Afternoon ladies. Well if I put out the washing today, im sure it would end up in Aberdeen lol. The gale has arrived 60 mph and torrential rain. Thank goodness im inside! No freight ferry tonight as I thought but with my "doubled Tesco order" Im ok for awhile!
Well I decided after my shower and hair, that cooking fish to make patties was not the best idea so have left that for another day. Instead, I used up 2 onions and a box of mushrooms. I made a tomato pasta bake with grated cheese on top. Just needs in the oven for 20 minutes. I have a naan bread thats lurking in the bread bin so that will be good too.
Typed a long letter to my cousin and hoovered the lounge. Feeling a bit tired so now sitting with a cuppa on here for a wee while. Hope hubby's blood tests are ok Joan. So glad you got a result with a visit and hopefully the zimmers will prevent another fall.
Just Ginnie, it drives me nuts looking for rellies that your Aunt has told you about only when you do find them, you find that they have been know by a nickname and then they decide to tell you hours after searching grrr. Once I ordered 3 birth certs only to be told, oh I have those ones!!! Nothing in Genealogy is ever straight forward is it.
Take care all Florence in the hebrides

We have sunshine today , :-D Washing on the line at last. The sun lifts the spirits even on a cold day. Not much to do today now so might get a bit of family tree stuff done . Trying to tidy up a few people on my side and looking for another on OHs although I am not sure they ever existed. OH was told that his dad had a brother that died young but I can't find any info. He has 2 sisters who married 2 brothers (his gran/grandad and g/aunt/g/uncle) on his tree and I think the missing brother may turn out to be a known cousin. Doesn't help that it's a common name and a well used first name also. .lol.
Sausage, mash and veg tonight for tea. One of my favourites.
Take care. Ginnie.

Lol Joan , that made me laugh. Chatting up the sheep eh...hehe I talk to the walls sometimes and at least they dont answer back!
You were right, tom eve into Thursday, gales are coming.60 mph wed /thurs so i expect the ferries wont sail and empty shelves there will be.
Been working on this family tree all day, im about 1/4 through it but got a lot done. Why did people have such big families, 10 + kids i mean. Nothing else to do I suppose lol
Didn't make the fish patties after all today but will have a go tomorrow. Daughter has gone elsewhere for the next 2 weeks so quiet house, tidy house and a lot less washing!
Just having toast and marmalade for tea and not really hungry today and trying to lose some weight but its hard when one is not very mobile.
Hope all is well with everyone else

Afternoon peeps. Gosh its a dreadful day again with fog and mist and so wet. I didnt bother even sticking my head outside today.
Tomorrow Im thinking of making some fish patties but before i coat them in breadcrumbs, im thinking of brushing them with oil as i am allergic to eggs and milk. Has anyone done this before and did the breadcrumbs stick to the patty?
I just fancy something different for a change and have a packet of mixed fish that can be used in a pie that would do for the patties. Got plenty of steak chips to use up lol
Joan your flowers are far ahead of ours here. My rose plants in pots didnt actually die off this winter as it hasnt been really cold so still have green foliage from the summer on them. My new hydrangea plants look like they have a few new shoots, so thats good but thats all. Bluebells in pots are still sleeping.
Hope we dont get late snow that will kill off any new growth.
Joan, you are lucky with the weather but glad you are able to get jobs done. Its so good to get outside in the fresh air....i wish!
Enjoy your sausages...I love onion rings too.
Working on a family tree so better crack on.

Well another wild windy day here. Misty murky and def no sun.Yes very depressing! I decided to do some serious dusting today. I did all the shelves, window sills and all the ornaments in my bedroom. Took me absolutely ages but at least there is a shine now and dust free ledges.
The Tesco order arrived at 8.30 last night and oh my what a disaster.Daughter had doubled the order but in reality, 8 pints of milk, 20 bananas, 4 lettuces, 4 packs of smoked salmon, chicken slices and so on....I explained to the driver and promptly gave him back milk, lettuce, bananas and a few other bits. Think it totalled £12. It will be refunded but....to her account as although i pay for it, its in her name and the order is charged to her account. The cheeky mare said, ill knock that off the next order lol
It wont happen again and i shall check it thoroughly before letting it go to checkout next time.
Mnnnn rock buns Joan with my coffee sounds delightful...lucky hubby.
No snow drops but bulbs in pots are growing well, daffs and tulips

Gosh Joan, it is really dark here, low cloud and no sun and cold, very depressing the sort of day that makes me hate January. No sign of my snowdrops, just the tips of the leaves, they are usually earlier than this so shows how cold it is.

Afternoon all. Yes i slept for Scotland last and didnt wake up at my usual 3.15 am!!
Very misty damp rainy day and the wind is chilling on a biting cold wind. My poor tumble drier is getting bashed and i wish for dryer days so it can go outside. Tesco order is coming today but oh my what a disaster with it!!
Daughter had got a slot for Friday(yesterday), did the order on wednesday and only remembered on Thursday night, we of course would be away for the day. No slots available for saturday grrr. But late last night once home, there were slots for today so we managed to swap the order over but.....only when she checked the total to pay and i looked at the list of items, it became clear that although she got the order swapped over, she duplicated it! Eeekkkk yep so there is 2 and 4 of every item and it cannot be changed as its on route.
I now have 48 cans of diet coke, 20 bananas etcc Oh my could have strangled her but, it means dont need a slot for next week and everything on order can be used or stored so alls wells that ends well.
Just so glad the order was only for £60 initially so now £120...If it had been a big shop for over £100 i would have been worried, im not that rich lol
Got my appointment for my knee xray through today at local hospital for 7th Feb. So glad for that too.
JustGinnie, I love watching them paint, it looks so easy but when I have tried, I feel Im not a painter at all, sewing and baking yes, but drawing & painting no.
My ironing is gonna wait until tomorrow as too tired today to tackle it!

Really cold and dark here today but no frost which I was pleased about as I needed to walk round ro the pharmacy to get my prescription. I don't like doing that if it is icy. At least the cold kept people away so it was quick to get the prescription. Nothing else planned for today and I decided to be lazy and get myself a pasty for my meal this evening. Yes I have a couple of the landscape challenge recorded so I might go and watch that now.

A long day indeed I would think you were shattered by the time you got back. Hope you managed a good nights rest.
Been a very dull week here weather wise, I would really like some better weather so I can dry the washing outside fed up of washing indoors on the airer. Done the ironing this morning and now watching Landscape artist of the year. I have no talent at all for painting but love watching the different artists and the mediums they use. Hope you are all well.

Well its been a long day. Was up before 6, away at7am in the taxi. Arrived in Glasgow at the QE hospital. Oh my it's a huge place! After asking several people, we got a wheelchair and located the cafe. Not very easy in a wheelchair trying to get a tray, hot drinks and pay for it and transport me & tray to a table.
Nobody floating about to ask for help. However we managed in 2 trips in the end. We had an hour to kill so just stayed there awhile. At least it was warm as outside it was really freezing.
The walk to my clinic took 20 mins!!! oh my was told just a short walk....well depends what"short" means lol
I spent a hour with the neurologist. He listened, took notes and then examined me with various tools to see what i could feel in both legs. He then decided that i should come back for the Brain MRI and a Lumbar Puncture. Once these results have been looked at, then they can make a proper diagnosis although, he is fairly sure I have MS.
Promised me an appointment within the month and i will need to stay overnight.
So eventually got home after 7pm and boy I am exhausted. Did manage to the shopping centre where I treated myself to a new black handbag and a scarf to match..We had a bit in Macdonalds although I only like the filet of fish but it was very tasty for a treat.
I'm sure I will sleep well tonight hopefully.
Was good to get away for the day but also lovely to get home and be cosy.
Hope everyone else ok

Afternoon folks. Well after nothing happening re my scan, its all systems go. Got word of a cancellation today for....this Friday! So been on the phone to Patient Travel to organise flights plus daughter as my escort. Waiting for approval on that but it will go through.
11am at Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Appointment is for an assessment with the Neurologist but I may get the MRI at the same time which is what i have been waiting for. Also spoke with GP and she is arranging an xray of both knees asap. So finally things are moving and hopefully get some answers very soon.
Slept normal last night and arm is achy but not too bad otherwise im feeling ok after the jag.
Another dull day here, so grey & depressing and very chilly. Stuck my head outside the door and the wind was brrrr so quickly shut it lol
Having a salmon fillet for tea with a stir fry of veg and no potatoes as trying to lose a few pounds.
Hope everyone else ok

Evening all. Well I got my first Covid jag done at 1.30pm today. had a lovely nurse come to my house and explained everything. Afterwards, she stayed and chatted for about 20 mins to make sure i was ok.
I never felt a thing at the time, but right now, my right arm is quite sore as was expected. If this is the only side effect, than im not worried but we shall see over the next few days.
Another cold, damp day here and heating on since before tea. Just mackeral pate & toast today as not feeling terribly hungry.
Hope all ok with everyone

Hi Joan, so glad you are ok. Its been very quiet here, hardly any post and misty murky weather so noone out for any walks.
Your appointment was rather late and i wouldnt like to be out now when its dark either. Poor hubby, hope you can get another panel. Would you be better taking the bath away and putting a spacious shower in? Help the aged did this for my mum. She can sit and bathe and manage to wash her hair as well.
Waiting to hear from community nurse still to come to my home & give me my first Covid jag so shall have to chase that again on Monday and also no word re my scan so another phone call to chase it up.
All I seem to be doing is chasing things up!
Finally received a package from my cousin in Oz posted 21st November by airmail!! Lovely calendar but the newsy letter is a bit out of date now as we emailed our news! Oh well at least it turned up.
Been cleaning out cupboards all week. Today was the baking cupboard. Oh my didnt think I had that much until we emptied it completely but still well stocked for awhile yet.
Nothing happening here over the weekend unless we win the lottery...in our dreams eh!
Stay safe all

Yes that is a worry. Hope we hear soon and it is nothing to worry about. We had thick fog and a hard frost and the fog only lifted for about an hour all day when we saw a glimmer of sun. I did manage to walk carefully to the hairdressers it was a bit slippy under foot but it was good to get my hair cut.
