Well another lovely day here, dry, a bit chilly though and some sun.
I managed outside with my daughter and went for a wee walk to the edge of the rd. neighbours cat followed us and he seems to like us lol. Chatted to both neighbours briefly and then walked a bit more. Standing still too long and our hands got cold.
But was great being outside.
After lunch, we made some cards for birthdays, blank ones too so a few more in hand now. Good load of washing too dried on the line and smelt so fresh, such a change.
Might do some baking tomorrow.
Hope everyone else having a good weekend.

Evening all. After all the gales of the last week or so, calm has been restored and not a bad day. I hung my super king size duvet cover out and got it dry, such an achievement. Dusted today as eveything was just so covered in it grrr but all sparkly and clean now.
Just waiting on daughter bringing a chicken breast supper for tea, not chancing any more chinese after last few times!
Hope everyone else doing well today. Its amazing as still light here for now although beginning to fade. Spring is nearly here :-D

Joan, although I bought this locally, it is available on Amazon.
So its a Mercury ST36B indoor Amplified Tv Aerial £18.99
Ask your daughter to have a look for you. It will pick up your Freeview and radio channels. At least you would have something.

oh Joan, you have been busy and such a fab day you have too.Send it over here please lol
Ah your birthday surprise! The plants sound lovely, how nice for you.
I do not have any outdoor aerials. I have free view and all I have is an indoor aerial i bought locally for £20 and we get a perfect picture. You plug into back of tv and into the mains. I'll get the details as you could use that until you get your dish sorted.
Your poor daughter what with her tooth and now her hand, poor thing. Hope she gets it sorted soon.

Good afternoon all. Im back safe and sound but oh my the wind in Glasgow was worse than here!!!
Daughter & I hung on tightly crossing a road and nearly got blown over, was just the worse.
However, we arrives 20 minutes early but they took me through. The MRi was 30 minutes and I felt I needed out. I started to get a bit stressy and my heart was beating quickly so lucky it wasn't the 1 1/2 hours I had last year. have to wait now for probably 5 weeks for the results!
Anyway, we got a taxi to the shopping centre and gently strolled around looking at all the shops, well those still open. Paperchase has gone into Administration, so that will be another empty unit.
Managed into Primark and YES.....I got me tshirts, finally. So I bought 10 black v neck, short sleeve, stretch ones and they will last me a year or more so Im very happy now. They are brilliant and never shrink or stretch and are only £3 each. There was nothing else I fancied in Primark anyway.
Next M & S and scored again as i found a pack of 3 bras in my size with 4 hooks for support for...£32 great bargain. I also found a lovely black one too for £22 soall in all a great day for shopping.
Went to KFC as havent had one for years and we really enjoyed that. Some nice coffees elsewhere too. The headed off to airport late afternoon.
Special assistance there as always are lovely and efficient even taking us into boots to get some snacks on route to our gate.
We arrived home around 8.15, completely exhausted but good to get away for the day. Daughter got a few new things too so shes happy.
Very windy and cold here and raining....lol Bin day of course!
So been very busy this morning, paperwork, letters and housework so im sitting now for a bit.
Hope everyone else ok today. Joan, when will you get you sky dish fixed?
Re cobwebes, I use the extending hose on the hoover as it reaches the corners.

i always seem to lose the instructions on the cooking....doesn't come off cleanly... if you get my meaning..

That could have been nasty Linda at least it was only the car and the woman abd baby got out ok I wonder what caused the car to catch fire. Joan hope you can soon get out and start to clear up the branches etc.
Florence hope all goes well with the scan, safe travelling there and back.
12-13 degrees here and still breezy but no storm thank goodness. Had a friend in for coffee which was nice, she has just gone off to meet another friend for lunch. I must go and deal with the cobweb I spotted in the lounge while we were talking. :-D

Morning all looking in. Well the next storm is upon us and increasing all the time up to about 65mph.
I am busy finishing off the laundry and doing some ironing incase we lose power. I also quickly need to wash hair again as off to Glasgow at 6.30am tom morning for me brain scan.
Just as well as the planes are on strike Tues -Thursday! With no ferries because of the wind too, many islands are really cut off, Uist in particular, so supplies will be running low. Parts of Harris are without power already.
Joan, think you will fare better than us today.
Hope everyone else is fine & well.
Shall be back on Tuesday and let you know how the scan went etc

Oh Linda, that was awful but so lucky the woman and her baby got out in time and near a petrol station too, so lucky.
I looked at the SSE power track map and i can see that Inverness area, along the east coast and a large part of Aberdeenshire are without power so likely that Joan is off maybe. It would seem those areas got it the worse.

I am in North Yorkshire Florence. The wind has died down now, it was only about 70 mph, but the near bye motorway was closed in several places because so many lorries had blown over. The local news is full of pictures of trees blown over and there are lots of people with no electricity.
My little town has been in gridlock for most of the day because a car broke down just off our main roundabout. It bust into flames and was completely burned out. Apparently it was almost new, but the woman and baby in it got out safely. It was only about two hundred yards from the fire station, but it took fifteen minutes for them to come because the station isn’t manned permanently, they all have jobs and have to get to the station from work before they can go out. The car was right outside the Tesco petrol station, but on the other side of the road. Luckily it didn’t blow up, that would have been a catastrophe if the petrol station had set on fire.

Pleased it soon passed for you Florence. and well done, a result from the solicitor. I suppose it is difficult to know why the solicitor is off but hopefully it is nothing serious. I suppose they are only human but provision should be made for clients surely. Anyway you are ok now so that is good.

Afternoon all Well the storm was worse at around 4am when woke for the bathroom. The wind was very strong then about 70 mph but have to say it passed fairly quickly and was not as bad as the one more recently that damaged my garden box etc.
So we actually got off lightly this time.
Linda, I'm not sure where abouts you are but it sounds a lot worse than here? Glad you slept through though.
Joan, hope it didn't hit you too hard and damage anything in your garden etc.
Finally after another call to sol this morning and complained, a man tel back within the hour. He said he was a locum filling in for 6 weeks ,so I'm guessing my sol is off sick...again! Anyway, he was extremely helpful. I thought i would also ask his advice about another matter and he gave me some sound advice for free so that really pleased me. My faith has been restored.
So my list for today is nearly all ticked off. I find it satisfying making a list of jobs to do, then crossing off as the job is completed. So 2 things left to do and then that's me sorted and I can relax awhile.
Stay safe everyone looking in

Morning all. JG good to hear from you. Glad your OH is fine and hopefully the new tabs will sort you out too. Yes I saw a bit about NZ on tv and it was awful!! Hope all your family are safe, such a worry so far away.
Ooh decorating, so paint or wallpaper? personally, i dislike wallpaper as it makes it hard to match other things with it if it has a pattern on so I prefer paint in light pastel colours. This is a new house and is magnolia throughout which is fine as I bought new furniture and accessories and they are mostly black but with teal curtains, lamp etc.
Depends on the natural light of the room.
I'm sure you will find a colour eventually.
The skies are very heavy and dark and the rain is on just now. Daughter is on her way home and my Tesco order coming 2-3 so pleased for that.
So until after lunch, I'm plodding on with research whilst I have peace & quiet lol
Hope everyone else doing ok today
Take care

Hello all, everyone seems to have been busy bees either at home or out and about.
Got my Dr app. and had to have some more tablets as cellulitis had not completely cleared . OH had his tests done and all was normal so no problems thankfully.
Sorry to hear you have more bad weather on the way Florence it must make the winter so long . I was reading about the awful time they are having in New Zealand with floods and a cyclone also had a 6.5 earthquake near Wellington. We have family there and it has been awful over there and it is still summer there I believe. I read that they had a whole summers rain in 1 day and that caused the flooding in Auckland .
Hoping to get the kitchen and living room decorated this year just got to decide on colour or just leaving it white.
Take care all. Ginnie
