This will be released on 6th Jan on Find my Past

How much will the census cost?
£2.50 for every record transcript and £3.50 for every original record image.
This will cover the cost of digitising and transcribing the 18,235,242 images created from the records supplied exclusively to us by The National Archives. It means these precious records are accessible, commitment-free, for everyone.
For all 12-month Pro subscribers, there will be a 10% discount on any 1921 Census purchases.

I have a pro subscription, but even so it is going to be very expensive

Thank you Linda.

I looked to see what sort of information would be included and copied the following............

The 1921 census was taken on the 19th of June 1921 at a time when the population for England and Wales stood at over 37 million.

The 1921 census gives greater detail than any previous census. In addition to the questions asked in the 1911 census, the 1921 census included more information about the profession and branch within it. It asked what materials they worked in, place of work and their employer’s name. For those over the age of 15 information about marital status, including if divorced was given. For those under 15 the census recorded whether both parents were alive or if either or both parents had died. It also had detailed questions on education including whether you were in full-time or part-time education.

For the first time individuals in a household could also make separate confidential returns.

I'm disappointed with the cost. I have a pro subscription but as Linda says it is still very expensive even with the 10% discount.

That's what I said on the other Thread, Kath.....10% is really quite miserly, I feel :-(

This is what you get when there is no competition :-0

All you have to do is wait and like the 1911 census and the 1939 register it will be part of the subscription. You aren't forced to use is, I've always waited. :-D

But it looks as though you can READ the transcript, and possibly the census for nothing ............ the implication is that those prices are for downloading the images.

So ............. you can get the information, no need to wait another 2 years (at least), which is what I think it took to get the 1911 Census and 1939 Register included in the subs.

They have to recover their costs .................... and according to the MailOnLine last night, this process has been taking place over the last 3 (THREE) years! Photos with that article implied that it also included live insect capture and killing :-0

It as less than a year 6 - 9 months I think before 1911 and 1939 went into your subs. Ancestry got 1939 about 30 months after FMP if I remember rightly.
