How and where do I send for a newspaper of the date my Mum was born, nothing fancy or elaborate just a local one or national one if that is the only choice there is. Thank you.

Some of the sites have original copies and obviously there is a limited supply of those. My daughter bought me an original copy of the Times for my 75th birthday, I dread to think how much it cost her :-( The print is so tiny, I can only read it with a magnifying glass.
Other sites do digital print outs from the original, so they are much more affordable

Whenever I see things about old newspapers I remember back to a day I was helping my nan sort out a big chest of drawers at her house. I would have been age 8-9 at the time.

As we took out the drawer lining - (newspaper) - I remember saying excitedly 'look nan, this is from the day I was born!' The paper then went into the pile for the fire :-D

How I wish I knew then how much I would later wish I had kept it.
