I saw on the news last night the extent of the rubbish piling up on the streets of Edinburgh due to the Collectors going on strike.

The bins on the streets are are overflowering with refuse bags split on the pavement and rats crawling all over the rubbish.

I don't think think they should be allowed to strike as this has become an environmental issue and a health one,The smell must be just dreadful.
I agree everyone is entitled to a decent wage but for certain jobs, striking shouldn't be allowed.

And amongst it all, Nicola Sturgeon is banging on about Indy Ref2 and set a date for Oct 2023!!! Her sidekick from the Green party just looks like a lost lamb as he doesnt say anything of value and just goes along with NS.

I thought the Greens were all about the environment etc so how come this terrible environmental problem created in the last week hasnt been mentioned by him?

NS needs to focus on the here & now and things that need addressing to prevent any further strikes as schools & nursery staff have been balloted too and may well strike as well.
Something urgently needs to be done to get the streets cleaned up and domestic bins emptied too.
Asking the public to keep their rubbish at home if their bins are full. Oh my, can you imagine if you have babies or children, dirty nappies etc.

This should not be allowed to happen and NS needs to take action, not say, we are in talks, it needs direct action now.

Oh I just remembered too that some people on the radio earlier, said people should dump their rubbish outside the town hall or on the steps of the Scottish Parliament and see if that get noticed.

They also appear to have spent £1 million on chauffeur driven cars which may have been better spent on sorting out the ferry debacle.

Oh dont get me started on the Ferries issue!!!

I wish we could knock out the SNP but so many idiots just vote for them and don't actually know why!

Dreadful Gwyn but other areas are to strike as well so it will soon escalate and be out of control because no-one seems be in contro!
