oh my goodness just had breakfast and then I saw what fred planned for this afternoon and of course I wish I had a time machine and could pop in for what sounds like a wonderful meal, going to be a rainy day to-day and to-morrow we have a general election one that no one seems to want for the first time since I was able to vote I have no idea who to vote for ,the prime minister stephen harper I have no use for I don't think he likes woman, and the others well not much hope with them though it does look like the n.d.p have a chance to be the opposition if harper gets another minority the liberals are the opposition at the moment what a mess. brenda I hope you are feeling better and moving around ok, yes fred I think that charles made a right mess of things but I think this young couple stand a good chance and seem to have their heads on the right way I wish them well and dare I say I hope the queen goes on for a long time and maybe charles will pop off before her (oh this could get me into the tower!!!) bye for now dorothy

Morning Dorothy, wow ,sounds like you have had a pretty busy few days, what with one thing and another, yep i agree about the wedding ,couldn't get into it at all,the horse that Charles married spoilt it for me,but each to their own ,i left Liz glued to the box ,and retired to the patio for a snooze in the shade ,he he.
Still havn.t ,and never will forgive Charles or the royal family for the way he Married Diana, not out of love for a beutiful woman ,but to use her as a baby machine to gain an heir.
The family set out to destroy Diana's dreams and her love ,that any sane man would give their eye teeth for ,and Charles ,all the pretence of love ,and all the time he was still bedding Camilla [the horse],no wonder Diana finished up confused and bitter.
Any way ,what comes around ,goes around as they say,and i don't think the british public will put up with this sad prince as their king, this should fall to one of his children.
The garden is looking good ,and my veggie patch is coming along nicely. The plum tree is loaded with fruit ,as is the apple ,we should do well this year, having already had two crumbles made from our rhubarb ,and last years frozen apple [smacks lips] ,lol
Too hot for cooking indoors today ,so we are firing up the B B Q for a lazy meal stretched out over four hours or so .
I have Cumberland ,lincolnshire ,and plain pork sausages on the menu, hot dogs, the home made pork and apple burgers, chicken breast sliced into strips ,and marinaded in lemon and dill sauce ,and another sauce of mint and dill ,for the other meat.
I have some rounds of bacon to grill as well ,and will be making a side salad ,complete with chopped hard boiled eggs ,with mayo ,and salad cream.
I am about to make my Bombay potato up ,which i will be adding a little extra corriander to,but ,as there are only four of us for this repast ,i will not be making the Sag Aloo this time.
Musn't forget the sliced onions in butter either ,a must for hot dogs ,to which i usually add an oxo cube.
Anyone thinking of coming had better get their bum in gear ,he he ,i kick off in three hours .
Hope every one is having a nice time ,enjoying the long weekend, and Brenda ,hope you are giving that leg a good rest before your holiday.
Catch you all later ,Fred.

hi one and all from a cool saturday morning my the last 2 days have been great but I am rather tired I was up early thursday am about 7-30 and the friends arrived at 4pm then we went off tot he pub for a lovely meal I decided to go to bed about 10 to have a sleep before the tv started with the wedding but did not sleep gave up at 2am so Isobelle and I watched the wedding start up and linda got up at 3am, we so enjoyed all the wedding and ate our way through all the stuff I had set out finishing up with steak pie and baked beans from the scottish bakery in brampton, they left at 3pm I hung in till 7pm and then went to bed and I have slept for 12hrs solid, if any of you are not interested in the royal wedding sorry if I have bored you but I thought it was smashing also looking at all the places I last saw in person 4yrs ago I walked up the mall last time I was over and of course the abbey is beyond words I see as usual fred that you are busy in the garden, brenda I do hope that your leg gets better soon, have they thought of doing a m.i.r on that knee to see what is going on inside, isobelle's phsyio is helping her at the moment, well I am off to watch a replay of all yesterdays happenings to see if I missed anything and to take a closer look at the fashions , but someone should give those york girls some help with fashion!!!! have a good week-end bye dorothy

Gooooood morning Campers, and every one else ,lol, from a dull ,at the moment ,but promising better north of England.
Sorry to have been missing for a few days ,but this time of year i am rather busy out in the gardens ,and by the time i get in at night ,i am to put it mildly rather tired ,he he.
The new fence out front is up ,but needs the supports left in place for a few days ,until the concrete plugs round the posts harden fully.
The new Tulip Magnolia seems to be settling in very well, and i am now happy with the layout ,all spaces filled ,and looking good.
My six pots of herbs in the greenhouse are through ,apart from the mint,so i am well happy with that ,and my tomato plants are all through, plenty of tomatoes this year to go with my four cucumber plants, and six courgette plants.
I now have the 6 Brussels in their buckets and the 16 Runner bean out in their growing positions, and all of the Asparagus plants are growing well ,so i look to be having a good season, with the two tattie barrels turned round and started again.
Tried setting up my Camping B B Q last night ,opened the legs and locked them in place ,and found that the instant B B Q packs in the foil trays fit in nicely ,which means that the carry B B Q will in itself stay nice and clean for putting back in the car boot, result or what?
We will be going down to Lancashire on the 9th may for a few days so i will give it a try out then ,and will use the new camera as well taking pics of the Southport shopping centre showing the Victorian arcades and buildings with the ultra wide streets very simular to Llandudno in wales, and Southports beutiful Parks and Lake.
The sis in law has got her new house ,and moves in a few weeks ,after the landlord finishes off the jobs that need doing after he bought it last month, this property is bigger than the last ,with a far larger back yard ,with room to get their car off the street at night ,and still plenty of space for pots ,and chairs, the table ,and Large B B Q ,and suprisingly ,the rent is the same as the last house.
Well ,hope every one is going to enjoy their second long weekend in a row ,lol,me plenty of time to lounge around on the patio ,the housework done ,and the garden very much sorted for this season
Catch you all later ,Fred.

Afternoon everyone,it started off fairly nice here this morning weatherwise.
But has turn really chilly and grey this afternoon.Went to the docs this morning and did not really get much ,just some cream, another type with a dystalgestic(sorry about spelling) but not the diclafenic one I asked for ,which i have been using and works.!!!
Just rub it in and take the paracetamol four times aday.keep doing some moderate excerise.and perhaps swimming!!!I told her we had a holiday booked and I was worried i would not be fit to go but she said lets just see how this works!!!
So I am not a happy bunny.I can not go on holiday whenI can hardly walk a hundred yards without having to stop because of the pain.!! But fingers crossed it all works like the doc said.!!
Enjoy your weekend with your friends Dorothy sound like you are having a good spread. And hope you get more info from your new found neice.
Hope you and yours have another good weekend Sally... New Brighton!! have only been there once when I was a lot younger, with Sunday school,do not remember much apart from the sunshine and the ferry ride/

Morning everyone ,wow ,what a change in the weather ,he he,i am glad we did go to the sons B B Q yesterday,a real belter ,and i got a couple of new recipes for the side dishes, namely a very nice Bombay, salad with chopped new potato's and red onion mixed with corriander .stem and leaves.well worth the five minutes it took to make.
The Rainbow trout ,he did with course ground pepper and sea salt, the inside laced with Rosemary sprigs ,chopped lemon grass ,and wild garlic leaves.the sides slit and filled with garlic butter.
We used Aldi's beefburgers this time far better than any other frozen burgers and !00% meat, really tasty.
The cumberland and lincoln sausages were nice too but i prefer the son's home made ones better.
I took down a jar of large hot dogs for the bairns ,as they prefer those to sausages, and thet did well each hot dog cut in half so that they fitted the buns[finger].
I was out in the garden by eight this morning ,needing the hedge trimmed back on the end so that the fencing fella's can get in to remove the old posts ,and put in the new ones, because they will be here tomorrow to get on with the job.
I had to keep my weather eye [pun] out too whilst getting the tattie barrels into place and then starting them both off ,because it looks like rain on the way,but it can please itself now ,jobs done ,i am indoors for the rest of the day.
You watch that leg Brenda,it ain't gonna' get any better with you prancing about on it like a dervish at a dancing party,,you need to take it easy ,and rest it ,i speaks from experience ,i does ,lol.
Hope everyone is having a nice time because it's back to the grindstone tomorrow apart from those over the pond who ,of course have the extra day off .
Catch you later all.Fred.

goodmorning as usual fred has got my mouth watering between what he was erating and cooking at his house and what he is going to have at his son's wow it all sounds fabulous the vegatables especially. brenda good luck with the clothes shopping I see from the ads from m&s that long skirts and maxi dresses are back in style they look great, no the weather has not improved rain and more rain for the next 7 days at least, andrew is coming by this am to take me to the library and do a bit of shopping as my head is a bit funny so I don't drive when this happens nothing to worry about it is just a thing that happens now and then from the little strokes plus it is a chance for me to have a chat with him on my own once in a while I like that, the easter dinner is also to-day andrew's dad is up for the week-end but I have decided not to go as the cold is still lingering and I don't want to pass it on. it will be nice for his dad to have some time with the grandchildren I thought andrew drove to ottawa last week but he flew so on his way back from the airport he picked his dad up on thursday . looking foreward to my two friends coming up on thursday to stay over and watch the wedding we will go out on thursday evening for a meal at the red bull pub near me they serve great food bangers and mash for me I think. hope you all enjoy the week-end and brenda hope david has a great birthday and you look after that leg bye for now dorothy ps where abouts does sally live with all this sunshine she is getting.

Well ,what a lazy old git i have been today, after finishing the long border in the front garden this morning ,and watering in the greenhouse ,i have done nowt, zilch ,nada, and have even had a snooze on the settee for good measure, and now have the cheek to yawn ,lol.
I see that some low life set fire to the Welsh national park this week ,causing untold damage and putting wild life at risk, while the fires burn out of control, when they catch the Ba****d responsible ,they should throw who ever it is into the middle of the inferno, and fan the flames.
I am gettin' spoilt this weekend ,the mid day meal being made for me twice in two days ,and very nice it was too ,a Morrison's cheese slice ,fresh steamed new potato's ,carrot ,and Calabrese, with a couple of Asparagus spears ,cut fresh this morning, lovely, and for the second evening running ,home made soup for tea.
Tomorrow it will be my turn to get the dinner,Turkey, home made corned beef, sage and onion country stuffing, roast potato, sweet potato, red onion and parsnip all in the same roasting tin, with small new potato's ,caramallised red cabbage.broad bean ,and diced buttered swede, with garden peas.all covered in a rich gravy,so ,anyone coming had better get their skates on ,lol.
Sunday we are out to dinner at the youngest sons ,down Wallsend ,a laid back ,slow B B Q with everything from hot dogs, home made pork burgers with philly cheese inside,Angus beef burgers with red onion ,and sweet peppers mixed in ,and a nice steamed rainbow trout ,and steamed salmon for the fish fanatics, both rod caught by yours truly and put down in the freezer for a special occasion ,which is really the house warming party, delayed by a month.
The chicken legs and thighs are to be done in the oven first to ensure they are cooked properly ,my insistance i'm afraid ,no chances with tummy bugs ,especially the young ones,my grandbairns are a precious gift with which i take no chances ,lol.
Sorry to hear that you canucks are still innundated with the white stuff, but i'm sure your spring will soon arrive.Dorothy .
Hope all of you are getting down to enjoying your first proper holiday of the year, have a good weekend all,Fred.

good morning gosh fred hope you don't get a sunburn after you have had your cornflakes but enjoy the good weather I awoke to snow on the roof tops and the cars but they promised us some sun to-day so it should melt soon it was not a heavy fall of snow. yes I did live near the market mom used to take me on a saturday morning in those days you just got off the bus at kay gardens and walked across to the open market and then into the inside market I think that burned down at one point of course this june 13th I will have lived in canada for dare I say it 54 years I was 15 when my dad was transferred over here, but walshaw and bury I think are in my very bones and heart I still think about most days, also having close contact with the rellies and my friend anne (we met at school at age 11) over the years and so many trips home it keeps it all so fresh for me, I do love all that canada has given me over the years so I have had the best of all worlds I reckon, up early to-day to watch the tennis from spain and of course to phone my grandson to wish him happy birthday before he went to school Ian is 12 to-day. you are right fred if I could pop over to the market I would hit the cheese stall if only to smell the stuff I also have to watch how much I eat cheese wise but the lancashire cheese with garlic that somehow got in my suitcase the last trip over plus the stilton with apricots for a friend was great and they vacum pack it for you it was only when I was standing in customs and saw the signs that said that it was not an item that was allowed that I got a bit nervous I thought being vacum packe it would be no problem and I did get through ok of course they never asked if I had any. well back to the tennis enjoy all the sunshine and happy easter to you and liz and the family bye dorothy
