According to Wikipedia The Labour Corps was formed in 1917 to provide manual and skilled labour on the Western Front and Salonika.

That might be interpreted as a fighting unit.

That's right, names. My uncle was put into a Scottish Regiment and he'd never been to Scotland in his life!

He was mentioned on a tv programme?

Where one was born or lived doesn’t always mean they were in a local regiment. Also they can be moved around between units and regiments if numbers have been decimated.

Bit confused . According to ancestry grandad was in t6he labour corps during WW1 but all my information about him so far points to a fighting unit .
How can I check further please.
Oh itv also says he was i9n London when in fact he lived in Northampton but everything else matches ??? :-0 :-S :-S
