badger Report 6 Sep 2011 10:38

Morning our Brenda, the soup sounds a good idea ,as always ,and properly made is a meal in itself if you slice a nice fresh French stick or batton to go with it,yum.and of course ,as you say ,good for the waistline ,and pocket.
Sean and wife leave today as he has to be on camp tomorrow afternoon to recieve his going away present, lol, one triple injection that i remember so well ,ouch, and ouch again.
i have been busy this morning preparing his Christmas dinner ,and stuffing ,which will have to last him until he comes home march ,next year.
This afternoon i have a job and a half on ,the clearing out of the upstairs freezer so that i can defrost it ,bring all the old stuff to the top ,in preperation for getting all the Christmas stuff in ,and leaving the very top of the freezer clear for the Christmas meat that will all come from my friends farm up the road,
The reason for the getting in of the christmas gear is simply that the fuel offer is on atMorrisons this week ,so we get all this stuff in before going down to Fleetwood this next Sunday so that we can fill the car up at the discount price before coming home.
Later on this month we will go down to help Sean pack all his stuff into crates ,so that he is ready to shift it to Brize as soon as he comes home off tour, the new house not being ready for four months.
I will take the time to get My Pics of the new Royal Wotton Basset while down there ,before the Raf move out of Lyneham..
I feel a lot better for the local villagers and the town now ,knowing that the Army is taking Lyneham over as a training base ,so the whole place will still be a forces economy area still ,so no job ,or shop losses for the local people:-).
ASs far as i know ,the runways will stay active too ,allowing the raf to fly equipment straight in for the army units ,taking the strain off the many country roads in the area.
Have to take some pics of the R a F housing estate and area too ,because there are many happy memories to keep ,from the last two years ,as well as some from many years ago when i was a training sprog in wiltshire and Oxfordshire.
Hope everyone is okay ,and hope Dorothy and family continue to be the bearers of good news about the injuries sustained just lately.
Catch you all later peoples,Fred. :-D

Morning all, hope you are all having better weather than we are,its very wet very grey and very windy.Just pleased I have not got to go out anywhere.!!!
Hope Dorothy and her friend are enjoying the tennis and their visit. together.
Going to sort out the bedding box later we have lots of pillow cases and a few sheets we don't use and even a quilt cover that got caught on something and ripped ,have tried patching and sewing it but it did not work,
Keeping the physio excerisies going and feeling a little relief from them.
Finding it hard to sleep on my back or left side after sleeping on my right for goodness knows how long.!!
Have been making a few pans of soup and have finally got John to see that they are good for the waist and the pocket.
Hope you are settling back to just the two of you Fred ,or is your granson still with you.? What date do you go to Fleetwood? We have about 12/13 weeks till we go to tenerife.Just hope my leg is a lot better by then.so I can do the walks we like.
Have my neices wedding in November so must get the diet going properley!!
Take care Hugs Brenda

badger Report 3 Sep 2011 15:54

afternoon troops ,and any visitors, tis only Fred reporting in after he took the family back home this pm,and getting them some shopping in on the way back to Fawdley.
The house is clean but upside down after the useless bu***r moved out on Friday but it won't take a lot of sorting to get it back to normal.
Must admoit though ,that it is nice to get our house back again ,and only a week until we go down to see the sis' in law ,in Fleetwood, nice ,time to chill out before getting the house ,and garden back into some sort of trim before the winter sets in.
I picked the last of the plums a while ago ,halved them ,put them in a plastic container and put them down in the freezer ,lol ,we have plans for them ,in a franzipan dough and a pastry case for Christmas.
The grandson is going to give me a hand this next week to lift the rhubarb out of it's bucket ,and place it in the huge urn we got for the Fruit tree that died off and then place it back into the corner to grow on.
The boxes of onion and parsnips we are going to move off the patio leaving it clear for table and chairs for the summer [if we ever get one] ,he he,the boxes are going to go in the border outside the back door ,along with the Rosemary bush and chive bush, wild garlic shrubs putting the whole border over to veggies and herbs.
We did very well with the beans this year ,and look forward to replanning next years veggie patch to get a better yet bean crop, which have refilled the freezers ready for the coming winter months.
The Christmas bird is already been ordered from my mate with the farm down the road who has branched out this last year, into pigs as well as poultry so i will get a nice pork joint from him too.
We have ordered a five bird roast from him, starting with a pea hen ,and going through the sizes up to finishing with a turkey inside the goose,,a touch of luxury for us ,but i'm sure the family will enjoy it.
Coupled with the home made corned beef joint that i do every year now ,we will be well catered for this year ,lol,so ,any potential visitors for the repast had better get their order in quick ,lol ;-).
The grandson has left us the key for the house in Lyneham so that we can get away for a few days towards Christmas, which will be nice and quiet for us after living in a town most of the year,
The villagers were worried for a good while over the coming closure of the airfield and their loss of livelihood with the loss of jobs ,and hurt to the shops and other small outlets in Wotton Basset ,but he grandson has told me that the villagers can relax ,the base is being kept open for the Army to use as a training base,so future jobs are assured ,and the shops and whatever will not lose out ,and ,in fact may become even busier than ever ,so ,a nice out come for all.
Nice t hear that things are getting better for Dorothy's family as well, and i hope they will continue in the same way ,if not better.
Going to close for now ,we have heaps of clearing up to do ,but are too tired to any more today,so it's a case of so much a day till we get ourselves back to square one ,inside ,and out.
Take care all ,back again tomorrow ,but i hope a bit later ,i need a lay in ,lol.Fred. :-D

Afternoon all.we have had a good day weather wise managed to get some washing done and out on the line.Physio went ok last night have somemore excercies,so we will see how they go ,also had a sort of massage on my back which was to loosen the parts that have become stiff, which is what is supposed to be causing the pain.
Not felt much difference today but Rome wasn't built in a day.!!
We had a nice afternoon yesterday when I went to lunch with my friend, the place was really busy ,as it was Spicey Wednesday when all the meals on offer are spicy ,curries, piri prir mexicsn etc.we had a piri piri chicken and it was a bit too spicy for me but my friend said it was ok for her.
Had coffe and ice cream at home needed the ice cream to cool my lips!!
Hope all your visits are going well.
Have a good weekend.

hi brenda hope you have had a nice lunch with your friend and that your leg is a little better, yes bryan had a better day yesterday and last evening he had 2 friends over for a visit and andrew was busy at the bar-b-que as they have good appetite's, lindy did recieve conformation that she has been hired back at the same school as last year doing a differant job it is called a palnning position in other words she covers kindergarten grades one three and six when the other teachers have their daily planning time I know it sounds strange but it is how they do things in the simco board so in other words she is at some point in the day teaching in all these grades. it fills in 8hrs. andrew said last night that the painter had done a good job the rooms look good to-day he is adding a 2nd coat of stain to the deck and that should be that. I am popping out shortly to the store a friend is taking me I have done the same for her in the past but it was nice off her to offer. hope all is well with fred and liz bye for now.

Hi everyone,
well you are certainly getting organised Dorothy, hope the shopping goes to plan.I did see the tennis in NY was in doubt due to the weather, but obviously its been ok.

thought it was getting a bit better with the physio but seems to be worse at times, will see what happends tomorrow night when I go for my next session..
Hopefully meeting my friend tomorrow for a late lunch, she works till 1pm, we usually met Thursday, which is her day off, but she is helping out with her neices child minding,as her sister in law ,who normally does it , is recoverying from an operation.
Glad to hear that your grandson is well on the mend, and hope it continues. Enjoy your visit with your friend

goodmorning I was up early about 6am and the weather looks like it is going to be very nice to-day I saw that bryan had a message for his pals onface book saying that no woner he was in so much pain they had drilled into his femur and shin I assume andrew removed the dressings as per doc'c instructions last evening so he was able to see the operative site then wrapped up again, he was able to get up the stairs yesterday with a little help so probably had a good sleep in his own bed. yes I hit the one shop yesterday brenda a great frozen food store and to-day I shall go and get the fresh veg etc, looking foreward to isobelle coming on wednesday, the tennis in new york got off to a good start yesterdy roger won and a young lady from england gave maria sharapove a good match she did lose but has great potential, andy does not play till wednesday but says he is very confidant I do hope he wins this, this coming week-end is a long holiday week-end and then all the children in the area go back to school so the shops are full with families buying back to school supplies and clothes the families that have been at their cottages all summer are all coming back into town so I shall be in the grocery store by 9am to miss the crowds . anne called yesterday and said it was raining she was not pleased well by for now hope all is well with fred and liz bye for now dorothy

Dorothy Report 29 Aug 2011 13:03

hi from barrie I guess if john supports united he must be pleased I gather that they won and rooney had a hat trick, bryan had a better day yesterday at least pain wise and was able ot do the standing four times a day quite well, and made it to the bathroom across the hall for a sponge bath oh he would not like me sharing those details. not sure what is happening to-day I may have to go and give andrew a hand Lindy has a teaching job interview this am. hope that she gets it she is a good teacher the system over here is strange she is interviewing for the job she had last year it is hard to get a permanant contract job in the simco board. tennis starts to-day from new york for the next 2 weeks and isobelle has decided to come up on wednesday till a week on sunday 11 days gosh I could use fred at the stove, so I need to do a big shop before wednesday. so I may be hit and miss for the next 11 days, so brenda take it easy and hopefully the exercises will help it does take a little while before they kick in, and again I hope fred and liz are well and enjoying the visititors bye for now dorothy

Afternoon folks,we had a bright start to the day ,but after about 9,30am it was downhill with the rain.!!
went out shopping just before the rain stated ,and was in the supermarket for an hour and half or more,When I came out it was raining but was not that heavy, but I got wet as I could not hold up an umbrella and push the trolly and then put away the shopping in the car.!!
Good job I did not wash my hair this morning !!!!
They had a summer sale on at the supermarket and I got two dresses and three tops for £25, which was great, all half price or under.Would not have got them ,had they not been in the sale,
It,s just about 4o'clock here so the op should nearly be starting.i am sure it will go well.
Is it keyhole ,with him coming home today ?
Not sure if my sister is coming over this weekend now as my brother in law wants to get some painting and varnishing finished.
Having oven fish and chips for tea and John and David will have mushy peas as well,
The weather reports from your side of the pond are notvery good at the moment hope it doesn't spread to your area Dorothy,

goodmorning nice weather this am after the storm last evening no tornado touched down in this area came say the same for other area's though. yes the chicken meal was ok and the roasted veg came out ok I don't often roast the vegs just for me just if I have company.bryan meets with the doc that puts him to sleep to-day in preparation for to-morrow. andrew is going to put a bed in the front family room so he does not have to climb the staircase as there is a bathroom on the main floor for the first few days at least. glad your wether is improving and that you have fun with the exercises isobelle is finding that they do help with her knee's. my mom used to do a really good leg of lamb lindy is the only one in my family that likes lamb andrew used to enjoy his grandma's but seems to have gone off it as he got older, well will see what surprises to-day brings take care and hope fred and liz are enjoying the time with their grandson bye for now dorothy
