Keep up the good work Fred and you never know you may be knighted by the queen. Shall I nominate you? You can then wear your best suit, but you'll have to have a wash as well - LOL. Had a quiet day today, making some more cards and doing some cross stitch. I did some household chores - well who else is going to do them? Fred doesn't live near enough to me! Johan is too busy writing his memoires that I can barely talk to him these days. Tomorrow we are off into town with a couple of boxes of clothes and linen for the recycling shop and then do a little shopping. Must have one or two things in the house in case of extra people dropping in. Next Tuesday my sister and brother in law are coming so will make a big pan of soup and have nice fresh bread rolls with it. They won't want to stay for dinner as it gets too late for them as they live in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Next Thursday my granddaughter is coming for dinner. She just phoned me up that she is free that day and is going to the dentist and her dentist has his practice beneath these flats so it is very convenient. See you tomorrow. Sylvia xxx

Good morning all, just back from the docs after a breathing test, and no worries ,it's no worse than last years tests ,so i am good for a while at least. While i was out yesterday i passed the farm ,or rather i WAS going to pass but decided to call in ,for a reason which will now be revealed, lol. Being a soft hearted fella as regards my birds in the garden,i scrouged a couple of handfulls of down ,and bought it home. This morning i scattered half of it on the patio ,and watched the spuggies ,dunnocks and finches fight over it ,feathers were flying so to speak,as they stuffed as many feathers in their beaks as they could ,and flew off to line their nests with it. The seed feeders need filled up every two days now ,and the amount of fat balls and bread we are going through is no ones bussiness hee hee,it costs as much to feed them as it does to feed Liz and myself, and the thanks we get is more poo dropped on the car hee hee. Off to the sons now to do more packing and storing ,but i will be back later today, take care all.Fred.

Hi all, Well we have been getting our share of the rain too, at last, but inbetween lovely and sunny. This morning had to go to the hospital for the umpteenth time. This time for the urologist as I cannot get rid of my cystitis. I now have another round of scans, etc.etc. Anyway we went into the hospital with it pouring with rain and when we came out again lots of warm sunshine. This afternoon had my help and when she had finished I decided to go to the supermarket to buy some extra milk as the shops are closed tomorrow. Tomorrow is Ascension Day and it is a public holiday and lots of people will also have Friday off, thus making a long weekend. I have decided to give myself a holiday and only do the things I want to do tomorrow. I hope it works out! I think I have a flower on my tomato plant. My herbs are doing well. Still don't know whether one should cut herbs or tear them off like they do in Ready, Steady, Cook. Anybody else know? Sylvia xxx

hello brenda wll it it is wet and rainy over here as well quite the storm the last two nights but the tree's are in full bloom and nice and green, nothing much new at the moment it is a long week-end this week-end (like a bank holiday). and people will be driving up to see how the cottages survived the winter so the highway will be very busy from thursday on. I may go down to brampton to my friends as the town get inundated with the the cottage crowds. hope that your weather improves bye for now dorothy

Today a mixture of sunshine and showers, but on the whole not too bad. I cleaned two kilos of white asparagus and froze it in. I made soup with the shavings from the asparagus and the bits cut from the ends. The soup was delicious and we had this for our lunch together with my homemade bread. I also pressed two litres oranges as I love fresh orange juice. I ran two washing machines and tidied the kitchen a bit. Johan was busy in the bathroom doing some alterations so I had to clean up after him, but I still had some time over for my cross stitch this afternoon. Oh, yes, I watched the video of the Eurovision Song Contest. Oh, what a lot of rubbish. Johan cannot understand why I watch it, but my reply is that I can at least give my opinion having seen and heard it. Have a nice evening everybody. Congratulations Jude on becoming grandma. morning troops ,was your weekend okay? we did have a busy one ,but did well yesterday by donning wet gear and getting out into the garden to put a load of the veggie stuff in.I worked outside ,whilst Liz went into the greenhouse to see to the tomatoes and cucumber plants. I had got halfway through putting the corn out when the heavens opened again, but i though ,they need to go out now ,and i'm already wet ,so i just put my head down and carried on.lol. By the time i had the broad bean plants in ,i sort of looked sideways to see if Rattie ,Mole ,and Badger ,were sailing by on their little boat laughing themselves silly to see a human creature enjoying himself and growling to the world [which ,they would think was singing] yeah right . Anyway,it's done now and even the two windmills are out again to scare the pigeons off, this does seem to work if you move them every few days so that they don't get usesd to them and so ignore them. The potatoes will have to wait till it dries out a little and so will the hedge ,the hedge because allthough all my garden gear is protected by cut outs ,the initial shock of water in the motor would not do my centre parting any good ,hee hee. Liz has put all the tomatoe plants into their growing positions ,and ditto with the cucumbers and has also put ,peppers and beetroot to start growing ,into the plastic cups that we use a lot for tansplanting into the garden and greenhouse, and has put a load of flower seeds in for both gardens ,so ,apart from housework ,we can relax for a couple of weeks and dream of Friday ,when we will have hot water and radiators again . Hope everyone is fine and dandy, see ya' Later.Fred.

Well we have Mothers Day here in the Netherlands tomorrow and my ex son in law has been around with a beautiful bunch of yellow flowers, sunflowers, chrysants, roses, etc.etc. I also had a nice card from my help in the house which read 'You are not really my mother, but have a special place in my heart for you'. I was really touched by this. Two people not family thinking of me on Mothers Day. Will see my own children tomorrow. Will keep this short, have a nice Sunday. Sylvia xxx

Morning everone, just a few lines to say i havn't forgotten you all, just that i have a lot on at the moment what with the garden and plants needing put out ,and seedlings wanting potting on. Tons to do round the house too,and work on the family tree ,but almost there for now thank goodness. I was at the sons yesterday ,to find that Mia had broken her back leg while out on exercise so spent most of the afternoon instead of helping pack, sitting on the sofa with this great soft rott' on my lap, getting licked to death every time i tried to move lol,boy ,did she go into a strop when it was time to come home he hee,she went into a right sulk when i made her get down, and wouldn't come out to say good by but stayed with a soulful look under the table. The caravan will be put to use again on the next long weekend when we are going back up to the same caravan park in scotland where we were a few weeks agoso this time i will be taking the cam corder to take some footage of the daughter and bairns ,as she is up there at the same time giving the fids a break. Liz and i thought it would be a good ideamseeing as all the children could play together while we all watched them, giving her a chance to relax ,because John ,the hubby will bog off fishing and leave it all to her ,as usual,a typical northern lad is John, won't do a bat round the house ,or gardenand thinks he has done enough working eight hours a day. Teeresa lands up working night shift, coming home in the mornings to start the housework ,do the washing and looking after the kids. I'm afraid i have called him a waste of space more than once, and don't think he rates as a husband very much at all,but ,at the end of the day ,it's her choice, but if it comes to the best ,and she comes to her senses and boots him out ,i have already said i would help with her morgage so that she won't loose the house. Well ,i am off to do some work, have a nice weekend all of you B B q in the offing here if anyone is in the area lol.Fred.
