Yes, she does have the power to sack the PM but it is highly unlikely that she would exercise her right to do so. |

Governors-General in certain Commonwealth countries, such as Canada and Australia, also have the right to sack the PMs of those countries ................ but it is highly unlikely that they would it. |

I recall the sacking of Gough Whitlam, Australia’s PM, in 1975 by the GG, Sir John Kerr. Although discussions had taken place with the Queen, it only recently came to light that she was not warned beforehand about Kerr’s action. |

Joy ................. my understanding when this situation was mooted here a number of years ago, was that the Queen would give advice if asked or if she thought it seemly for her to do that, but in no way would she make the decision. |
