Hello everyone ,thank you all for being so concerned about me .Its becoming part and parcel of the job in a lot of places I am afraid there are a number of libraries that have security guards on them when open ,not when closed!!.
I have completed the incident form and will just see what happens. We used to get three staff here but it was cut to two ,due to cuts in budgets.!!
As I am at work and its not my offical tea break I am not supposed to be here..Speak to you later,Brenda

goodness brenda I do hope that you are allright what an experience, it is a sad morning over here my friend isobelle has just called in tears her beagle dog rankin who was diagnosed with a form of cancer about 2 months ago has taken a turn for the worse her son is coming over to take him to the vet to be put too sleep he is quite young only about 6, but it is in the mouth and throat. I offered to drive down as it is clear to-day and the roads are ok but she asked me to wait until next week-end and come and stay for a few days, because fred it is still not spring here in the ski area a new storm is brewing for tuesday though they say toronto will get hit harder than us 15-20cm for them and about 10 for us, as I look out the piles at the end of the driveways are topping 7feet high but the sun is shining. fred I hope that you enjoy your trip away that is it for me to-day I feel so bad rankin was a lovely dog and a good watch dog for isobelle she has a large house and lives alone, the one cat had been acting funny the last two days animals do sense things don't they bye dorothy

Hi all,
I thought I was early but Fred and Brenda have beaten me to it.
Yes, Brenda, Fred is right, can't you get a bit better job, less risky. You want to be able to enjoy your pension when you get to retiring age.
Fred, how come you have so much energy?
I've just made a chicken curry so have time to make some cards. Have a nice Sunday everybody.

Morning peoples,it's turning out to be a nice morning here again, mild sunny ,but a liitle coudy over to the north ,threaening rain later.
If i were you Brenda,if it's a smallish library with no security guard ,,i would want to be in a bigger branch where there is ,or pack it in.
No job is worth the risk of assault specially at your time of life, surely your local council have jobs inside the local offices where there is a safer environment for you to work in?
Seems spring is on the way in Canada too Dorothy,Edith reckons the snows over her way are menting at last, and i am glad for her, irt's been a long winter over in her part of the world, but i don't envy her when the bears wake up,i would be wanting my son along as i walked in the country with his hunting gun, just in case, old Fred can't run away anymore .
Probably just as well ,because i know bears can run a lot faster than humans any day.
I will be going out into the garden shortly to try my tyattie barrels ,the potatoes should be of a good size now,and i fancy a jacket tattie for tea.with any luck ,we won't have to buy tatties for a good few weeks.
Liz was a bit upset at her birdhouse being trashed by the storm last week, but iv'e had a look at it ,and think it can be repaired, and ,as to the fence panel that got blown out and smashed,i think i can get a half panel to fill the gap, which is 600mm wide.
It does belong [the fence] to Joan next door, but she has enough on her plate at the moment with having to pay for a big skip to clear her ,back garden out,and get her two grandsons to help shift the rubbish because her three big strapping sons are too bone idle to do it for her.
Any normal family with close family ties would have done for her ,more so since she has lost her husband.
Three sons ,with very very good jobs ,and wages, have left her to struggle to pay her morgage instead of getting their heads together and paying it off so that she can relax ,and work her basic week, instead of jhaving to work all hours to make enmds meet, what has happened to the younger generation these days.
People slag of the indian nation, the muslems, and chinese peoples, but they still honour their parents ,and look after them in their later life, yes ,indeed ,us europeans can learn lessons from the immigrants.
Fred and Liz are popping down to Lincolnshire [louth, and alford on mothering Sunday,to put some flowers on mums grave in Huttoft ,just down the road, after which we will drop in to see Maralyns husband jerry,to see how he is keeping.
I wanted to deliver the flowers this year in person, mal' and jerry used to see to it,but since losing sis',i thought that i could pay them both a visit in person,a lot better and will put my mind at rest
It will be nice to visit Alford again too,to hell with the diet for the day,i wan't some genuine lincolnshire sausages for dinner, and a well earned Lardy cake, which we can't get up north.
Hope everyone is getting on okay, take it eqasy and enjoy your Sunday, and you Brenda,at least the tearaways are back at school,so it hopefully be more peaceful at work for you .
Don't forget everybody,10months to Christmas eve lol[evil chuckle ]Fred.

just aline to move us up a little.Work was ok until the last half hour when we had trouble with some tearaways they had bullied a couple of nice young lads and then stolen some money from them ,we said we would call the police if they did not give it back and they made a run out of the fire exit.We now have to do an incident report and see what the police can do.which is usually not much,we do have CCTV now which might help ,but I did feel a bit threatend when they all got up and charged out.
Was feeling ok til then, but its things like that which make me want to stop work now .!!

goodmorning would you believe the sun is shining and the snow on the ground looks quite pretty going out to the shops this morning to get something to chew on while I watch the oscars to-morrow I do enjoy the show, the grandchildren are out ski-ing to-day it will be a good day for them, I have been sorting through some family history on my fathers mothers side trying to get it in order, then had a look at my birth mothers family but all that is in scotland so some ups and downs with that. while my sister was here we had a brief chat about the adoption with it coming to light so late in both our lives she really does not like to talk about it, as she says I am all she has and I have tried to explain to her she is my sister wether or not we share blood, sometimes I wish that it had never come to light but then what can you do. I must say the sight of the sun to-day has given me quite a lift sorry if I have been maoning on about the weather in the weeks past but it does get you down, even the thought of another storm predicted for next tuesday is not going to spoil the day, I picked up 7 books at the library yesterday and just recieved a call 5 more are in so I will swing by there while I am out have a great day bye dorothy

Well had a few drops of rain today but the frost has now completely cleared.
I went to the market today, more or less for my neighbour as she has knocked her leg and has also an invalid husband to look after. She needed quite a lot of things. When I got to the market I suddenly felt sick and giddy, and I thought "what now". I have been feeling so well for a few days and now this, why??????????
Anyway I managed to get home and Johan took the shopping upstairs to the neighbour. I have done nothing this afternoon nor have I eaten anything. I hope this bug has gone by tomorrow.
Have a nice evening everyone.

goodmorning well brenda you had a good time shopping that was a good price on the duvet, I remember going to dinner in oldham years ago it was a place that looked like two cottages made into one and was full of brass and tobey jugs and good food mind you my son was 5 and is now 42. last night I went on line and checked out prices to england on charter flights not that I can really afford another trip but just to see what was available I do not usually travel charter but the thought of spring in england and the thought of all this snow just made feel I would like to run away and what better place to run too but bury lancs at least for me. I do have to go out to-day the boys are low on cat food but it is snowing and blowing so it will be a quick trip, I hope the car starts I have not moved it since last saturday. take care and have a good week-end everyone bye dorothy

Brenda Report 21 Feb 2008 15:02

Hi Everyone,Miserable .cold and grey here again. But it is dry ,so thats something.
Been and bought a new duvet today ,went to a shopping outlet up towards Oldham that Johns golfing partner told him about. It looks a right dump from outside but the stuff they sell is really good and the prices are really reasonable as well.
We got a kingsiz duvet winter weight ,duck down and a cotton cover for less than £30.00 ,the cheapest i had seen else where was £49.00.So that was good.
Glad yoy are still feeling good Sylvia and your visist from your daughter and hairdresser went well.
I will make I note of those books Dorothy and see if we have them at work.I have looked at the magazine we have at work about new books and ordered some new books but i am way down on the list.!!
Take care ,Brenda

Hi all,
Yes, I am still walking on air and cannot believe it.
Johan has gone to the library in town and to the hospital for himself this time.
My daughter came round so it was nice to have a chinwag with her on my own.
My hairdresser also came so it was nice she could meet up with my daughter Janet again as it was Janet who first introduced me to this hairdresser.
Now enjoy yourselves.

Hi all,
I have wonderful news at last. After suffering for more than a year with cystitis my urologist told me that my last sample of urine was clear of infection. He said he was finished with me. I said oh no I want a euro dynamisch examination to see if I actually can empty my bladder in one attempt, etc.etc.
My cardioogist has just phoned me to say that my heart valve hasn't deteriorated a lot this last year, so he is quite happy to leave things as they are - so am I!
All I want now is for my doctor to tell me that I am growing blonde curls and I'll be over the moon. Well, any colour hair will do!
It has been another very cold day here today, but then it is only February. I cannot wait for the real sunshine.
Have a nice evening everybody.
Good like to you Brenda on your forthcoming operation. Do you know it is almost a year now since I had my bowel operation for cancer - it was 8th March last year. You see, I am still living it up!
