Good Luck with your op Shirley. I don't come on here anymore and just thought i would pop in and see whats going on. My husbands side has the gene for hormone cancer and himself had prostate cancer back in 2017. The doctor did say they took him wide and far ( as they are doing to you) he gets checked very regular and he has been fine. Will be thinking of you x

Thank you folks

Am doing things like the washing and putting the trash out even though we won’t get a collection till next Tuesday,

Hoover has been on the move too

Hand luggage suitcase is about to be packed then it’s getting some lunch

Grandaughter is taking me in and will stay over tonight so she doesn’t have a very early early start

Definitely on the countdown now

;-)

Oh Shirley, so sorry to read this. I am glad you have had prompt attention and great support from your family, especially from your lovely granddaughter. Keep that positivity going and enjoy Christmas as much as you can.

You can concentrate on the recovery etc in the New Year and hopefully by Spring will be back on track with your life.

All good wishes

Yes Shirley, better to stay safe in your own home as you dont want to risk catching Covid or anything else that would cancel your op.

Hope you enjoy your xmas dinner at home.

It's good to know you are ok, also while it is good to visit family I think to stay home is better and the 30th will before you know it.
I hope you have a good Christmas x.

Must admit this has all been a blow coming out of nowhere

You never know what’s going on silently in your body that’s for sure

I just want this “alien “ gone tbh

So good that you have a date for surgery, so that you can get the treatment you need.

Lovely that again you will have the support, help and reassurance of your grandaughter.

A New Year with new beginnings for you.

Hope all goes well.

Will be thinking of you and hoping all goes well. You are also in good hands having a top man looking after the surgery.

Thank you ZZzzz

At 84 there was no mention of my age .was just need to be well for surgery

My granddaughter came with me for the appointment and was able to sit in to the consultation and ask questions

The specialist was the top man and a professor who specialises in oncology gynaecology and was very very nice in explaining and answering questions

We were at the hospital for 4 plus hours and only have to go back three days before op for covid swabs

My granddaughter is a diamond, she works in banking and is still working from home because of covid but is a very busy manager in her field .
She stayed with me for 4 weeks when i had my knee replacement surgery in April and will take me in and collect me this time too. She said will stay with me again as long as I need , she lives locally to me

Am very lucky to have family who worry about me

My daughter lives too far away as does my grandson but we speak all the time

Shirley~I,m getting the hang of it Report 15 Dec 2021 22:20

Been to the hospital today for consultation with the oncology gynaecologist and pre op assessment

Typical me I have a rare carcinosarcoma but fortunately not spread

Am going in on 30th dec for full hysterectomy by keyhole surgery, they hope ,

If they can’t do it at the time then will be full surgical procedure

Will mean womb tubes ovaries and cervix removed and local lymph nodes injected with radioactive material to check if any cancer cells, if any found the nodes will be removed too

All organs removed will be biopsied too

The specialist said as it’s still contained it’s not expected any spread but mri and ct scans can’t detect any singlular cells only a full biopsy would find anything

If anything found then a new treatment plan wouid be put in place

Still staying positive :-)
