OH has an Apple Iphone 8 with hundreds of photos on it. Our desktop computer is Microsoft Windows 10 and he wants to transfer the photos to the computer so that he can put them on CD. |

When I tf photos to my PC, I have a small cable which is separate to the normal charging cable, a white one. |

First, connect your iPhone to a PC with a USB cable that can transfer files. |

If he has not got a cable he might be able to get one from an Apple phone shop. |

I've only downloaded photos from iphone to laptop once and I'm certain I used the charging cable. I'm usually downloading from a camera. |

Thank you all very much. When I mentioned a locked phone he looked blank, so I guess it isn't locked!! |

Surely if the photos are on icloud it should be a simple matter for the pc to read them if it is set up. No cable should be needed. |

Andysmum, sorry if I confused you. The phone should be unlocked, which it probably is if he's looking blank |

It may mean if he normally puts in a password to open and has not done this, it is locked. |

Kense, Icloud is an Apple thing and our computers don't recognise it! He is going to ask the assistant in the Vodafone shop when he goes into Glasgow later this week. |

It is possible to access the icloud from windows. You have to download icloud for windows first. If you google there are videos that show you what to do. |

Thank you. That's something else for him to try! |
