Evening all. (Always reminds me of Dixon.) <3 :-D

I shall have to persuade pals to pop into Sparkles to see whether ours is the same. It'll take some doing because it's always Costa because we can see out of the windows. For some odd reason, the many windows in our Sparkles cafe are too high for any of us to see out! They may have designed it like that so that people did not linger long but I get the feeling that they have lost a lot of customers to places like Costa - and we have two within walking distance, one large and one small with outside tables too.

PS….might enjoy my tea now…Priti Patel has resigned :-D :-D :-D

Well Sparkles have come up with another brilliant idea…..getting rid of their cups/saucers and teapots in their cafes :-0 :-0 :-0

Replacing them with mugs and tea bags/ who wants a Cappuccino in a mug

Well, no gardening got done.
My friend phoned inviting me round for coffee, which sounded a much better option ;-)

Picked up a few fallen conkers on the way home.
I really don't know if they make any difference to warding off spiders, but daughter might think it will help.
We haven't seen the big hairy one again yet, but I bet it's lurking somewhere :-|

Not so nice financially cos I do need new glasses

Well they did agree to put new lenses in my current frames as they were expensive and in good condition BUT still costing me £235 !!

And my prescription sunglasses will need updating too and they will be over £300

Wish I had stayed at home! :-( :-S

Apparently we had heavy rain during the night but I heard nothing. As I said to OH, ‘I slept the sleep of the righteous.’ ;-)

A super day yesterday. Watched Grandson 2 play cricket and, YEAH, his team won the shield and the lads each got a very nice trophy - quite swish, I thought. We had a family celebratory meal and drink at Dtr’s afterwards. His first footy game of the season is on Saturday. <3 :-D

After about an hour and a half he calmed down and fell asleep....partly through sheer exhaustion :-( <3

Still dry here !
No water in the bird bath, so no overnight rain for us.

Mild and cloudy with a hint of brightness, so I might get a bit done in the garden before the forecast rain arrives.

The government maintain that we are in a flood risk area ( not immediately by the sea, but considered coastal and low ground)
Our household insurance is due soon and several firms won't touch this area due to the supposed risk, so it will be interesting to see what they come up with about the effects of drought :-S

Bright, sunny and warm this monring. :-)

Well that was a storm and a half last night. Rolling thunder, fork lightening and torrential rain. Not that I am complaining.

I love to look at the sky when there is a storm, provided I am dry indoors. ;-)
