I think Maggie is about right! With about twice as many petrol cars on the road compared to diesel cars plus all the diesel commercial vehicles.The business and commercial vehicle owners are considered less likely to shop around for cheaper fuel so the cost is loaded onto diesel to keep the petrol customers happy. |

very likely due to the pollutants coming off diesel - trying to get people to buy electric cars or those that use petrol |
