,will call in Middleton as well as we need a couple of birthday presents for weekend.Hope to have a walk in the £1 shop.!!
John and david will be finishing of the stripping in the living room when he gets back from golf,Just hope the plasterer doesnot change the day he is coming.as the room looks like a bomb as hit as the walls are so patchy.
I really could do with good spring clean all over my house Dorothy,but can not re arrange things as there isn't the room,When we have done the living room we will hopefully do the dinning room but will have to have a BIG declutter as I have lots of stuff in my cabinets that never gets used.

goodmorning the snow has stopped but now we are in for several days of very very cold weather hope spring comes soon, the mushroom stir fry and the soup sounds great fred and the new hoover sound like it does a great job. I was able to do a major spring clean on the living room yesterday dry mopped the walls(they are painted) moved the furniture around and vacumed behind everything and polished it looked good so I treated myself to a chocolate bar in the evening. to-day it is the turn of the two bathrooms just in the mood to do allthis. also had fun re- arrangeing all my music cd's and played some of the classics at full volume as most of the neighbours on my floor are out all day so I don't think any one was disturbed, spoke to anne yesterday and she said the wind was bad in bury yesterday so I guess the wind is all over the place at home. menu for to-day fred is a small T-bone steak grilled and mashed spuds and swede and a side dish of coleslaw bought half a cabbage the other day the shop near me does that with both the green and red cabbage and it is great as sometime I don't need a very large one it only goes off they do tend to think of the seniors with the veg they sell . they also do small bags of chopped veg for the seniors with wrist problems that find it hard to chop things and don't charge any extra to do this well it is time to get on with my spring cleaning while I am in the mood bye for now dorothy

Evening all,well you both seem really busy with one thing and another.Have had an upset stomch today think I overdid the veggies and fruit yesterday ,as the othershave been ok.Was ok in the pm just really tired,did not have all my tea and just a cu.ppa of chicken soup in the early afternoon.
Missed going out with my friend ,she was ok about not meeting up we will do it next week,Tomorrow i am supposed to take another friend to see one ofour other friends ,hope i feel ok.should do and am having an early night.
John has almost done the new socket ,he had to stop as his back was playing up and he and David will strip the living room tomorrow ready for the plasterer on saturday.
We have had a lot of heavy wind today and tonight the rain changed to hail.The window was really battered.Hope the snow doesn't stay too long and so pleased the lads had a good holiday Dorothy,Fred hope the move when It comes goes ok for Sean,Better get my horlicks and of to bed,

afternoon all ,from a dry/wet/windy/not windy day he he,we are having fun at the moment with it all ,mainly because we are on the biggest hill [on the top of] the head of theTyne valley ,so when it starts it tends to whistle up the kilt .lol.ooooo it does smart he he.
The grandson goes out to Poland and his missus tomorrow morning for two weeks as his reward for staying on camp over Christmas ,covering for the other watches and when he comes back ,it looks as though he will be moving house to Fairford,as all the houses at Lyneham get sold off to developers.so we may be going down to help him shift,which will be nice [years since i have been on that camp.
The R A F will be paying for his fuel to go to work and back each shift,which in any case is only 5 miles from where he lives now
We were in another £ shop last week too Brenda ,after [and found 2 of those big storage bags that you put clothing and whatever in and then suck the air out. to reduce the size ,we have put quilts in them and hung them up in the wardrobe.
Tried the new cyclone hoover this morning after changing the bedding and by 'eck powerul isn't the word lol,i had the thing going full power and the head of the cleaning tool was stuck to the rug ,he he ,the rug slid when i pulled ,not the cleaning tool not the tool itself ,,this one is a lot quieter than the other two ,and i got quite close to Hissy before she heard it ,but she shot off as soon as she turned her head and saw how close it was.
We had a nice mushroom strir fry for dinner,and i have sorted out a tub of Leek and Potato soup for tea,so i am off for now to do a little work.

hi one and all it is snowing again to-day (monday)the fluffy stuff so it looks quite pretty sorry to hear about the damage to the library brenda I hate that kind of thing, yes I like to get a bargin and both isobelle and I do stock pile some times I think that it is a leftover from hearing stories from our mother re the war the lack of goods and after when they came available stocking up in case they became hard to get again, mind you I only buy things that I will use shampoo being one of them but prices in differerant stores make no sense for example the shampoo I use pantene was on sale at one store for 4-99 then I had a store coupon for one dollar off and then a 2 dollar off coupon from the manufactor with no limit, and then at the store round the corner it was 7-99 for the same thing both stores being drug stores(chemist's). we are finding that food prices are going up quite a bit and milk is a dreadful price that does not affect me as I don't use it only if company is coming as I take my coffee black. andrewa and bryan arrived home safely saturday and had a wonderful time andrew told me it is a beautiful island very clean and the food was wonderful he would recommend it as a good place ot visit and I think that they sampled all that the island had to offer bryan said he would love to go back again I am sure that when he saw the snow this am it comfirmed that for him well I think that I will spend some time doing a bit of housework to-day off to the doc's on thursday for a renewal of some drugs and I have a few questions for him perhaps a follow up m.i.r at some time to see if anything else is going on in my head I have had some weird pains lately that bother me a bit probably just a little over anxious I guess take care bye for now dorothy

Hi All,doesn't time fly could not get on my emails for some reason yesterday ,but it was back to normal to day.
Fred you don;t half seem to be getting the worse of the bad weather ,its been really windy and we have had lots of rain ,but everything was all ok.
Dorothy well done with the savings,thats what I like to hear,John can not understand why I buy shampoo at half price when I have one or two in the cupboard.
When I got to the library yesterday to return books and pick some up ,they had had a busy morning. When they got there at 9am some of the sides of the building (which is like a prefab ) had been kicked in again ,they did not actually get in the building could have been distdurbed,
The maintenence people were called out to fix the panels and the alarm which had a sensor on one of the panels which was kicked in.Then the electric was off because of a fire in a block of flats down the road,They could not do anything even have a cup of tea ,!! Just as well the new building has been started ,but will they have jobs because of the cutbacks!!

hi gosh fred you are having a time with the weather I hope it calms down for you soon and I am sorry to hear that you won't have your son with you over the holidays I do hope that he keeps safe in afghanistan it must be a worry for you and liz at times. brenda you have been very busy I see sortin out and de cluttering keep up the good work you put me to shame, I recieved more photo's and ndews from bryan I guess they had been fishing again and he caught a fish quite a large one of course I have forgotten what it is called but this time they were able to have it cooked at the hotel for lunch to-day (saturday ) and there was a photo of the finished dish and very well presented, apparently they leave at 5pm to-day my time 10 yours it sound like a good time was had by all so they won't land till about 11pm and they have the drive home, I had a good day shoppping to-day I was low on a lot of things and also had a long overdue haircut but I was pleased that a lot of things I needed were on sale plus I had a lot of coupons so over all I saved 39 dollars I was very pleased plus some things like toilet cleaner glass cleaner and the hair stuff I use along with being on sale for a good price also were buy one get one free so I am well and truly stocked up for quite a while, then I picked up a friend for lunch and used a gift card I had recieved for xmas so lunch for the 2 of us was free in a way at tim horton's a nice coffee shop etc. well that is it for me bye for now dorothy

Hi Brenda ,and anyone else who shows up today,i have had a lousy night what with the severe storm we had ,and driving rain ,lashing the back of the house.
All was well however ,he he ,we still have a roof,but i was worried for a while,early this morning.
Spent most of the morning squaring up the back garden ,the water butt took off in the wind and didn't stop till it hit the back fence,and as it flew off the stand ,it took the downpipe with it [luckily it wasn't damaged.
The birds feeder went flying again ,throwing seeds and fat balls every which way ,and best of all the chairs went down the patio ,and if the greenhouse door had of been open ,i reckon they would have landed up inside ,he he.
Everything is now as it should be ,and i have the whole garden planned as to where every thing is being planted.
You wouldn't have thought that i was organised if you could have seen what i did yesterday .lol.i fired up the bomb in the greenhouse andd shut the door ,only to realise half an hour later ,that the mastic gun was on the back bench,bu***r, i have to tie a hanky over my face ,hold my breath ,open the door and feel my way down the benches in the gloom till i find the gun and then beat a hasty retreat.
The wife of course was watching from the house and said as i came out of the smog ,that i looked like something out of a horror story [cheeky besom],i thought i looked more like Jessie James coming out of a bank vault.
We heard from Sean a few minutes ago with the news that he has to go to Afghanistan ,this coming September so it looks like another Christmas abroad ,oh ,well ,he did know that he would be sent off somewhere again shortly ,and he is used to taking the rough with the smooth.
Iamoff now to get some stuff out for the tea,the grand bairn arriving shortly,take care all ,Fred

Evening all.had a busy day again today,had to go and deliver cards tomy brothers and sisters houses ,take some bags of stuff to the charity shop and then visit my friend who has been redecorating,,she is on her own and does it all herself ,She has done it really nice,But it was a bit flooded as rain had come in under her back door ,which is in the dining room,she had not noticed it before,but she had carpet then,and now has laminated flooring which would not soak it up!! her caurtains touch the floor so were soaked!!!
After that I did the weekly shop,and when I got home I had a few phone calls to return,why does everyone phones at the same time? this happend the other night when I had three long phone calls one after the other.
Glad you are keeping busy fred ,puts me to shame.Hope you manage the holiday in Cypress.Liz and yourself deserve a good one with some sun.!!

The big de clutter is on again ,my sister is coming round when she is on holiday to get my wardrobrs sorted !! This has been happening for a good few months but noe she has named a day!!
