I have been thinking what advice etc would. be useful at the moment:

Read the story of the boy who cried Wolf.

Don’t wash your dirty linen in public.

Keep your thoughts to yourself.

Any more contenders?

Don't take offence at things, or bear grudges - life's too short.

An oldie ‘do as you would be done by’. Or treat others as you would like to be treated.

I have always followed the advice of one of the few teachers I liked, that is to greet people with a smile, however, I agree with all the sentiments mentioned on this thread.

:-D to you all.

I like this one I came across.

Some people create their own storms, then get upset when it rains.

Good one, Names. It fits two privileged people that I can think of at the moment. :-0

My old bank manager use to say, "Don't bring your troubles from home to work, leave them behind!

ArgyllGran

ArgyllGran Report 18 Dec 2022 09:29

One of my school teachers often used to say, "Never put off until tomorrow what you can put off until the day after."

(originally said in slightly different words by Mark Twain, I believe.)

Most of his pupils still remember that, even 60 and more years later!

I did like the inspirational quote from the winner of Strictly come dancing, Hamza Yassin

One, surround yourself with people whose eyes light up when they see you come in.

'Two, the top of one mountain is the bottom of another so keep climbing.

And three, slowly is the fastest way to get to where you want to be.'

I couldn’t hear where he said it came from.

Another oldie: Be careful what you wish for.

The three rules quoted by Hamza were given by Andre de Shields when accepting a Tony award in 2019:

Must admit I'd never heard of him - but there's plenty on Google.
