Hi Everyone, just been checking a couple of things on the internet,train/coach fares and a travel firm who have my neices wedding list so we can make a contribution.,only I need a number which i don't have.So they will have a cheque as i was going to give them that anyway. Nice to see you Kathkeen, what a shame about the rose,I am always afraid that will happen when david offers to hep in the garden,!! It was abit better in the afternoon,we had a few queries from people which we could look at longer as we did not have any one else to deal with.Off to have a drink and then bed ,hopefully to sleep. take care,Brenda |

Hi all, Brenda, it does make the time drag when you're not busy - and you didn't have much sleep again last night. Maybe you will be better after your holiday, you probably need a break. Fred, lost my yellow rose - would you believe my son decided to actually make a start on digging some of the garden and obviously started by digging up the only rose I had left. The other two had been destroyed when the fence blew down a few years back but this one survived though a bit untidy and out of shape. Oh well, can't be helped. Hope you get everything sorted in your garden before you go on holiday and have a good time if I don't get back on before you go. Syvlia, pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday. I hope you are feeling well after your operation and that the surgeons are pleased with you - they should be you sound like a model patient. Hope everyone else is well God bless Love Kathleen |

Well there you go ,what a nice start to the day,our Sylvia back home and reports of a nice holiday to boot. Sounds as though you had a nice time Sylvia ,it's nice to be able to meet rellies when away on holiday too ,makes the break so much nicer too. Glad to see you back anyway ,cause it's Freds turn next week ,me and the boss off to the wilds of Scotland [well castle Douglass anyway lol] so it's nice to know someone is on hand to hold the fort with Brenda. The sun is trying to break through already so we may have a nice day for a change ,i would like to get the lawns done today before i go ,otherwise i will be cutting jungle when i get back and will have to strim the lawn before getting the mower out . I'm going to cheat with the car and take it to an iranian friend of mine to get it cleaned inside and out so thay we set off on holiday clean and sparkely. It costs £8 for a complete clean ,wax and polish, the insides cleaned including boot, the tyres cleaned and the inside finished off with a nice niff [if you know what i mean] .i usually give him the straight £10 though and get a few extras like a cup of coffee while we wait lol. The boss is up ,so i had better go and get her cuppa before she throws a tantrum lol [only kidding'ouch] but she ain't a lot of good till she's had at least three cups ,before she condecends to grunt if i ask her a question ,after three cups she mellows a lot . Catch you all later when iv'e done a bit of research for a fellow member of Genes.Fred. |

Cooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, yes it's me, come back to join you all again. Johan and I have had a lovely mid-week break with fantastic weather, not a drop of rain in sight. We had a 3-bedroom bungalow in Landau Parks in the Eifel in Germany, a hilly region. All round the bungalow were wild violets and celadines etc. growing, and it was so quiet. It was nice having a big bungalow as I need the space. We made trips out to surrounding villages, enjoying just the simple life. This morning we visited Johan's sister and had coffee with her and her husband. She had a stroke some years ago and doesn't get out any more and hasn't many visitors. We usually visit her when we are going or returning to Germany as we more or less go past her house. The farmers here in the Netherlands are having to spray their crops with water as we have had no rain since 22nd March. Well must look at my e-mails now. Sylvia xxx |

Good mornig all you happy campers [or not ] but don't dismay ,the weekend is here again and most of you can chill out somewhat and enjoy what the weekend brings ,apart from the weather that is lol. I can't do anything outside today as it's been drizzling all night and is still doing the same at the minute, not that i am complaining mind because it was getting very dry out and this little lot will fill my butts up and refresh the gardens and lawns. I do hate days like this though because all i have to keep me going is the greenhouse to water ,and the housework to do [hee hee,i can hear the groans and grunts from here]. Can't stay i'm afraid ,i am having problems with msn again, and have to use internet explorer instead,i can't forward any email on msn but have no problem on internet explorer. Been in touch with microsoft which say the problem is my puter ,so i say to them ,if it's my puter that's the problem ,how is internet explore r working fine ,it has to be msn yes? the resonse ,silence hee hee,but i will keep on their backs over this one ,i aint paying for a premium service for this sort of garbage . See you later peeps [i hope lol] Fred. . |

Good morning all, from a sunny but cold Newcastle ,and i must say ,cor ,what a ruddy shock,me going to Scotland next week and snow expected by the weekend brrrrrrr. I think i will needto take the survival tent for the fishing ,gone are the days when i used to stand on the beach at the longsands in tynemouth at two in the morning on a cold February day, even King Edwards bay with the protection of the cliffs against the worst of the winds would be too much for me now [sniffle] 'ere ,this getting old isn't all it's cracked up to be,lol. Hope you enjoy your trip Dorothy, sounds really great to me ,and it will be nice for you to see rellies again. .Can't stay this morning peeps ,i have so much to do round the house and outside ,and on top of it i have a paf file to send out to my uncle down south in Tewksbury where he has a shop[or did] he may have retired by now seeing as he must be well into his seventies ,but he is a tough old bird and may still be going strong . See you all anon .Fred. |

hello well I have had a very exciting day but first our family dinner has been moved to saturday as lindy had a lecture this evening at the university, so we celebrate both her birthday and Ian's on saturday, but when my son phoned re the change in plans he also told me that we were via phone and his computor booking my trip home in august, it is an early mother's day(may 10th) and 65 th birthday gift (may 24)th. so I am leaving here on the 9th of august arriving in manchester the 10th and staying till the 12th of sept, I am so thrilled it is a lovely gift from the family he was able to use his airmiles for most of it, as I have mentioned he travels a lot so does accumalate many he said he had about 240,000 left he wants to take the five of them to disney world one of these days I think. so of course I was on the phone to anne in bury to give her the news, so she is very excited as well we will have a great visit. so that is it for me take care bye dorothy |

Morning all ,what a lovely morning up here where Fred is having an hour on the puter before going into the garden, for a while before it gets too warm. Going out with a fork to finish the patch out back that is going to be used for the sweetcorn, broad beans ,beetroot and carrot, and i have hidden the camera because i am off out with my shorts on [no photo's till i can say my legs are nice and brown]. One week today and Liz and i will be waking up in our caravan in Scotland [yipee] only for the short week but it's better than nothing and we can't stay any longer because the car will be going in shortly for it's first m.o.t,after which it's time to have it changed. It won't be all that long before the team arrive to fit the new combi, and valves either and we need to get squared away, but any nonsence about two hundred pounds to take the old one away and i will tell them to get stuffed,i will take it away myself if i have to,to the local council tip where it will cost me no more than the petrol i use to get there, tight scot that i am. The internet was down for two hours last night ,the first time it's happened to us in a couple of years, but Liz wasn't happy because she couldn't play her games ,ooooooh ,there was hell on ,she did her queen Victoria impression [i am not amused] lol I havn't done any recipies at the moment Brenda ,because we have been spoilt lately eating out a lot at the two sons, mostly chicken strips done in honey and corriander dip [home made] sausages done and covered in lemon and papreka sauce [heinz] ,that sort of thing ,done with a few buns, side salad ,and my usual rice salad that is so filling ,but fat free. The dish of the day was devilled kidneys and beef, salmon cut, done on top of the B b Q in a nice peppery sauce ,all braised toether til it was nice and tender, the beuty of going posh and using a gas B B Q so that you can keep complete control of the cooking. The birds are going daft here this morning ,i have about two dozen mixed dunnocks and spuggies fighting over the seed in the feeders ,a couple of thrushes eying each other up before commencing hostilities ,and my blackbird sitting there eying the both of them up .like an umpire hee hee,and i am going too spoil their fun very shortly by going out through the back door lol. Have a lovely day peeps ,and take care .Fred. |

Hello everyone, Brenda, you can almost hear that click as the light comes on in your head and once again you're wide awake - it's so frustrating as tired as you might feel the brain just keeps ticking away. Have not been too bad just lately but can never seem to manage more than 4 maybe 5 hours of sleep. Mind you it can be quite nice to see the sun rise when the day is all fresh and new, not so good though when you have to go to work. At least what I do can be done in my own time, don't have to stick to a timetable. Fred, want to ask you about those pesky rogue 'bluebells'. I have some come up in my front garden which I did not plant, think they might be the ones you mentioned a while back. They look different to the shorter ones I did plant in the back. These only seem to have flowers at the top of a long stalk - are they the ones that need to be pulled up? Those, a lot of wild violets and the usual daisies and dandelions are the only things growing in my front at the moment - though the rose I have been trying to get rid of is still fighting to survive. Trying to persuade someone to dig it up for me - it's way past it's best and needs to go. Sylvia, hope you enjoy your break - if you see this before you go, I'm probably too late now and you are on your way. Sal, I have found a number of relatives in Oz, some in Sydney unfortunately none seem inclined to stay in touch. They are cousins ranging from 2nd to 5th, the only one who has kept in touch (and I owe her an e-mail) is only related because my gt.aunt married her gt.grandfathers brother. Odd isn't it? Nice to see more people joining in. Bill, hope you get settled in Hamilton soon - been wondering how and where you were. Sorry my brain has hit a 'dead' spot and I can't remember any more names - except Jude and John. Hope you don't get too hard a winter John - and see you sometime soon Jude (even if I have to travel to Sarf Wales!!!) Have a nice day everyone, catch up with you all again soon. God bless Love Kathleen |
