Sorry, I got side tracked folks I was thinking of Scarborough, it was a watering place or spa it has a famous fair and correct me if I am wrong it is connected with Robin Hood Bay ;-))

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 21:49

I think that's the general assumption Awdrey. I can't think where the watering hole comes in either though:)

Christine2

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 21:44

I don't remember him being associated with Matlock Bath either!!

Christine2

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 21:42

Well I couldn't think what Bath had to do with Robin:) Ye Old Salutation is famous. I went to a ghost story evening there once and Jacqui and I and 3 others took a certain bear there for a drink:)

Christine2

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 21:19

Jac

Jac Report 30 Mar 2007 21:12

Robin Hood & Nottingham are correct Dee, but Robin Hood Prince of Thieves was filmed in Carcassonne in France! Nottingham Castle not being thought 'authentic' enough! They were right enough there werent they Chrissie? Jacqui

Dee the Bibliomaniac Report 30 Mar 2007 21:06

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 20:52

I beg your pardon Mrs Etches but I was sat with a leg either side. Hence the pained expression on my face (it was a very wide lion:)

Christine2

Christine2 Report 30 Mar 2007 20:46

Well you know where we are Dee don't you?

Jac

Jac Report 30 Mar 2007 20:44

No Chrissie and No Dee Local hero's place is close to home in some ways, but very far away in fact! Chrissie sat side-saddle on this particular lion - and Gaynor Bear was there as well! Jacqui
