Afternoon all
Nice Joan to have some company. im sure your grandaughter is enjoying being with you and also a help im sure.

I have tested out the detector in the house by putting a pound coin on the table and then hovered over and sure enough it beeped. If it is fine tomorrow and i feel ok, daughter and I could go down to the shore. Its just 5 mins in the car and a single track rd and also very quiet .Cant wait to see whats lurking under pebbles. It also works in shallow water too. im so excited you would think its xmas come early lol.

Its a lovely day but breezy but got washing out and will be dry within the hour.
Looking at my potato plants today, they are growing at such a rate, its amazing.Heres hoping we get a good crop of reds grom the plants this year.

Zzzzz that was nice to get a wee reward. Shame though it had been dumped.

If i did find someone on the beach that was valuable looking like a ring or something, I think i would take it to the local police station incase someone had lost it.

Debating whether to make some chocolate vegan cupcakes as im supposed to be on a diet but i havent baked since we moved and if i dont start using ingredients in my baking cupboard, they will be going out of date!

Well chores done and think a coffee is calling me.

Have a nice weekend all

We had a metal detector many years ago and found a plaque with a name and year that it was presented to him, any way we managed to track the name down, pre internet days and took it to the rightful owners, it transpired that it was a retirement gift but whoever inherited it dumped it and the plaque was all that was left, a couple of days later we were give a bottle of whiskey and a bouquet of flowers as a thank you.

good morning all. Tawny hope your BP has sorted itself out and that you feel OK today.
Florence good that the metal detector arrived. Hope you find treasure. anyway have fun using it. Be careful to find out any laws covering 'finds'.
Joan did you do more than a weeks shop? good to get it out of the way. I am sure that your daughter won't mind having to change cars etc, after all I am sure that you and her Dad have done for her in the past, she will want to help you. so worrying when your partner starts to lose their balance. Is he managing any better round the house. I expect he has lost his confidence now.

I just wanted to nip in to say what a lovely gesture it was that that footballer gave his shirt to the 10 year old fan, the memory will last her a life time, it brings me to tears every time I see it.

I’m pleased you got your metal detector Florence and hope you have fun.

There are a few flags here including at our windows as Mr Owl and I both have an English and a Scottish parent and consider ourselves British.

I mentioned my blood pressure to my gp when I was in about something else and she said to keep an eye on it. Unless it starts causing me health problems though not to worry as they consider it low normal.

Stay safe all

Tawny 107/58 is a bit low! 121/68 is perfect. Mine runs at 135/80 which is good for me.
Are you feeling cold today?
Mind you everybody is an individual so whats ok for one person may not be for another.
Its brightened up now as most of the day was awful. Damp and misty and quite chilly.

Got my metal detector and put it together. have tried it indoors and it works so off tomorrow down the bottom of the garden and see what happens.

nobody up here bothered about England winning. rather outnumbered with no sign of a flag anywhere.

Anyway what will be will be. Hope everyone staying safe this weekend.

That was a frightening experience florence. Let's hope somebody can sort it out for you.

Dermot, be careful he doesn't escape then, he won't know where he is. Is he normally an idoor cat?

Tawny Report 9 Jul 2021 11:46

I hope you get answers soon Florence.

Dermot oh the joy of cats. I have one on my shoulder and one on my lap.

A little tense today as my temperature is down at 35.7 and my blood pressure is up at 121/68. Normal blood pressure for me is 107/58. Hopefully they resolve themselves soon.

Good afternoon all
Well the weather here has changed. Its very misty and damp and in the last 2 evenings has been thick fog!

Im back to using the bus as last Monday took a huge dizzy spell when i was driving!!! Was so thankful i was close to GPs but managed to pull over, yank up handbrake and turn engine off. Then i slumped over the wheel until BP came up. O2 returned to normal and it passed.
Explained all to nurse as i was very shaken up and Tues was seeing consultant for a check up. He said you have vertigo????

I told him def not, these symptoms i had before my murmur was found.

So back to the bus as I do not feel safe driving and waiting on GP to contact me.

Just when you think you are getting back to normal something knocks us back..Thats life in general I think.

Anyway, my flower pots are blooming well and have brightened the front garden up.
I have also booked for hair to be chopped a week tomorrow and get some highlights, So looking forward to that as my hair is way down my back and very heavy.

Hope all is ok with everyone else who looks in.
Stay safe and take are

Well how would you feel if you had ordered something for a new hobby and was getting excited as the delivery date was nearing and then.... you find a big box in your porch. Only its not a metal detector but an office chair!!!! i kid you not.

Have to say, contacted Amazon who were very apologetic, reordered for me immediately(yesterday) and email today saying its on its way. They also arranged for chair to be collected tomorrow and sent a returns label prepaid. All sorted out in minutes.(much better than Argos anyday)

Its just I wanted to go down to the shore today and see what treasure I could find, was so disappointed.

Somebody somewhere though is wondering where their chair is and why they have my detector lol

Very warm and humid here today and millions of midges grrrr.

Yesterday, first rose out followed by a lovely yellow one today. The potatoes are growing so fast, its almost a jungle lol.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Afternoon peeps
Its been and still is a glorious day here, sun still high in the sky.
I stripped my bed, put out all the bedding and its dry ready for ironing.

Noticed something really amazing today in my garden. last year(i think) I planted some green pepper seeds and they grew into some lovely lush plants but didnt produce any peppers.

When i moved recently, the 2 pots got accidently left outside but actually they adapted to the change in temp ok. Well earlier on, i decided to move them round to the front as its more sunny and sheltered and to my utter amazement, i can see 4 little peppers growing. I am so excited.
Until daughter comes home, i havent anyone to share the news with so thought i would tell you all.

isnt nature wonderful and as they say, all good things come to those who wait,

We shall see how they grow over the coming weeks and i shall let you know.

As its so warm today, havent eaten much. Just dont fancy anything to big & heavy so may just have a couple of rolls with salad and a yoghurt.

Hope everyone has a bit of sun today and for the weekend, but i think there is a change coming sadly!

My little birdies have also now found the feeders i put on the fences. Love watching them fighting for seed amongst themselves. Think there must be a pecking order lol

Hello to everyone, almost the end of June and today is wet and chilly here.
Wimbledon is starting so I always expect the rain.

Hope the Dr can sort out the fluid problem Florence swollen painful legs are a nightmare.

Joan, it will be lovely for you to see your family when they visit. Hopefully all will go ahead this time.

Did some planting yesterday, OH brought some bedding plants from a local shop so we were filling baskets and borders. Should look good I hope. Always something to be done in a garden.

Good morning all from a very warm & sunny village. i think summer has arrived this week, lets hope it lasts awhile.

Off to GP at 12.30 today for 1.30 for some more blood tests, clotting & liver.
I have lots of huge bruises with a hard lump in the middle and legs like tree trunks.
Sadly the fluid tablets got rid of fluid but not from my legs and that left me dehydrated.

Anyway we shall see.
Saturday was hard standing all day and we didnt make much either. Take off the table fee plus coffees and lunch and there was only a few pounds after that. never mind but i shall not be doing any more this year.

I typed a thread last night about my sofa saga when suddenly it timed out and the post vanished grrrr. Took me ages to type.

Oh well will retype it again, it was a real sofa saga lol!

Joan hope you really enjoy seeing your family and the grandchildren especially the newest arrival. That will brighten up your week when it comes im sure.

Well better look sharp as need to leave. Its at my old village surgery so a trip of29 miles each way!

Sending my sunshine to those that dont have :-D

Joan it will be lovely for you to see your youngest daughter and family. It has been a strange day today for the weather, overcast all day about 16/17 degrees but with a strong breeze. I did manage to do an hour out in the garden cutting back filling up the garden bin as it gets empitied on tuesday. Things are growing really fast even yhough we have not had much rain.

Florence that will be a shame if you are unable to fly but it is not really worth the risk is it? It sounds as if your friend was pretty sure. Hopefully the doctor can give you something to get rid of the fluid. And no doubt standing all day didn't help. did you sell much in the end?

Florence61 Report 26 Jun 2021 18:19

Afternoon everyone. Well the weather excelled itself today. Blue sky and sunshine all day and still a beautiful evening.
Was about 16 degrees with a gentle breeze to keep the midges away thank good ness.
The shoppers were sparce today so the boot fair at the supermarket car park wasnt a huge success. Personally i think people made the most of the weather and went to the parks or a beach and who can blame them.
But was a very long day standing and can feel my back and kegs are very puffy.

Was great to be outside in the fresh air though.

Not sure if i am going to be able to travel or fly south at all. My 60th birthday celebrations with friends has now been postponed. I am seeing the dr on Monday as my legs are full of fluid and bruises and thats before i fly. My friend is a practice nurse and she looked at the pics i sent her and no way can you fly!!

So that is extremely upsetting in more ways than one.
We shall see what dr says mon afternoon.

Hope everyone is enjoying some sunshine for a change .

have a lovely weekend
