names, in the back of my mind, I seem to remember mention of asthmatics and the jab at the beginning of the vaccination programme. I have not checked so perhaps I am mis-remembering.

A couple of other conditions were mentioned too.

I am pleased your asthma has calmed down. I hope it doesn't put you off having the second jab.

We both found that very interesting. I am still wondering if mine sparked off my asthma, which has now calmed down.

Daughter in her 30’s had the Pfizer one and had no reaction - looks as though she might get one next time.

My sister and her husband both had covid in January but went for their jabs (Pfizer) during March and both were OK. They are both in their seventies.

My OH and I had our jabs a day or two before them (AZ) and we were OK too. Our own doctor vaccinated us and he asked if we had driven to the surgery. When we said yes, he told us to wait in the 'waiting room' (there were two rooms in the surgery used as such) for 15 minutes. We were allowed to go then as we were both OK. I think that was a safety precaution in case of any ill effects.

If it had not been for that article, Sheila, I may have taken a punt on people who had ill effects following the jab having presented themselves while sufferering (unknown to them) from a reduced immune system temporarily because of an unknown allergy, pending cold or some other minor ailment (such as the onset of earache, throat infection, stomach upset, etc) that they were unaware of or of the propensity of their body to react badly to something contained in the jab.

Of course, the bad reactions could still be due to the unknown because the journalist who wrote the article could have been in that same position of incubating a bug, unknown to him, or his body having a reaction to a constituent of the vaccine.

We may never know.

However, neighbour aged 84 caught Covid in Jan, and was bedridden for a couple of days, doesn't know where she caught it.
She was invited to have her vaccine and went the first day she was allowed out of quarantine. Says she wasn't asked if she had already had Covid.
Said her eyesight was very blurred afterwards, so much so that she left her car at the Centre and got a taxi home. Spent another few days bedridden, more ill than she had been with Covid. She has recovered ok.

I've just done an antibody test for Biobank, and have long term antibodies. I've not had Covid, but had 1st vaccine 4 weeks ago.

Luckily I didn't suffer blurred vision Inky1 and myself and my glasses returned home safely!!! I'll definitely look out for that unfortunate side effect when I have my 2nd dose. Thanks for the advice! ;-)

This happened yesterday and is important information for our age group.

A friend had his second dose of vaccine at the vaccination centre after which he began to blurred vision on the way home. When he got home he called the centre for advice and to ask if he should go see a doctor, or be hospitalised.

He was told NOT to go to a doctor or a hospital, but just return to the vaccination centre immediately and pick up his glasses.

My friend had the Pfizer injections and she had more reactions than 3 of us with the AZ, it included a severe headache.

It's just how you react as an individual due to your immune system but it's better than being forever in lockdown or getting Covid.

My OH and I both had the Oxford-AZ jab and neither of us suffered any ill effects.

I think it depends on which vaccine you have. Myself and several people I know have had a strong reaction to the Oxford vaccine but nobody I know who had the other one has been poorly. My poor daughter was extremely poorly yesterday with the Oxford one. Just my opinion.

The scientists say 'no', the jab should be effective whether or not you react to it (less than half so far have had a reported reaction). All down to the infinite variations in our immune systems. I've got my first jab next week, hoping for a non-reaction!

The jab provokes an immune response in the body, so flu-type symptoms are not uncommon. They shouldn't last long as the response dies down when it's apparent there's nothing for it to attack!

Have just had 2nd dose. All OK at present, see what tomorrow brings. Hope its not like the 1st one.
