'Ere,Brenda, where'se all these pennies comingfrom for this monitor then ?,have you denuded the piggy bank,or have you robbed the bank of england[not that you would get much from them lol].
I changed to an lcd monitor early last year ,much easier to move when you are dusting.
What a difference in the weather this morning, opened the curtainsand blinds to se the snow on the patio melting, and this was at seven clock, yippee,is this a sign of spring at last?.
Fred is getting quite spoiled with this new lappy and chair combo, and is sitting here like lord muck whilethe missus struggles with the other set up.
What i hear you ask,can she borrow my new one?HA,not on your nelly ma,this ismine ,all mine he he.
All i have to do is get used to the space bar being so low,but that should come with practice[i hope].
Hope everyone is fineand looking forward to the weekend.Fred

Hi all,
Just a few lines in case I don't get time tomorrow. Johan and I are off on Monday to Center Parcs for a mid-week holiday. This is in the south - Limburg. Johan's sister lives near Center Parcs so we will be visiting her and our daughter not too far away so this will be another visit. I don't fancy going into Germany with all this snow going around. Have singled out a large handicraft shop which I want to pay a visit to, so "here come the big spenders" as my dear brother would have said.
I have read all your contributions and will read them up when I get back.

Good afternoon all, well ,what a do do lol,the ruddy snow is back, with a vengance so old Fred has decided that it's time to make some more bread to keep in practice.
I don't intend to actually complain about our weather again after going on the world wide net this morning to find out our friends in oz are in such a state, what with floods ,dead livestock and ruined crops in some states, and fires ,tempereatures well into the 40 s in others with fires ripping through the countryside, and people dying with the heat and as a result of the fires and flooding.
Our troubles compared to theirs are small eggs and not worth a mention.
The next thing is to find something for tomorrows dinner,we had salad today, and will be having tomato soup for tea with some fresh home made bread, and bugga the indigestion all evening lol, actually ,itmay not be too bad as i put no sugar in the yeast and found it worked okay, put only the half recommended amount of salt in,and used olive oil instead of fat and butter, and it tasted okay.
Made two loaves and ten buns which gave me an excuse for a taster, he he.
Just had my grandson online today to say the dates for cyprus are okay,so ,we are off for six weeks in september, yippee, enough time to do plenty of exploring ,and charging the old batteries ready for winter, lol.
Enjoying my laptop enough to contemplate getting a slot in graphics card for gaming, just the job for travelling in aircraft when the onboard films are naff.
Time for a look around the boards ,catch you all later,Fred

Hi all, well its very cold again ,about 6degrees,but very sunny ,really disceptive. Not many braving the weather this morning only those with overdue books or picking up reservations have been in.John had to do the defrosting on the car for me to get out to work.
He enjoyed the retail therepy,we got the vacuum cleaner and he even had a run round with it when we got home.
We did intend to have a coffe and sandwich out for lunch but ,got some cooked meats and Johns favourite "ovenbottom muffins "from a little shop which we only go to very occasionally and took that home for lunch and really enjoyed them.
Bought a couple of birthday presents in advance but they where a good buy ,on special so that was good.
Hope your mother is ok John and everything works out alright.
Good luck tomorrow Margaret let us knoe how you get on.
Its time I put another colour on my hair Dorothy, its getting a few more silver threads!!!but I might wait a few weeks so its ok for when I go on holiday in March.
Have a good weekend Take care

Hi everyone
As Margaret may have mentioned the temperatures down here have been quite high - 23-25C where I'm and up to 29+ in the South Island. Showers were forecast but looks like there will be none.
A yachting competion that I know nothing about is taking place off Auckland Harbour - the Louis Vutton sailing regatta - a sort of mini-America cup event. Only four yachts are used -- two are from Team NZ and two from Oracle - the special features have been removed meaning its down to the skill of the crew. The teams supplying the yachts don't sail their own boats which makes it fair on those taking part. The other big event is the Rugby Sevens - and I'm not watching that either.
Mum is back in hospital this week to have more melanomas removed at 87 I don't know how her system can take it.
Take care, John

goodmorning glad to see sylvia back on line and I hope that you both manage to get away for a vacation have been following the weather reports and some of you are having a bit of snow. to-day it is very sunny but -30 degree's very cold so I shall not be venturing out to-day. nothing much new at the moment thought I would cook a couple of meals ahead to-day a beef stir fry and I have two chicken breasts to do something with. as far as I know lindy and the children will be coming to england in july not sure that andrew is coming with them as the company he works for is being bought out by another pharmacutical company and this may come to fruition in july, it is a 60billion yes billion dollar take over and as with any takeover you never know how things will be restructerd since the annoucment the shares of the buying company have gone down so nothing is certain as yet if the deal falls through the buying company has to pay a fine of 4 billion dollars to andrews company boggles the mind I get told mother don't worry it all will be fine so I shall follow that advise. well time to hit the kitchen keep warm all of you in england and holland and to those of you in the warmth enjoy bye dorothy

Hi all, well we had no snow today, and it was a little wrmer, but the weather people are saying it will be back by Friday!!,and will be worse than earlier this week.
Hope you get away this time Sylvia, you do need a break.
My friends parents have gone to Australia to see her for two months,They had not been looking forward to the light but they know they love it when they are there.
They have been almost every year for a long time now. They are in their early 80s and always fell a lot healthier over there,.
Been busy catching up on house work today ,but am not straight yet, just need a better routine but the shifts I do don't really let you do that.
Have to go now Coronation street is on.
Take care .Brenda.

Hi all,
Yes, we have had a fall of snow too but not nearly as much as in the UK. I had planned to go to the market in town today, taking a taxi with my scootmobile but when I saw the snow changed my mind. Johan went on his own to the library and I had some free leisure time to myself. I did have to make some bread though as there was none left in the freezer and I wasn't going out in the snow.
Next Monday we are hoping to get away to Center Parcs which is further south here in Limburg. Our last two planned holidays fell through, so am keeping my fingers crossed here. I didn't think Johan looked too good today. It couldn't happen a third time to us having to cancel our holiday, or could it?
We have only planned a mid-week holiday and want to visit Johan's sister, who is 85 years of age, living nearby. We only get there once or twice a year.
Have a nice evening.
