For the last two years our payment has been wrongly allocated, with it all coming to me as I apparantly have no-one else eligible in my household. I don't know what they think happened to OH!
In 2020 I didn't notice because we were otherwise occupied with "cancelled Christmas", but when I got the advisory letter in 2021 I wrote to put them right. From a financial point of view it made no difference, because OH gives me his payment anyway, as I pay the bills, but I wanted to get it right before something happens to one of us.
I got a reply, explaining in simple English who was entitled to what!!! By then I had received the payment, so I left it.
This year I wrote again in plenty of time, explaining (politely!) that they had got their records wrong and it was because I knew my entitlement that I was writing to them.
I actually got a very nice reply from a proper person, who apologised for last year's letter, admitted that they had their records wrong and promised to put them right before this year's payment was due.
A week later OH had a phone call from them to check that he really did live here and was over 80. He assured them I was being honest.
Today he received the usual letter telling him he was entitled to £150. Much earlier than usual, as the qualifying date isn't until the middle of September, but perhaps this is a one-off.
Anyway, I am well pleased - and it's a lovely sunny day too. :-D

Well done. :-D
It took me years to sort my pension until one day on the phone I finally spoke to a
person who listened to what I was saying and immediately solved the problem. ;-) ;-)

My pension was mixed up with someone else’s - with the same name but hardly any working life whereas I had worked almost all my working life. It was quickly sorted but I bet the other ‘me’ got a shock when she received her vastly reduced, but real, pension.
I was reminded of this when, a short while later, speaking with a vicar who said he had married my OH and me. He hadn’t but he had married someone with the same name as me. We kept in touch anyway and I received a lovely book of his published poems from him. The someone with the same name was the other person in my mixed-up pension debacle
I had spent ten years working overseas and there was a reciprocal pension arrangement. I spent my sixtieth birthday at the International section near Newcastle, taking my original documents for them to view. They photocopied them while I waited as I would not post them because I had originally sent copies to another office which had mislaid them. It was like getting access to Fort Knox, I might add! :-0

There is also the Energy Bill Discount currently £400 for each household that has a domestic electricity meter point..
Those with a domestic electricity meter point paying for their energy via standard credit, payment card and direct debit will receive an automatic deduction to their bills over the 6 month period – totalling £400.
The £400 discount, administered by energy suppliers, will be paid to consumers over 6 months with payments starting from October 2022, to ensure households receive financial support throughout the winter months.
Traditional prepayment meter customers will be provided with Energy Bill discount vouchers from the first week of each month, issued via SMS text, email or post, using the customer’s registered contact details. These customers will need to take action to redeem these at their usual top-up point, such as their nearest local PayPoint or Post Office branch.
In all cases, NO HOUSEHOLD SHOULD BE ASKED FOR BANK ACCOUNT DETAILS. Ministers are urging consumers to STAY ALERT TO POTENTIAL SCAMS and report these to the relevant authorities where they are suspected.
