In 1929 his address was 1288 Amsterdam Avenue, NY.
Can't find that address in 1930 on Ancestry, nor any definite sign of James at another address .
That's a pity, as the 1930 census would have stated his year of immigration..

There are several James Sullivans in various parts of NY - assuming he was still living in NY.

Great you've found her, her Dad was Andrew o’sullivan and yes her Mum was Catherine Clancy . It looks like her brother James went first . Thats fantastic news . It would be great to find James who also went to New york . Mary kate osullivan who was of the same family - sister to Ellen and James. we think travelled with Francis Patrick Flanagan . Maybe early 1930s . Moved to Paddington and married in Slough .

What was her brothers name as it might help distinguish one Ellen from another. It would also help to know where you have already looked.

She immigrated from Ireland to New York before the 2nd world war , but we are trying to find out when ? She may have gone with her brother . She died in 1965
