A .ged file is just data. It can be opened with Notepad or similar text reader. It can also be copied into Excel - or Word, though I would not recommend the latter. But it will not make much sense to you. If you open it as I suggest, and scroll down, you will see your Family Tree names plus lots of other info. This info. is used to determine the links between the people in your tree. |
