On my laptop, I go to the 3 dots at the top of the screen, at the end of the address bar - this allows you to increase/decrease the font size, and many more things.

I dont use firefox very often Ann but i do use settings if i want change anything.

Florence with Firefox go to settings on the computer, then zoom then text only.

Mine is MS Windows 10 and Word documents, Florence, which is the same (but updated Windows) as it was when I worked. I have never had a problem and use those shortcuts and a variety of others that I used at work too.

I’m afraid I have no idea why yours won’t accept the shortcuts which were actually given to me by the computer people.

Firefox is what I use, Florence, and JL's methods don't work for me..

I tried JL but actually it doesnt work with control [ but it did work when I did what Argyll gran did.
I normally go to settings tbh but always looking for shortcuts.

Im on Windows 10 signed in with microsoft if that makes any difference. Shall have to go into firefox and see what works.

Thanks that didn’t work for me I managed to get the font enlarged by going into settings for Firefox.

If you are holding down the Control button and it's not working, we must operate on different systems ArgyllGran.

Florence - a few more hints:

Double spacing:
hold down cntrl and press 2
then hold down cntrl and press 1 to go back to single spacing

Left Align for letters and documents:
hold down cntrl and L

Right Align:
hold down cntrl and press R

Justified margins:
hold down cntrl and press J

Italic print:
hold down cntrl and press I

Underline:
hold down cntrl and press U

Ann - do you mean the font size when you're reading something, or when you're typing it?

If you mean when you're reading it, CTRL and + (plus sign) will enlarge it.
CTRL and - (minus sign) will make it smaller.

Press the plus or minus sign more than once if necessary.


It won't stay like that (large or small) permanently, however.

Similar for bold print, Florence.

Hold down CNTRL and press B .. then same to go back to ordinary print.

We got lots of little shortcuts from helpful computer people when first we got them in the 1980s but I’ve been retired so long that I tend not to use many of them now.

Hold down CNTRL Key and press [ to decrease font size and

hold down CNTRL key and press ] to increase font size.

Ann click on settings, then ease of access and that should give you the option to increase or decrease

I know somebody told me what to do when the font was too small and it has gone small again without me doing anything. can you tell me how to enlarge it again please.
