Morning all from a very calm north east after the strongish winds yesterday ,maybe the back end of the very bad winds from Manchester that grew into the tornado, blimey our Brenda ,hope your new roof is okay and you still have the bushes upright in your garden. Bill has now gone to the Gibbo river up country for a week or so ,and is out of range from all but sattelite phones ,so he is having quiet conversations with the fish [trout & carp] which he likes to catch ,and then return to the river :-) . Sounds as though Dorothy is really heading into winter so i hope that log burner has a plentiful supply of fuel to keep the old homestead warm ,rather her than me ,i get cold and grumpy if the temperature drops below minus 3 never mind in the 20s[shudders at the thought.] :-0. Reading between the lines re your desk top .looks like your internet is blocked access wise ,but your nephew will be able to fix that for you no problem ,it should only take a couple of minutes to find a connection for you. I might try to get the wife out to get the shopping in today while the roads are okay ,and the air is okay for her breathing ,tonight the temperatures are set to plunge ,making the usual Thursday jaunt a no no. Don't know what to do for the dinner yet ,but i may pull some kale leaves out of the garden ,and make a Calgannon with a slice of chopped up bacon rasher ,and a little cheese ,and top it with a water poached egg . Well people ,the Christmas countdown has really started now ,today being the first of the month ,so i need to get out to post some cards that have to go overseas ,time is getting short he he .old Santa has his Elves polishing the sledge's runners and the reindeer's harness's before they start packing the presents ,lol. Catch you later all ,Fred. :-D.

Hi Brenda, just popped in to say Im still around. like a bad penny. Your weather sounds ominous, but we should be enjoying sunshine, never seen it so bad here, and almost Summer too. Sorted out my Computer that got a lightening shock, but lost my small computer that got flooded. Almost lost my tent last night due to heavy winds, had to stand outside in the rain, and hold onto it against the wind gusts to 110k. This morning I started to put up my emergency Zippy tent, and it snapped its Fibreglass rod, so will have to hold my big tent together with guy ropes, till it stops raining. and get another Smaller tent for emergencies. Hoped to move tomorrow, but not sure if I can now.
Sorry Fred, got cut of short yesterday, but didnt see you on line this morning Tue. try again this morning Wed .

Afternoon all.from a very windy and rainy Manchester, the weather was ok this morning ,but has gone down hill rapid in the last few hours,Was going to nip out to the post office for some stamps and also get a paper and a few bits at the local shop ,but the stamps can wait and we will make do without the papers and other bits .The wind is driving the rain on to the side window of the bay and it sounds so feirce, winter is definately here.Glad I have no washing to put out, Well done on the apples and veggies.Fred Iam sure you will enjoy them . Thanks for the offer of the printer Fred, will have a think about that ,just want to get the pc sorted first. Seems we have all had a few problems with them lately hope it does not last.or gets worse, Hope Bill gets sorted soon aswell, and his weather stays fine,my friend who lives in Victoria tells me they have had some hot weather lately. Better get on to my emails then do some more ironing. Take care <Brenda

Hi Brenda ,Dorothy from a veeeeery windy north east of england where i have only just been able to sign on myself .lol, couldn't get on via internet explorer ,or google ,so i hope this gremlin is getting over it's cold he he. I spent the early part of the morning harvesting ,and cooking my apples up ,ready for freezing ,and making apple crumbles for the winter ,he he ,and then did my veggies for the dinner. Sorry to hear your therapist still isn't too sure where your trouble lies ,but it's so hard to tell with any certainty,it was a long time before my doc' decided both the hips ,and back had the dreaded lurgy. Hope you enjoy your break ,anyway and just had a thought ,why don't you hang fire on the printer until march ,if you can? my present printer is only a year old ,an h P ,with wi fi ,and works perfectly, and the only reason i am changing it is that i wanted the print straight from my mobile for when i am on holiday enabling me to send photos straight to printer ,without the need for a computer . You are welcome to it so long as you can collect at Cleveleys or fleetwood, and it will only cost you the petrol ,or bus fare and would save you some pennies. Poor old Bill ,never rains but it pours for him ,i was chatting to him yesterday ,when he went off air very abruptly .and it turns out ,the area was hit by really bad storms .lightning ,the lot .near storm force winds up to 90 mph.which ripped his tent to shreds, poor fella has only just replaced it after the last time. Norway has just copped a packet too ,90 metre waves in storm force to hurricane winds battering the beaches and many small island communities ,so ,i reckon ,all in all ,we have gotten away lightly Brenda. Off to find something to put in the top oven for dinner ,so that i can do a few apple crumbles at the same time ,lol, catch you later .Fred :-D

Morning again to all who may look in . Well ,we went to North shields yesterday ,and picked up the air fryer [Phillips] ,and saw the other item [blender] that we had been trying to get hold of for weeks ,so brought that as well. On the way to the door ,i happened on that printer Brenda [the wi fi one] ,that also enables any one with a mobile ,to send a pic straight to the printer, without the computer being on ,and it was under £50 so i added that to the tally and we came home stocked up for Christmas, but the wife wasn't too pleased when i told her she couldn't have ,even the blender until Christmas morning ,but a deal is a deal and wait she will lol .oooooo i isssss hard . Nice and calm outside this morning after the gale that went on nearly 20 hours in all,but up here ,we escaped the worst of it ,but it looks like the west of Scotland got hit pretty hard ,poor perishers. Nice to see Bill back on line ,he being hit even worse than Brenda with computer troubles necessitating a complete factory restore, but her looks to be sorted out now. Have to go to the daughters this morning to take a couple of letters up so we will stop and have a coffee as long as the husband is at work ,if not we won't be stopping the man being a total waste of space ,and a real pratt to boot. Hope every one is happy to be back at work after the weekend off ,he he ,never mind ,one day you will be retired too ,and can relax and let others work hard ,[evil chuckle] ,lol. Back later ,if anyone is still speaking to me after the last few lines of my message ,he he . :-D :-P. Fred. ;-)

Morning our Brenda ,,and i hope Dorothy who hopefully is looking in . Reading between the lines re the puter ,sounds as though you def need it restored to the factory settings ,as it sounds as though you have either missing files ,or an imbedded bug of some sort, both of which can be removed with a factory re install,,restore from earlier settings are no good in cases like this. Most printers now have wi fi installed ,and i actually saw one for under £50 in Currys two days ago which also had a dongle usb on board ,meaning you can actually send pics straight to the printer from your phone direct ,no computer needed at all .hmmmmmm ,might just go for one myself he he :-). Yep ,the morning we were due to come back ,hailstones woke me up at 5 am ,rattling off the roof of the van ,lol, what a racket . We left site at 9-30 am ,and were home by 12-15 pm, an un eventful trip ,apart from the gusts of wind and driving rain ,coupled with bad road spray, nothing that was cause for worry ,apart from a few idiots who were belting up the motorway at 70 mph and higher ,lordy lord . some drivers think they are superhuman ,somehow being able to see through clouds of water thrown up by lorries ,bloody clowns. What really pi***s me off ,is that they normally cause an accident ,but they get away with it ,but injure or kill ,some one who is driving sensibly :-|. Woe betide anyone who does that and gets caught by my car safety cameras ,because i would have no hesitation in dropping them in deep S**t by giving the police the footage for prosecution purposes. These cameras make me drive more carefully too ,as if i cause an accident i would drop myself in the S**t too ,a double edged sword lol. :-). Hows your wind down there Brenda ,it is horrific up here this morning ,lol, getting up i opened the blinds to see my water barrel thrown off the stand and halfway up the veggie patch ,oh well ,it saves me empting it ,lol, only trouble is ,the veggie patch has soaked up the 50 odd gallons of water ,no way am i walking on that lot till it drys out ,paddy field isn't in it at the moment :-D. I have to go out in it too ,despite the wind set to increase later today ,i have to go to North Shields to pick up the air fry i ordered ,there being none left in our local Currys store ,a load being brought as Christmas presents ,by people wanting better ways to cook fried foods in healthier ways ,this air fry being much better than those acti fry cookers that use oils ,,the air fry uses only the oil that was used in the manufacture of the products ,chips ,fish portions and chicken,so i am looking forward to crispy well cooked stuff ,instead of soggy foods. Hope everyone is having a good weekend Out of the wind ,and snow ,whatever ,lol, take care all, back later ,Fred. :-D

Morning all,we are rather damp here this morning as we have some rain!! Yesterday we had some hailstones ,luckily it was when i wasin the supermarket so missed it.!! Hope you got home ok Fred and did not have any delays anywhere. My nephew is taking the pc to his house and working on it there,it now just shows a message about contacting the soft/ware /hardware supplier.!!! Luckily I have a few contacts who can get some discount at certain electrical places ,and David can sget discount at Tesco .as long as I am not too fussy about what I want. Might have to have it as part of my christmas presssies ,!!! Have wanted a WIFI printer to go with the lap top but was making do with the memory stick and then putting it on the other pc and printing off, Off out to the library soon.then might have a gander at the new Sainsburys that has just reopened, they built a new store at the other end of the retail park, demolished the old one along with three other stores, and now its all opened again.have been told one of the stores which was demolished has a "shop" inside the the new supermarket. Have done most of the alterations to the trousers I am taking on holiday, just one more pair to do .Have been ironing a few bits each day as well. Better get ready to go to the library. Hope you all have a good weekend. Brenda

Hi Brenda,we are off at around 9-30 this morning so should be home by the time the light starts to go ,and the sky here knows we are homeward bound ,because it is crying ,lol. The bit i ordered for the sis in law ,arrived yesterday ,but she ,of course was at work ,so the parcel is waiting to be picked up at the Fleetwood post office this morning. Ruddy amazing ,the parcel ,ordered on the 22 arrives on the 24th all the way from CHINA,huh ,we have no chance of competing with the asian countries when they can post ,and deliver parcel far quicker than our post office can deliver from Newcastle to Tynemouth, how do they do it ,he he You could do worse than ordering your stuff via e-bay Brenda, the stuff is best quality ,from computers to hand bags ,nearly as quick as a trip to town ,and lots cheaper, £200 off some gear like laptops and cameras . The laptop i am using now came from Currys ,but the one my grandson uses came via e-bay ,£130 cheaper than mine ,and just as good.an h p g70. Catch you when i get home Fred. :-) .

Hi Fred and any one else looking in. My neices fella is coming over again to see what is wrong .But he is busy at work ,so I do not know when it will be,He knows we are going away at the end of next week so it will be before then,I want David to be here and listen to what he says as well,so he will see what is going on,(He seems to think its nothing to do with him when it isn't working !!!) I am also reading my Senior pcs text book but am still trying to understand it but its supposed to be really easy to understand,!!! Glad you have enjoyed your meals out Fred.. I was looking forward to a chinese meal last night before the theater but we ended up in Macdonalds!!!( Long story ) The fryer thing sounds good, and well done on the other item. John would like a new golfing bag ,to go with the trolley he bought a few months ago,but he says they are expensive so he will wait til the sales. I can't make my mind up,a new camera,a cake mixer,or a bigger tv for the bed room,!!! Better get back to the alterations I need to do to my trousers for the holiday. Take care Brenda xx

Morning Brenda ,,reading between the lines re the computer ,i think you have lost some files somewhere if it is giving you trouble yet again, nothing that can't be fixed easily ,and i think you should get someone to do a factory restore for you,the settings to do this are in every computer or on a restore disc that comes with it at the time of purchase,it will put your puter right in no time . We did have two meals out yesterday ,one ,a brunch at [the Venue] right on the sea front where we had a melt done on a ciabatta/garlic toast, filled with turkey ,ham, and loin pork, covered with two sorts of cheese ,and apple sauce, really lovely. This is the place that fought for ,and got a top class Chef who left a famous hotel in Manchester to move on,and has taken over the whole Venue catering for the two huge function suites upstairs. This is the place that Carla Gran use for the parties and functions foe both their parks ,the other being Martin Mere,so i will soon know what the fare is like after Hazel goes there in December. Got the wife her Kindle G 3 at currys yesterday and slipped away while she was looking at a blender she wanted ,brought it and hid it in the cubby hole under the drivers seat.We looked at one of the new air fry gadgets too ,a little like actifry ,but the cooking done completely oil free so very healthy hmmmmmm, maybe an addition to the kitchen as a new chrissy present from both of us ,to both of us ,lol. The Tramway is back up to it,s usual standard ,and we had a very good meal there last night ,before coming back for a natter with the in laws. Today we are going to see if we can get a ride on one of these new trams ,before we go home ,they look very comfy and will be somewhat warmer than the old ones. Off now to start packing some of the stuff ,and clean the van out so that we go home knowing that it is as clean as it was when we came.Hope Dorothy is keeping warm ,and is well .catch you all later ,Fred. :-D

Morning all ,from the ex birthday boy ,still a little sleepy after a lousy night ,but hey ,the first one since we came down last Friday ,so ,not a bad average ,lol. We never got out for that meal last night because the sis in law forgot she had a doc's appointment for 6-30 so it was too late in the evening for us ,but no matter ,we are off to The Tramway tonight instead for our carvery, which will be our last treat before going home on Friday morning ,unless the weather clamps down up north, which means going home tomorrow ,can't afford to get stuck in snow with the missus in the car :-( . Last night was the first really chilly day since we got here and i left the heating on for a while after we went to bed to keep the chill out of the bedroom. I am thinking of getting the missus a Kindle G 3 for Christmas ,she being an avid reader and all ,room for plenty of books on it ,and able to download them from anywhere in the uk ,having an inbuilt wi fi ,and dongle, worth every penny i reckon ,as she will be able to read in bed without disturbing me with the rustling of pages as she turns them over ,lol, and not nearly so many books laying about the house. Hope everyone is now looking forward to the weekend ,i know i am ,i isssss missing my little furry boss something rotten ,he he,,one of these days i will find a spot where i can take her on holiday with us .lol.somewhere in Wales ,or Scotland would be nice. Time to make the brekkie ,peeps ,back later ,Fred. :-)

Morning to all out there in Blackpool and places around there ,from Cala Gran ,drab ,and cool now the sun has gone on holiday . This is the first morning ,since we got here that we are staying indoors for the day ,seeing as it's raining hard ,and we have no need to go outside. The new van is brilliant ,very comfy ,and warm ,and it looks like a nice day to soak in the bath again ,a real luxury in a caravan ,though this one is a proper residential model ,and i can say that if it came down to the wire ,i could very well live in one just like it,easy to keep clean ,on one level ,and nice and snug. Had a nice little bash on the 19th ,lol,a nice shepherds pie with the trimmings ,and a Dundee cake sort of for afters ,but we forgot a candle ,so it wasn't quite a birthday cake ,he he ,but it tasted good just the same .,lol, :-P. We have another luxury one at home which is going to be the Christmas cake ,,it isn't worth making one anymore ,we are on our own ,and most of it goes to waste ,criminal in todays world where so many are going hungry. The same with the chrissy pud ,i love to bits the quick one that the missus makes ,but it isn't viable to make the one at a time ,so we are down to buying one from Morrisons these days . Off to take the missus her morning cuppa ,but back later ,when i have the dinner sorted , Hope everyone is okay ,and bearing up Fred :-).
