I think I had heard of Ani but had never herd of Angela.

They are both excellent ideas,as is the hand signal, and are probably not very relevant to me now but I think that, if I am made aware of them, then those to whom it is relevant information will already have been told.

So I hope they do already know.

In several pubs if you need help you can ask the bar staff for Angela. That alerts them to the fact that you need help

Ani - Action Needed Immediately.

That is something else that needs to be spread far and wide so we never forget Ani.

It is one of those brilliant ideas that work as long as everyone knows and understands it. I’m with Ann, I don’t remember the girls name, but I think it is for use in letting pharmacy staff.

Edit: The trigger name is ‘Ani’ which can be used in participating pharmacies.

Thanks Maggie.

I was hoping it would open up a bit of discussion.

Everyone of those 68 people could have passed that message on.

GR needs a like button so that you could acknowledge that you have read a thread but don’t feel the need to comment.

The video has been on Facebook for quite some time now so I’m sure a lot of people would have seen it.

It does sound like a good idea Sharron, I think I did see it on facebook which will reach more people than here.

There is another alert as well where you can ask for *** (&would be no good to me as I have forgotten the woman's name) If you are receiving unwanted attention.

68 people have seen this sharron. :-)

I am disappointed that more people have not shown interest in this because it could be life or death for some people coping with domestic abuse if only it could become universally acknowledged.

Maybe I explained it badly but the video shows a lady signalling from her window to somebody passing by and a man in a flat with another man being able to signal to a pizza delivery driver. Also there was a little girl being led by a man who was able to make the sign behind her back to somebody. Scenarios that could well be real and which might not ever be noticed otherwise.

It's a brilliant idea!

A video turned up on Face Book yesterday I think the idea comes from Canada.

It is a quite distinct but discreet signal you can give if you need help and can draw the attention of somebody who could be able to contact that help without drawing the attention of the perpetrator.

It involves holding your hand up as if waving and folding your thumb across your palm before curling your fingers down over it.

It think it is such a good idea, I hope it becomes universal.
