Good morning everyone ,and to Sylvia ,a belated Anniversary wish ,it is nice to know you were home for that ,and that you and Johan got to spend it together. Hi Jude ,glad to hear that fat cat is feeling so much better now,he sounds as though madoc is going to get smacked again any time now lol,THEN,things will be back to normal. We will be going out to the shops shortly before the snow hits,we need to do it now because the wind is still pretty high and we may well get snowed in ,the first time this has happened since we moved here. Liz is about to get in touch with the heating firm ,to get a date for them to come out,but i do hope it will be fixed this wek seeing as Sean is due home for the week this coming weekend ,and for someone to come home from a lovely warm country to snow with little heating won't be very nice for him. Liz sort of took overt the puter yesterday so iv'e had to lay down a few ground rules lol.the puter is mine from getting up till three in the afternoon and then it is her's[no discussion] ,and i'm afraid if this dosn't go down too well ,she will have to buy her own heeeh. I have to be off to the shops now ,but hope to be back pretty shortly.See you all later.Fred. |

NEWS, NEWS, NEWS. YES, I AM BACK AND TO PROVE IT I AM HERE. I was discharged from the hospital on Friday 16th March, just a week after my operation. Mind you I cannot do very much at the moment. I have a nurse who comes in in the morning to wash and dress me and does my wounds and still have my help in the house once a week. We are coping. It was our wedding anniversary yesterday but we kept it low profile. Johan will be 81 on Thursday and here again we will keep it low profile. My operation was a success as they managed to do keyhole surgery, doing away with having to have a large wound to heal.My stomach is rather swollen from all the work they have been doing on my intestines. Yesterday I had very bad diarrehea (spelling?) but was told not to take anything as this is a natural process getting the bowels to work again. Tomorrow I have to go to the hospital to let them see the wounds and tomorrow afternoon my own doctor is coming to see me. She phoned several times whilst I was in hospital. I would like to thank all those who sent me cards, e-mails etc.etc. I really do appreciate this. Well, this is all for now, see you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx |

Morning all :o))) Wonder how Sylvia is doing today - be good to see her back on here:o)) Not been on this thread in ages, l tend to get carried away with the other threads, which is a shame cause it means l wast alot of time also:o((( Madoc is a treasure - he's been so much better since our trip away. The trainer will be here tomorrow afternoon - we are meeting a young chap who OH often see's whilst out on his walks - well recently Madoc has gone for him and grabbed his trousers - gawd knows why - soooooooo we are going to try and meet up with him (is'nt he kind to help out) and see what reaction we get. Its only when Madoc is on the bloomin lead. He's such a softie other wise - but as l have always said you can never trust any dog 100% - fingers crossed for us ALL Fat Cat is lording it l can tell you - he's permenantly on our bed at night now, how he has'nt been tossed off l'll never know !! lol He's back to his normal good health apart from being extra fussy with food. He needs his teeth cleaned which will be done asap - but the vets wanted him to have time to get over the last session!! By mistake the other week OH bought Whiskers instead of Felix, well he loved the w's at first but now grrrrrrr - he even turned his nose up at fresh cooked chicken yesterday, yet this morning he woofed the chicken back and his yogart - he'll eat the dried stuff, even with sore gums. Ok thats for now, must go and get on. Had three gorgeous cards this morning to open - one each from kids and the other to Grandma, happy mothers day from baby Eva aged 4 mths:o)))))))) mwahhhhh Take care all jude sarf wales :o) xx |

Morning to all the sleepyheads out there this morning. We [my son and i] managed to pick the new engine for his car up yesterday from Tattershall [Lincs]. It was a good trip down and back ,but talk about windy ,it's as well that we had the engine in the back on the way home because as the wind picked up we were getting blown about a bit,due to the fact that his rickman ranger is made of grp and pretty light. ,Some poor old farmer is going to be out of pocket this morning when his hauliers lorry gets to it's destination.lol.we never got close enough to see the lorry ,but from sleaford on the A 17 up to gateshead on the A 1 ,there was a little trail of squashed carrots on the carridge way and hard shoulder every few yards,so i reckon by the time it got to it's destination it will have been a lot lighter than when it left the farm. The wind really picked up last evening too,and when i got up this morning ,the bin out front had been blown over again, the table and chairs out back have moved over the other end of the patio, and the b ird bath has been smashed. On top of it all ,the wife decides to do the washing this morning and was going to put the washing on the line [deeeeer] i thought you lasses reckoned it was us males that were short of a few pence in the pound ,i doooooont think so lol[says Fred ,striking a blow for the men ]hee hee. It woul;d seem that Mia was sulking yesterday when the wife turned up at the sons with the grandson in tow but now Fred. She sulked for a long time before getting back to her normal self, and went mad at five oclock when the son and i turned up. While i was picking up the bits outside the back of the house this morning ,a little movement over to my right down at ground level caught my eye,and looking round i saw the wren on the rose stem,so my little freinds are starting to turn up again. It is rather cold again too ,so i reckon we will have snow by tonight or early tomorrow ,but i'm not too fussed ,we don't need to go out for anything,so what we havn't got ,we do without. Off now for a look around but hope to be back later if the boss will let me lol.Fred. |

Hiya all ,we just got indoors as the rain started ,so it looks as though we are indoors for the night. we have the car ordered now ,the note 1.4 litre manual ,with all the extras, colour latte ,a sort of light coffee which looks very nice. We will be taking delivery on the 16 june, just in time for the holiday, and that gives us timr to have the towbar fitted and the alarm swapped over. I'm glad we went into farm foods on the way home to get the milk, because we decided to have a nose abouit and came across two chicken balti with nan breads for £1.00 for the two, which are just the right size for us ,so we got them for the tea.. We also came across two fish and chips with peas for the sme price which will do me for when the boss decides she wants pizza [ugh] give me my fish and chips anyday,or a nice ,hot curry lol. Have to go peeps ,tea is ready, yum yum.T,v next while i let Liz loose on the puter lol.Fred. |

hi brenda yes I will do up the balcony when the good weather arrives, was awakened at 6 am this morning by a call from bury from the son of an older cousin of mine had died and he was not sure if anyone had called me they had not, so anne looked up last weeks bury times obits for me and found the cutting, she had gone to curves in radcliffe this am via walshaw and mentioned seeing one of the fields full of daffadills it sounded so nice, then at 9am I got a call my close friend here her daughters father in law died last night. sorry for all the doom amd gloom but the thought that spring is showing its head in the bury area was so nice to hear. had dinner to-night at my son and daughter in laws had a great time with the children they had been ski-ing this week and to-day was a hockey tournement so they are having a good week off school. |

Morning alll, bit of a cloudy day here, just back from the hairdressers, but at least it did not rain on me,usually does when i have had my hair done and i ahve not got my brolly with me. Nice to see you Bill, did get your message will reply right after this. Fred was looking at the Nissan Note myself ,John and I will have to go down to one car if I stop work so we need something between mine and his.and the Note took my fancy. Dorothy could you put any hanging baskets on the balcony and put a few bulbs in them ,my friend has some on hers . Going to town now for lunch with a friend, will have to make it the last lunch out for a few week as I have to get some weight off. I know we can have a sandwich and salad in places but we have not been going to those places just lately. Hope Sylvia is managing to look in and is on the mend Brenda |

Morning all ,and heeeeeello to Bill, nice of you to drop in Mate, and see you are getting yourself organized back in your old country. I was up with the larks this morning had some oatibix for breakkie [no sugar] and have to say ,it is quite tasty and nearly as good for you as porridge which will do me for the summer when a hot breakfast is the last thing on the mind. I then went out into the garden and pruned all the roses and started to tidy up the garden ready for kick off. Iv'e had to come in now as we are expecting a parcel ,and liz is still upstairs reading lol.by the time she got her butt downstairs ,the van driver would be in scotland on the evening shift hee hee. Later on i will go back out ,continue to take the old dead plants out and shift the bulbs away from the hedge and replace them with low growing ground cover plants so that the hedge trimmings don't damage them, the bulbs i will replant in other parts of the garden in the sun[when we get some] I really must remember to give the veggie patch a good dose of lime this year to keep the club root away ,we havn't had any yet ,and i want to keep it that way.which is the main reason i wont buy plants from a market garden ,there is always a chance that their soil may be infected and once you get it in the soil it's a bugger to shift. Well ,i'm going to have a swan around the boards now,and then hopefully it will be back out into my garden,[wahey] this is more like it lol. See you later.Fred. |

hi congratulations fred on the choice of car sounds really nice and I do envy you cutting the grass!!!! to-day it was 10 degree's and quite nice but still a lot of snow to melt, plus they say we are going to be cold again and snow this week-end I had an e-mail from a friend in the south and he has been cutting his lawn and his bulbs are up and in bloom makes me green with envy, so I wandered around the garden nursery looking at and smwlling all the pots of flowers, can't have bulbs etc in the house the cats eat them when they are in full bloom so any flowers I have to move in the bathroom over night or if i am goiongout, any more news on sylvia bye for now dorothy |

Hiya people's,cor .i'm a little late today but i got held up at bristol motors seeing about the car and wasn't happy with the astra and so we have decided to go with nissan again, only this time we will be getting a note which is very good value for money ,having loads of driver tools aboard lol. The seats are a lot higher too ,and they are far more comfortable than the other cars we have tried,so all we have to do now is find a colour hee hee ,i say we, but i have thrown this at Liz's door while i get on here and play catch up ,weeeeell,it will keep her out of my hair for an hour anyway. My,email addy for yahoo has been compromised and is letting loads of spam and junk email through ,so i am changing my addy this afternoon ,so i will be busy for a couple of hours informing people of the change over. I got the back lawn raked and cut last night ,and the front lawn raked ,but now the bins are full ,so i will have to wait a week for there to be enough room for the grass cuttings, but then it will be on to the edges which are pretty untidy to say the least, but never mind,i will get there in the end. Have a nice day everyone ,be back later.Fred. |
