I tend to agree with JoyLouise on this one. Ultimately, however, we have to decide as individuals how we behave and we have to be free to do that at some point.

Covid is going to be with us for a long time yet.

The most hilarious bit is his complaining that the unelected scientists are wielding tremendous power, which of course they are not, yet he is exerting tremendous influence over ordinary citizens while also being unelected.

The problem is joyLouise that, as you have pointed out people are already not obeying the rules so not opening up a bit more won't affect them, only those of us who do obey the rules.

In this instance, I disagree with Littlejohn because, alas, some people have behaved like children and they seem to think they're Teflon-coated.

You and I may have behaved safely but you don't have to go far to find people who have put others in peril. We've seen them on telly and on our streets and beaches since last March.

I don't think Boris can afford to let loose any further at the moment because some people, when given an inch, will take a yard. The majority of us, I think, can follow rules, but far too many bend them to suit themselves. We all know this happens - otherwise why so many barristers arguing the toss in court and out.

Boris was certainly slow to react right from the off and the scientists must have been tearing their hair out. After that huge error I think he is right, now, to follow the scientists' advice.

I'd have been even more careful. If it were up to me, I would not have opened up schools until the majority of those over 25 had been vaccinated, because that would then have taken care of the majority of persons with school-aged children.
