What I found intriuing was that she'd previously lifted heavier than the weight she failed on.
Were the female hormones kicking in?

It is one of those very contentious issues. Strong feelings on all sides.

I believe the IOC are going to have a rethink about their rules on this.

As to the weight lifter on question, I am waiting for her to tell us that it was the pressure was undermining her mental health and that was why she failed.

Or maybe she has long COVID. ;-)

Oh thanks Shirley for that info as I didnt catch the whole story. Ah so if testosterone levels meet requirements they can compete. How ironic though that they came last!

What I gathered from something on TV last night was that some women have a higher level of certain hormones than some men, which I guess means that there are women out there that are 'genetically' stronger than men , and conversely men weaker than women. It's a very murky area. I can see people being very divided about it

That person failed to lift the required weight so didn’t have the strength needed

Was able to complete because her testosterone levels met the requirements

She bombed out and was last ,didn’t manage to complete a single lift

Last night on the late news, i caught a bit about the female body builders.
Whilst i have no means to offend anyone, is it right that man who has trans to a woman should be allowed to compete in the female bodybuilding.
Obviously they would have taken hormone meds etc to change their physical body shape but surely they would still retain the strength of a man?

No matter how strong a female is, the male due to their genetic makeup will always be stronger wont they? So isnt this really not fair or am i being unfair to think this way.

I think there was a discussion on the radio recently about this but I didnt hear it or the outcome.

Anyone else agree or disagree on the subject?
