Scottish Census - 20 March 2022

I have just completed and submitted our census form.

I may be wrong, but I think it is the first one that didn't want to know where people are on census day. As we all know that has caused considerable problems in family history trying to trace apparently missing relatives, who were simply spending the night with a friend!!

We will actually be on holiday on census day, but it didn't matter as they only want to know your permanent address.

I would be interested to know how many people moved house from/to Scotland since the UK census last year.

Andysmum, I started completing the census today. When I added daughter, it then asked if she would like to answer her own questions and I know she would so i can't submit it until she returns here hopefully next weekend.

But when it asks you who will be at your house on census day, until then we can't really answer that. i mean, i might be away in hospital or daughter elswhere even though we have nothing planned but things can change quickly cant they?

How did it let you submit before the date?

The accompanying letter said we could submit it as soon as it was complete, and when I got to the end it told me it was finished and if I was sure it was OK, to press submit. So I did!

I seem to remember seeing somewhere that this will be the last ever census. I probably won't be around to complete it anyway. :-)

It may be possible to log in again and edit what you've submitted, if you find the people at your address are different on March 20th to what you thought.
It's certainly possible to edit before you submit the form - not sure about afterwards.

The deadline for submission is 1st May , so perhaps it's possible to edit your entries until then.

I've filled in the form, but haven't submitted it yet, in case of the unlikely event of an unexpected visitor on the night of the 20th.

EDIT:
No, you can't!

"You will not be able to make any further changes after you have clicked 'Submit census response' at the end of the questionnaire."
