Kucinta is correct, the Find Existing facility is there for that very reason, it was added about ten years ago when there was a major tree update. |

There is an option, when you 'add spouse' to either 'add new', or 'find existing'. I assume you could use the 'find existing' tab to pair up the two distant descendants, but haven't tried it myself. |

I have a number of these. The closer ones I just duplicate 1 person entry and put in notes to follow the other line. |
